The manager was horrendously rude and tried to cover up their failings. He cancelled my booking with less that 12 hours notice as he couldn’t accept their failing. Dreadful place.

We stayed for one night whilst watching a show at the Utilita Arena. Great location. 10 minute walk from the train station and Bull Ring shopping center. 7 minute walk to the arena & Brindley place which has lots of bars and restaurants. The room (18th floor) had a spectacular view over the city. Lovely layout. Very large room. Super king bed. Very comfortable and extremely quiet nights sleep. We didn’t have breakfast (we went to the Witherspoons which is next door). We did have a meal in the bar in the afternoon. Food was delicious and very large portions. The bar staff were excellent. Highly recommend if you’re planning to stay in Birmingham.

Beautiful hotel, friendly & helpful staff. Lovely atmosphere. The only issue was the parking, we needed to walk for 10 minutes to walk from a very expensive car park.

But on the downside when in our room and we didn’t arrive until late afternoon the room did bit have any bathrobes, only one mug for a hot drink, half filled tea tray, and no milk. We called on phone from the desk in room, the other one wasn’t working to housekeeping and after several attempts there was no answer so called reception, bathrobe was bought to room but only one, we had to call again as we had waited around an hour for mugs and milk, we were leaving room to go out at 7pm to a concert. Twice we were told to call housekeeping and I said that we had but had no reply the rest of our missing items were bought to us. The grouting on the bathroom tiles were dirty and the breakfast, even though there was plenty of variety, the cooked breakfast was poor quality products, rubbery cold eggs. Normally it would of been sufficient but considering the price point we did not feel it lived up to a superior room with quality extras and didn’t feel that it was worth the price at all.

Only booked for 1 night but extended our stay, got upgraded & also got given a lounge pass.

My first visit to the Hyatt Regency Birmingham and it certainly won’t be my last. Absolutely fabulous hotel, beautiful design throughout, ambience etc and my room had a fantastic view being on the 21st floor! The room was wonderfully clean and of a very high standard with lovely little added touches. Each and every one of the staff I spoke to/came across during my stay were so lovely, friendly, courteous, efficient and very helpful and I will certainly be recommending this central Birmingham hotel to my friends/family and hope to be back very soon — thanks for a wonderful stay!

Enjoyed a lovely stay here. Great door staff — very helpful and friendly. Lovely room, clean and spacious with great views! Nice decor and atmosphere. Couldn't fault it until breakfast. Got shown to a table and left there… so we guessed we just helped ourselves to the buffet (which was pretty bland and tasteless). Asked the staff member hovering near the buffet if we could get a coffee. She said you have to ask a waiter… when you can find one. Finally found one — bloody hell… you would have thought you had asked for the impossible! Grumpy then bought coffee over, but practically needed rugby tackling to serve the lady on the next table — who had also been shrugged at by the lady lingering by the buffet. Thankfully our few tables (none of us together) had a sense of humour and commented about getting out of the wrong side of the bed. Thanks to the service in the morning — I would never recommend this place or stay here again, which is a shame overall.

Our new favourite hotel in Birmingham! Loved everything about it, the room, the view, the pool, the club lounge and the helpful friendly staff. We were staying for our 22nd wedding anniversary and had a wonderful stay.

We stayed at this hotel this weekend for my 40th birthday celebrations. Service was brilliant, rooms were gorgeous, views were amazing especially at night and we had a fantastic time I would highly recommend this hotel.

The staff are very welcoming and extremely helpful friendly and attentive. I celebrated my birthday with afternoon tea and champagne I received many complimentary drinks and treats the Spa staff were excellent too and the facilities second to none. My room was decorated beautifully I was amazed I had the best time ever… I highly recommend anyone to visit this hotel and challenge you to have an excellent time. Thanks so much. What you get for the price.! Not great. One expects better. / more Few channels on the TV for free not the usual free view. Film4 etc. Not even radio channels!. On the bright side. Room is well appointed. But hey that's a minimum! If you make out YOU are a cut above the rest. You have to prove it!

Good City centre hotel in walking distance from the train station I was in Birmingham for meetings one of the meetings was held in the Hyatt the meeting rooms are well set out and confatuble. The hotel rooms are a decent size the bar and lounge area is a really nice pace to sit and relax lots of open spaces. My only issue with all city centre hotel a big mark up on the price of drinks, so if you go out of the front door 2 minutes walk you will find a few decent bars at half the price.

Amazing service from staff at the front desk especially Christa who upgraded our room she was polite and very nice. The hotel is very clean and all the staff are polite and very helpful. The pool area with sauna and steam is brilliant, but the Jacuzzi was not working. Brilliant location for central Birmingham and access onto canal and town. Thank you Hyatt, keep up the good customer service.

This is how a hotel should be. The whole place was clean and modern and well kept, I agree with some reviews that a few bits are dated but it does not spoil your stay. We had a regency club room and this is well worth the extra, the club lounge was amazing and we commented that we could easily spend all day in there gazing out over the canal and city. Sandra who worked in the lounge saw us at breakfast each time in there and was a shining star on our stay and a true credit to the hotel — could not do enough for us, we got engaged and she surprised us with a bottle of bubbly in our room and chocolates — she chatted to us and even showed us the suites on the level above which we hope to book next year. Johnathon Mellor also worth a shout for sorting a check in issue out quickly and professionally — our new favourite hotel in Birmingham — well done Hyatt.

I have been staying here regularly for over a year, it is far and away the most welcoming hotel I have stayed in, the staff are wonderful and the rooms are the most spacious in town. They can also produce gluten free food 24/7.

We stayed here for my hen do and the staff were fantastic. Very helpful. The room was spotless. The spa was great and clean. There was a gent playing the piano in the foyer. It's beautiful and I'd love to go and stay again. The beds were really comfy as well!

We stayed here last night. In total 11 of us and we all enjoyed our stay. Upon checking in, the girl (sorry I didnt get her name) was so lovely. She found out our group was celebrating my 40th So arranged a bottle of prossecco for me in the bar. Plus the sweets in our room which was a nice touch… she was so lovely to deal with and the guy in the bar in the afternoon was lovely. Was nice being looked after by professional but very friendly staff… The room was lovely and the beds were so comfy. The best Ive slept in ages. Just wished I had a few more nights there
We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in Birmingham for sure. Hopefully soon…

We had a looovely time at the Hyatt! The staff couldn’t do enough and even brought a hot water bottle up to our hotel room at god knows what hour in the morning as I was in pain, and were so lovely about it.
Everything was clean and the bathroom was lovely! Bed vvv comfy
Also had afternoon tea which was great and options for all (veggie, gluten free etc).

The Hyatt Regency is over rated, this is because they are poorly managed. The staff are clueless, and they over charged me £90.00. They did reimburse me after phoning them five times and waiting for the manager of food and beverage to answer my call. The room was nice no fault on the room, however for the price it was over priced. The shower didn't work and the pillows were overly uncomfortable. The car park was a fifteen minute walk from the hotel which was long with our bags. The pool facility was lovely and the sauna and Jacuzzi that was the only good thing of our stay. Never stay again! As, I had a delay of, one hour thirty minutes for our room to be ready. We ordered breakfast room service that didn't turn up, then I got charged for. Don't recommend!

A disappointing experience at the hotel. One and a half hour delay in checking in after arriving at 15:15 you would have thought the rooms would have been ready. Had to continually chase for updates on rooms and remind the staff we had an evening event booked and needed time to change. Service in the pub/restaurant was really slow. When finally allocated room 514 opened the door to Be hit by the smell of damp, so strong all our stuff had to be washed when we came home. Reception staff did not give the correct information, told to check out before going to the spa, do not take robes and slippers from the room. Arrive at spa, you’ve guessed it, we needed robes and slippers from the room. Shouldn’t have checked out as they needed to add treatments to room. Staff in the spa were fabulous though, corrected issues, found robes and slippers and sorted out the bills for us. Well done spa staff we were well cared for and felt looked after. Hotel not what we expected, staff need to know what they are doing and perhaps speak to guests when the meet them.

Large, clean room. Extremely pleasant and diligent staff at reception and at the bar. Excellent views across the city — it's a shame that there are currently building works taking place — it would have been beneficial to know this when booking. A very good visit.

Wow wow wow! Thanking Mohammed and all the staff that made my daughter’s birthday so special. We came home tonight and Isabella said please can we go back! The rooms were spacious with lovely soft bedding. Location perfect. Spa tranquil and relaxing, and a lovely gym. Staff were polite and happy to assist with anything. Breakfast was unbelievably awesome. The range was huge. I definitely will be coming back again with the family and passing on how incredible the Hyatt Regency is. Well done to you all!

Nice large rooms, quiet at night. Great views from higher floors. Attentive staff. Very good location in city centre with covered bridge to Symphony Hall. Loved it.

Good 4 star hotel. Some excellent wait staff at breakfast, gluten free menu available. Watch if signing bar bills on the room, had a couple credited to me while I was elsewhere for dinner. But sorted out without too much fuss.

Gorgeous but busy business hotel. There is always a lot of activity when you arrive at the hotel, from valet to Reception. The valet folks are sometimes lazy and stand around doing nothing when they should be helping guests. The entrance to the hotel could also be a little cleaner to give off a better first impression. The inside of the hotel is beautiful but as mentioned, its a typical, busy, business hotel in the centre of town (tucked away on a quieter street though). There are always plenty of taxis at the stand outside the hotel. The rooms are a decent size and recently renovated although sound proofing is horrible and you could often hear couples being amorous at all hours. The bathrooms are ok although the showers are older and could do with an upgrade. The Atrium lobby bar night waiter (black guy in his early 30s or so) was extremely rude and clearly bored with his life and especially his job, it would seem. The staff in the Gentleman & Scholar Pub and Terrace on the other hand, were fantastic although the establishment gets extremely busy. The restaurant has terrific ambiance, however, the menu could definitely do with an upgrade as there is nothing that was different or exciting on it. Overall, I enjoy staying at this hotel.

An awesome hotel in a great location. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The check in went smoothly and the front desk people were very helpful and pointed out a few spots of interest in the area. The lobby is sectioned, which makes it feel larger and breakfast is served in the lobby area as well as other areas. Breakfast isn't the largest, but definitely is enough to get you going. The rooms are spacious, great views are had on whichever side you find yourself on. Great hotel.

Lovely hotel, excellent service and a truly delicious breakfast. I am often travelling for work, so stay in hotels a lot, but thought it was worth highlighting how nice this one is. There was a loud group of girls behind me checking in, so I was dreading being in the next room to a hen party of some sort, but fortunately didn't have that to deal with. Room was nice, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was very well appointed and had a nice powerful shower. They've gone down a similar route as Hilton regarding the TV channel choices, which was disappointing, but wasn't there long as it's conveniently located for bars and restaurants of Brindley Place. After a lovely meal out, we came back and had some more drinks in the very tasteful bar downstairs. Last thing — breakfast was excellent. Much better than the standard hotel fare. Really good waiter came over several times to refill coffee and asked more than once if there was anything he could get the chef to make for me. My colleague had a fresh omelette (after his full English! ) and said it was delicious. My pre-made food was very good, all cooked nicely, and the coffee tasted fresh. Will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

I really rate this hotel. Very well organised. You can check out on your phone to avoid the crowd. There is a sense of occasion in the main foyer due to the high glass ceiling. It has a very good bar too that was buzzing with atmosphere. Staff are professional and efficient.

Stayed for a single night on Hyatt points. We arrived late but we're helped by the concierge who managed to squeeze our car in for parking, the front desk staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was on the 21st floor with fantastic views over the city centre. We also used the club lounge for drinks and the service in their even late at night was great. The room service was also quick, my wife's all the greens salad was wonderful. The downsides are noise some from other hotel guests coming back after a night out (it was Friday after all) but also from outside — it is surprising how much carried up to us from Broad Street. Breakfast in the morning was also very nice and again the staff were very friendly. We would stay here again but perhaps ask for a room at the far end of the corridor to keep the noise down.

Nice hotel in the centre of Birmingham. Rooms are great, lobby is very nice and hotel staff are good, polite and helpful. So why one star? The concierge is difficult and disorganised. Despite paying for parking when I parked when I went to my car to pick something up he demanded payment again. He could not then find the information and it took ages to get sorted. And all I had done is visit my car — hadn't driven it in or out. Just did not make sense! Poor service and no trust!

I cannot praise this establishment enough!. The rooms are immaculate. The overall service and attention to detail is absolutely amazing. I will never stay anywhere else when I visit Birmingham. Jay and the reception team as a whole cannot do enough for you! The restaurant staff again are amazing too. Keep up the excellent work guys! We WILL be back :-)

I was visiting this hotel to use the bar area for a meeting with some colleagues. The seating area was comfortable and we were not disturbed. Bizarrely it was impossible to open a tab and everybody has to pay for their drink as they went along which was extremely inconvenient and highly unusual. The policy was explained to me as being in reaction to a £1500 loss the previous month from unpaid bills. A poor reason in my opinion and one easily solved by every business that first runs the card, or takes the card to return when you settle the bill. Still, overall it was a good experience, but far, far, lower than any other Hyatt proper I've visited.

Stayed here a few times. Went on saturday during a busy period as the German market was on. We went into the bar which was extremely over priced and they didn't have any of their pumps working so had to drink bottled beers, there were two staff serving and one couldn't understand and didn't know what he was doing so had to keep stopping to ask the other bar attendant. (should of prepared in advance knowing how busy it was going to be. ) The room had a great view of broad street but that was it. I have stayed in the crowne plaza on the opposite side of broad street on more occasions and the room was much better and well under the price that this place charges. Don't think I will be returning or recommending.

The rooms are incredible. Also the bar and restaurant are well laid out and decorated with great food. The location is brilliant close to town but not too close. You can walk it in a couple of minutes but equally it's nice and quiet.

Excellent location, next to conference venues, and short walk to restaurants in Chinatown. Great amenities too, love the indoor pool/spa/sauna/steam facilities. The room is large & clean, great city view.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt. First class customer service. Complimentary water, diffused with lemon or cucumber in the lobby. I filled up my water bottle on a regular basis. The room was on the 19th floor, quiet, view of all the construction out of the front of the hotel, it didn't spoil my break. Leisure facilities great — swim, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Plenty shops — 10 mins walk. So many restaurants everywhere. I did not use the bar, restaurant or gym. I would stay here again.

We Had a fantastic stay for my wife's birthday. We stayed on the 24th floor. We really enjoyed the regency club. We enjoyed the spa, it's got everything. This hotel is amazing we have stayed here before and will do in the future.

I used to enjoy staying in Hyatt, but the last stay wasn't as good due to several things: 1) There was a fly in the room and when I asked to be moved, the housekeeper insisted I should just stay in my room. 2) my next door neighbour seems to had a late night party and had made some noises in the middle of the night. This lasted for about an hour and eventually stopped after I complained to the front desk. I told them I don't need them to call me back, just sort out the noise, but the manager thought it was a good idea to call me back at 1 to apologise. 3) there is a construction work happening in front of the hotel, nd oddly, they seems to continue pass 9pm. Appreciate that points 2 and 3 may not be fully within the Hotel's controls, but overall it contributed to the less pleasurable stay.

A fantastic hotel for the price. The room was massive and luxurious. Sick of hotels locking their TVs down, just let me use the HDMI port! Also, the breakfast seating area was rather small and resulted in not having a spare seat at 7.30 (not normally a busy time for breakfast on most hotels).

Top place. I stay here once a year for an event next door at Symphony Hall. Absolutely no problems at all with the accommodation. Decent room rates are a bonus of course, and the hotel is located right amongst the action.

Service was great. Room was lovely. Pool area was so relaxing. Loved the restaurant food although we waited a while longer but the staff were helpful and very welcoming. Beautiful building too.

One of the few first class hotels I've been to and everything fits into place. Was most impressed by the silverware, so shiny it would make a perfect mirror. From arriving at the door to going into the hotel it was like a being greeted by your own family. Excellent service all round.

Excellent location, not far from New Street train station (about ten minutes either walking or on cab), close to the old center with vibrant lifestyle around the canals, plenty of bars and nice restaurants! Also extremely convenient for the conference center, being actually linked directly through a bridge, priceless in bad weather! The rooms are nice and clean, comfortable beds and some of the are having excellent view over the city! You can take advantage of the hotel's pool, sauna or steam room and in the evenings you can visit their own pub if you don't feel adventurous and walk a few yards for other options! Talking a bit about price, I don't think is too expensive, I would situate it in the mid price range, slightly above the cheapest places around it but the level of service justify the price, from my point of view! Overall I would recommend the hotel, stayed there in a few occasions and will definitely go back!

A great stay on the 17th floor overlooking the canal basin. Comfortable well-appointed room. Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed for a romantic Valentine's getaway. Our room was clean and had a great view of birmingham. Hotel has a great central location.

Well located hotel in Birmingham; attended for work event/overnight stay. Pleasant atrium area and well set up conference facilities, room clean with city view (unfortunately mostly building work currently). Breakfast good. Mass catered dinner for event nothing special but better than average as these things go so overall a very positive experience.

Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the lack of satellite channels available. It's a shame you have to pay triple the price to watch a movie which is not even new. Furthermore, the air conditioner noise was very loud and kept me up at night. The room was always cold despite the fact that the thermostat was set at the highest temperature. Lastly, the bathroom did not have a lock. Not a 4 star hotel i'm afraid.

As expected. You get what you pay for. Breakfast can be busy though at peak times. Rooms above the 17th floor worth the little bit extra in premium with floor to ceiling windows and views.

Had a work Christmas party here. Food and room were great but the drinkjs a little pricey. The staff were incredibly helpful and not to mention, right on broiad street so didnt have to go far for the nightlife.

My husband and I stayed here the past 2 nights. Unfortunately we had a bad experience. Friday night was fine, but last night was a disaster. We got absolutely no sleep at all. We called the front office 4 times over a 2 hour span and NO ONE did a thing to stop the room party going on next door. We were kept up till way after 3:00 am with a room party next door. There were multiple people in the room, they were loud with very explicit language, not to mention loud music. I'm all for fun, but by midnight it should've been halted. Today, we are both exhausted. We contemplated leaving around 2:30 am, but decided it wouldn't be safe for us to travel an hour home when we were so tired. Each time the front office was called, they said they would take care of it, but never did. It appeared they could careless we were being kept awake all night by the people next door. Today when we were checking out, we asked about their security and told them we had been awake all night long since no one took care of the problem. The lady was nonchalant and said, "I won't charge you for parking"… parking was $24… our room cost a lot more than that and our sleep was worth more to us than a $24 save… I would've much rather them escort the people out the night before who were the issue instead of allowing them to party all night long at our expense. This was just an all around bad experience. I would dare say the night staff knew the people next door to so blatantly let them get by with a room party.

Amazing place I stayed for a week and the service was great and the rooms are very clean and tidy.

Stayed here for one night recently to see Indina Menzel at the Symphony Hall across the road, I had a club room on the 24th floor and it was amazing! Floor to ceiling windows and a view to die for! Bed was very comfy but the 4am false fire alarm I could have done without! I had room service breakfast in the room on the day of check out it arrived and was beautifully presented and was hot and as expected! I also used the aria restaurant in the lobby before I went to the concert for dinner and for £29.50 I had three courses and 2 glasses of Pinot Grigio (excellent value) the service was prompt and the staff seemed to love working there (always a good sign of a good hotel) If you're in the area for the icc/symphony hall or the REP this is a perfect place to stay and treat yourself.

Went here for Afternoon Tea a few months back. It was one of the best Afternoon Teas I have ever had. There was a great selection of food on the tea. I thought there wasn't going to be enough but I couldn't eat it all. We had a number of them between 12 people and the service was great. The environment was lovely and peaceful. Well worth a visit. Obviously being the Hyatt its going to be expensive though, but good quality.

My stay at the Hyatt Regency was lovely and the customer service was excellent. Cristos who served us was extremely helpful and went the extra mile for us as well as the waitress in the Regency Lounge on the Saturday Night. They thoroughly went out of there way for us. The view was magnificent and the room was lovely and spacious. I wish we had more time to stay in the spa.

Pravda Bar — Nice ambience. Pricey as it is hotel bar. Great for a chill and a cocktail.
