Once again had lovely break over the Great North Run weekend. Breakfast is amazing can recommend Eggs Royale and also the full english — Sally also makes the best jam! A really nice touch was our 'foot spa' on arrival — fragranced epsom salts, lavender spray, and a bowl to soak your feet, along with other foodie recovery stuff. Would definitely stay here again.

The hosts were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The bnb is well situated for sea front and shops with a whole line of restaurants to choose we went to the Indian brasserie the food was lovely and we would recommend it x.

Room comfortable. Breakfasts were good. Parking on the street. About a 10 min walk to the metro to Newcastle, felt a little bit uncomfortable at night walking back with daughter. Lots of curry restaurants and fish and chip shops on walk back.

The Kingsmere is an excellent base from which to visit friends or family in the area with the added plus of being able to easily to explore the lovely coast and beaches of the area. The rooms are newly decorated and wonderfully clean. The good location near to all amenities is first class. The warm and friendly welcome we received was a pleasant change for a regular visitor to hotels all over the world. The breakfasts are as hearty as the welcome and the stay represented wonderful value. Overall an excellent stay and we are looking forward to being back in the North East soon.

I was looking for a good value for money stay in South Shields when I came across the Kingsmere Guest House. The price was within my budget so I gave them a ring to book for a weekend. Russell was very friendly and most welcoming in taking my booking. He was there to greet me when I arrrived and even helped take my luggage to my room as I was on my own. The room had all the advertised facilities including TV, video, coffee and tea making facilities etc. The room was neatly presented and very clean. Breakfast in the morning was first class and I was definitely full for the sight seeing day ahead of me. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Kingsmere Guest House and found that it was very good value for money. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, friendly place to stay in South Shields and would definitely stay again.
