Great place food was very good.

Setting is beautiful but the menu and the food doesn't live up to the setting. Staff are lovely, food is a bit of a let down and service is slow.

Went today for lunch with my daughter, sister’s and mom.
Matt was so welcoming and friendly, made a refreshing change. Food and cocktails were all delicious. Will definitely be back. Thankyou.

Terrible service the front of house seemed incredibly happy to refuse our custom as they did not inform of of the mistake of them accepting our booking of 4 adults 2 children and a 8 month old baby who is breastfed that couldn't be left at home. This was all told to them in advance and they didn't notify us so we attended then got rejected. As mentioned earlier the front of house was very rude and seemed happy to turn us away and was not sympathetic at all for the mistake they made.

The atmosphere is always so relaxing and friendly. Intimate and welcoming. Not to mention the amazing food. And there is always good music.

I struggle not going here if I'm honest. Great vegan options, such a wonderful spot whether you want live music, a cocktail in the lush garden area, a quiet pint indoors, a quick bite or a romantic and very delicious 3 course meal they've got you covered!

Been eating here for years it’s a simply beautiful establishment definitely would recommend to anybody looking for a nice evening.

The outside barman was serving my drinks in warm glasses, however what a place, jazz band, roulette, party, alcohol and dj.

Hands down the best South East Asian food I've ever tasted. I especially recommend the savoury carrot cake starter and the Beef Rendang Nasi Lemak.

What a gem! Fantastic meal (Cambodian influenced), charming rooms and a jazz band in the garden. All of this moments away from the City centre. Guest house prices for what you would expect from what they now call a boutique hotel. 5 stars plus from me!

Food is good but not great. Staff could be friendlier & more helpful. Very quiet of a lunchtime. Cosy on a winters day. Like the bar area. Parking is a nightmare so I suggest taxi.

This is a lovely place. We had a booking for 16 so were sat in the front room. The starters came all together but some of the mains didnt, and we had to wait a bit longer for the sides to arrive. My meal was the Ribs starter and randang veg curry. Both were excellent and very flavoursome. My main gripe was after the organiser had collected everyones money for the bill, it came with a HEFTY SERVICE CHARGE, so he had to pay that himself (an extra £30). This bit I just dont get. We were happy to leave a tip but mandatory service charges i'm not happy about, or the £4.80 price of a pint of Blue Moon. I like the place but I wouldnt go regularly as its too pricey on my salary. The decor is superb and very stylish so I guess it is right For their Prices. The music was fantastic and the atmosphere it created was superb. It is a bit cramped though with everyone squeezed into the bar and spilling out into the hall, so not a lot of room to boogey on down. I will go again probably for a lunchtime treat as I loved my meal.

Best guest house I've ever stayed in. Really good value large bedroom. Live Entertainment twice weekly in the bar. So we had a lively stay. The restuarant was the best asian/far eastern type food we have eaten. Cooked and presented to perfection. Friendly staff!

First visit — different menu with some Asian unknown items — I had to ask the waitress what they were. Very good service from pleasant staff. Highly recommend.

Location is perfect, central to most things and only a ten minute walk from the night life and the symphony hall. Room was very spacious and very clean, bathroom was huge and the bed matched. Couldn't fault the service, very polite and always there to help.

Food was lovely, went for the express menu at lunch for my leaving lunch. However, the member of staff left a lot to be desired! Took an age to bring drinks, forgetting 1. Then looked shocked when we asked if we could order our food. When it came to paying the bill, even more rude! Was put out that we were all paying separately, wouldn’t help with the bill and plain rude when it came to the apparently “mandatory” tip!

Food was just lovely and so authentic… Took me all the way back to Bali. Service was amazing and loved that they actually had a brilliant selection of gluten free foods. Prices were totally reasonable and the location and venue were just shockingly beautiful. A real little gem in Birmingham and can't wait to keep going back.

We really enjoyed our one-night stay here. The room was very clean and the food was excellent.

I really wanted to like this place after visiting Blue Ginger in Kings Heath I expected good things. The problem was it hasn't scaled up very well. The place is large and lacked atmosphere, some background music would have helped this immensely. Service was inconsistent, it took 30 mins for the bar to provide me with a Singapore Sling, admittedly the wait staff did keep me informed of this but a wait like that is quite frankly ridiculous. Other things like the waiting staff leaning against the walls in the dining room and no checkback being performed made this place seem very unprofessional. As far as the food goes, we had prawn crackers while we waited for starters which were served with some kind of pineapple and chilli chutney which was excellent. Starters were mixed, the Singaporean Carrot Cake was excellent and a must try if you visit. The sweet potato fries were bland and had none of the promised taste of ginger (or any taste at all! ) they were however served with some more of the chutney, but that could not make up for the blandness of the dish. Mains were again mixed, the presentation of the Beef Rendang Classic left a lot to be desired as it looked like a cow pat sat on a leaf (photo uploaded), the flavour was good however seemed heavy on five spice and was slightly too spicy for my partner. I had the Khmer Chicken Curry which was good thai style curry.

I'm not good at estimating the period of buildings, but I'm going to say it's an old Edwardian house. Anyway, it's an attractive but relaxed venue – looks like the garden will be beautiful in the summer. My food was delicious with so much flavour packed in. And a good wine list to top it off (went for the Viognier myself). Really enjoyed the evening and will definitely go again.
