Only the second time I've visited since new management and they are to be congratulated. Excellent local real ales, single malts and right now mulled cider. Friendly staff and great service. No naff huge TV screens killing conversation or background 'muzak'. Nice decor and cozy real fire. Probably the best pub in Woodbridge right now.

10 of us popped in on Sunday for a roast and they were so accommodating and the food was excellent! They have really turned the place around, we will be back!

Stayed at the Bull Inn and it was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the cask beer was kept very well and the room was perfect. I will most definitely be staying here again when I’m back in the area for work.

We had a fabulous stay, our room was beautiful, and we loved the history and quirkiness of the place. We love history and to be able to read up on the history was awesome. We would have loved to have seen the tomb.
The food was also amazing, we had an evening meal and breakfast, both were spot on.

Not reviewing as a hotel guest but as a local using the bar. Superb hospitality, great beers and wine — and a lovely refurbished bar. Certainly upping the standards for others in Woodbridge.

The Bull Inn was a delight to stay at. The room was clean and beautifully presented and the bathroom was modern and fitted to a standard of a much more expensive hotel. Sarah one of the owners made us feel immediately welcome and at ease when we arrived and throughout our stay! We decided to book a table for the evening in the restaurant and we are glad we did! The food was delicious and well presented! We will definitely be back to stay if we are ever back in Woodbridge.

Just had an AMAZING roast dinner at The Bull today, Unbelievable quality and value for money. Had the family down from Yorkshire and they were even blown away with the Yorkie puds!
We've just booked to go back next weekend as well!

Stayed in Room 1 — a beautiful room overlooking Market Hill with a separate lounge area, four poster bed and free standing bath. Comfortable and homely and despite being above the bar not much noticeable noise. The landlady is very friendly and has excellent taste in wine! Nothing was too much trouble and we had such a wonderful stay — we will definitely be back.

Staff are so attentive, relaxed atmosphere, drinks are not over priced! we are staying here paid extra for big room well worth it, bath separate shower living room area over sized king size bed! breakfast couldn't fill you enough.

13 of us had lunch on Saturday and were really impressed with the quality of the food, the young man Ben who looked after us and the lovely chat at the end with Sarah. Ben particularly stood out as caring, professional and attentive. We were glamping at Secret Meadows just outside Woodbridge and having lunch at Bull’s Inn was perfect. Thank you again. Went to The Bull Inn on Sunday to watch some live music, quite possibly the friendliest atmosphere I’ve ever experienced. Wonderful place.

Stayed here with my fiancée for the weekend, lovely place, the staff were fantastic! Food was delicious, would definitely recommend!

We had a very big problem which ended up with a blue light visit. The owner helped at the time. Would recommend The Bull Inn.

Very convenient, good breakfast, clean linen reasonable room which could have been cleaner, helpful staff. Noisy road and ill fitting curtains made it difficult to sleep.

Awful service. The barman screamed at my boyfriend for a spilt drink even though this was caused by another customer. Very rude and unapologetic swearing at us, would not set foot in there again awful people and awful service.

Came here for my daughter's hen party — the staff were all friendly, helpful and welcoming. Everyone was happy with their food and drinks. I had the tapas — delicious.

I found The Bull Peaceful and tranquil. Very friendly staff. Good food and nice fireplaces. Homely feel. Wi-Fi available. 7 minute walk from Woodbridge Station.

Lovely little hotel in the heart of Woodbridge, real atmosphere when there's a band playing (there's been a few good ones), you start to meet the locals who are pretty decent (mostly), all in all a good place to relax, I'll be returning in the near future keep up the friendly feel of the place.

Lovely stay, great food, nothing too much trouble, needs a little updating on the dacor.

Nice clean restaurant and bar area however we booked one of the four poster rooms and was very disappointed. The decor in the bedroom was shabby, in the bathroom tiles are coming away from walls, radiator wasn't working and no shower. It was ok for a night but would look elsewhere if staying in Woodbridge for a longer period.

Great and comfy pub and hotel. Good local food. Clean and excellent service costumer. A place to come back.

Friendly staff, good breakfast and nice rooms. The view was interesting to watch people driving around the town. Only downside was that the shower drain didn't work very well and the shower nearly became a bath.

Requested a cot in our room when booking and confirming. When we arrived there was no cot; the owner refused to help until he finished his dinner. He refused to see why this was an issue and literally shrugged his shoulders as he shovelled chips and steak into his mouth. I ended up shouting at him in front of the whole bar to make him do anything. The lady on reception looked mortified and apologised behind his back. He then wanted to charge me a surcharge for the cot; but he could see I was angry so he dropped it. Room smelt of damp and bed was lumpy. Breakfast was decent and the other staff members were nice. Wouldn't ever go back though. Honestly it was like dealing with Basil Fawtey's cousin.

Lovely place. Staff friendly and helpful and compassionate as we had my grandparents wakes there and we wonderful with my mum when she was arranging it. The food that was laid on for it was also lovely both times. My parents stayed overnight and they enjoyed both the evening meal and their breakfast.

Excellent staff and excellent rooms. Just please fix the Wi-Fi so it's in rooms as well as public areas.

Friendly and homely bar and good restaurant. I play saxophone each month in The Bull Inn (new name) and it is a fun afternoon.

We stayed at The Bull Hotel when we attended a wedding. We were able to check in early which really helped us although always call ahead to check this is possible. Our room was lovely comfortable bed (although more than one pillow each would have been a bonus) and the decorated nicely. N complaints about the bathroom either. Staff are very helpful and the bar was nice too. Having drunk too much the night before my wife and I failed to get up in time for breakfast however my friends that stayed at the hotel for the same wedding tell me it was very good. We would love to stay here again and visit more of the lovely surroundings.

The owner personally greeted me upon arrival and ensured to cater for some requirements I had including a later check in. Very kind and the room is lovely.

Lovely, friendly hotel. Two very unfair comments below. The hotel is an old coaching inn. You expect to have uneven floors, narrow corridors, smaller rooms etc. It's an old building full of character. While our room was not huge it was well laid out and comfortable. It was clean, the sheets smelled fresh and the bathroom was tidy with a huge shower. The food was excellent, we took the DBB option and the three courses defeated us on the second night we stayed. The hotel was busy as there were a lot of people around for breakfast. The breakfast was great too. Plenty of choice and a freshly prepared fried breakfast which pleased an egg hater! The staff were friendly and helpful. In fact when my sister arrived early to meet us, they gave her coffee in the bar until we were ready. The two day stay was great value and I fully intend to stay again.

I have never before felt compelled to write a review about any hotel that I have visited but I do feel that The Bull Hotel at Woodbridge is badly represented on this forum. We had booked 4 double rooms on a Bank Holiday weekend and we were all situated in different parts of the hotel so I imagine we had a fairly good sample of the rooms between us. It's fair to say that this hotel is in an old building so anyone expecting the uniformity of the 'plastic palace' hotels is likely to be dissapointed. There are many low doorways, narrow staircases and sloping floors. Some may think this is unacceptable but I call it character. My double room had a small shower toilet, view of the carpark but a gourgous large comfortable bed. No problem at all. As for references to gangs of louts outside all night all I can say is that they must have all been away for the weekend. No noise was experienced by any of us other that what can be reasonabably be expected from any hotel. Breakfast was freshly cooked, substantial and a lot better that I have had in many 'better' hotels. Clearly some people have had bad experiences. All I can say is that I am quick to complain when things don't meet my expectations and I have absolutely no reason to complain about any part of my stay at The Bull, either abot the establishment itself or any of the staff.

We stayed at the hotel for my brothers wedding for 2 nights. It cost us £160 for both nights. Our room was located in the car park, out side. I must admit, compared to the rooms I saw in the main building, ours looked OK. The main building of the hotel is in the middle of having a bit of DIY — not that anyone told us this while we booked over the phone. The first night I was woken up at 5.30am by a delivery lorry. We didn't have any hot water for a shower, pre-wedding. The cooked breakfast was nice though! The second night, the hotel bar became a nightclub for a bunch of kids. The staff were friendly but useless. We did ask for a discount, but received nothing.

On arrival no welcome! My Mother's room was small, dirty and had no electricity. She was moved to a double room and then moved again the following morning to the only room that had been updated. We could not hang her clothes up as the rail was designed for a giant! The door of the spanking new shower fell off in my hand as I tried to gain access. She was also unable to turn off the light once in bed as it was positioned too high. I had been given a double room despite booking a single it was at the top of the hotel, the "Four Poster" suite. Well I dont think it had been cleaned thoroughly for weeks. My corner bath had a huge crack round the edge and down the side which was sharp, dangerous and unsightly. I was supplied with a rubber shower attachment that was supposed to fit on the taps I'm afraid that no amount of manipulation could attach this to the taps. The tiles on the bathroom floor had not been grouted and they were coming away and there were gaps suitably full of dust. There were also gaping holes in the side of the walls behind the toilet. If I wanted to boil the kettle I had to place it on the floor as the flex did not reach the chest of drawers. Our party included six family members we all found the accommodation below standard and dirty. When we complained the receptionist stated "I only work here". I'm not surprised she would certainly not want to live in! The hotel lounge and restaurant have been refurbished but what about the rooms!
