Nice hotel, clean rooms and good access to Ipswich. Parking is a bit hit and miss with limited spaces, plus it is a separate charge. Food is nice and the staff are friendly and helpful staff.

Relatively small rooms, even smaller bathrooms. But centrally located to downtown, closer to the waterfront. Has free Wi-Fi, nice little restaurant and a bar. Doesn't have a controller for the AC in room, so it could get a bit warmer during summer.

Lovely hotel. We had our evening do here and they were very good. Well recommend.

Hotel ok but expected more from this brand. Budget hotels in the area offer better standard rooms and facilities.

Nice big rooms, clean and smart. Staff very friendly. Good view of the roundabout or car park.

We stayed here for a 30year reunion. The hotel was very clean and central and the staff went out of their way to accomadate us the food was lovely hello to Charli behind the bar great bar tender. All staff that we met were very courtious, professional. It was a great weekend you thank novotel.

Comfortable rooms, great location a stone's throw from the centre and the marina.

Nice room bed was a little firm for my liking parking was limited. Breakfast was great and the staff very pleasant and friendly.

Fairly barbones hotel. Lots and lots of noise at night — may be a nightclub nearby? — but even through two doors noise from the hallway is audible. The shower is designed so it sprays out of the tub directly onto the floor, and there is no top sheet (only a blanket) for the bed.

Great place to stay friendly welcome and good for kids it has a kids area with computers and seating which the kids can play in. Gym is good and kids can even have a workout with you. Very clean hotel and lovely rooms with bath and shower and separate toilet very spacious very happy staying here will stay again.

Room was ok, clean, was nothing exceptional but did the job. Safe didn't work. Breakfast was good but had to request tea or coffee. Requested a pot of tea but arrived after I finished my food. Good location. Staff was friendly.

I've been to worse places but I wouldn't go back to this hotel should I visit Ipswich again. Breakfast and the service that went with it were dreadful. Still can't work out how it takes so many staff to run a self service breakfast and still fail miserably. There were only 3 tables with people seated and 4 staff yet our coffee was forgotten about, the stack of clean plates had a dirty one and jug on top so I confused it with a pile of dirty plates and asked for a clean one — the staff then lifted off the top plate and pointed out it was clean underneath. Bacon like leather. Otherwise, the hotel is clean but dated compared to other Novotel I've stayed at. The guy at the desk who looked after our bags after we checked out and booked us a cab was friendly and helpful.

The toilet paper is like sand paper so pick some leaves off the trees on your way to your room to avoid bleeding. The towels smell of formaldehyde so don't sniff them. The front desk guy names Attila will call you lazy if you did not book your room on the Novotel website. I worked out in the tiny closet of a gym with their piddly weights everyday to prove to him I wasn't lazy. I then re used towels to wipe my sweat to help their so called environmental program for trees but they insisted on dropping off new towels and toiletries everyday anyway. It's just a marketing scam I reckon… The breakfast was good the first morning but it was exactly the same everyday. By my 5th day I was happy to eat the leaves I saved for butt whiping for breakfast instead of the buffet. Eh. It beats sleeping on the street I guess.

Only stayed one night but enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend it. Good size room, clean linen and easy to control room temperature.

Overall, it's a nice hotel, the room is spacious and well equipped. However, I found the room to be very warm — uncomfortably so — and opening the window was an issue due to the road noise. Breakfast is top notch.

I was there last night for birthday party and I was impressed with the service. The staff was so friendly and professional. Food also was cooked to a perfection.

Great staff, nice accommodation. Not truly worth its 4* rating, although my rating is based on what it does offer! Could it be better? Yes. Generally well maintained, would say it's a good 3*. Worth the money.

The bedroom was somewhat cold looking and cheerless. Maybe the lighting needs to be improved and some nicer picture (s) on the wall. The breakfast was very good and cannot be faulted. Friendly and helpful staff, especially in the breakfast restaurant.

Very attentive staff, that are led well by the Team Leaders. No complaints as a regular Stop Off for me. Food menu is now being up dated with new ideas which is good.

It was an delight to stay in Novotel, IPSWICH. I was on a business trip for two weeks and the room accommodation in Novotel was completely relaxing. It was an Executive room that I had got which had got spacious bed and sofa with the utility table. The Staff is very polite and friendly. The view from my room was good so I enjoyed most of it. The location of the hotel is also great as its near to the Old Cattle Market Bus stop from where I used to take bus to Adastral Park. The Market is also near by and all the restaurants nearby. Overall it was a very nice experience for me staying in Novotel, Ipswich.

Our Superior Room was extremely clean and comfortable, with the added bonus of a small fridge. Being able to have our small dog in the room with us was the main reason we chose this hotel, and he was made just as welcome as we were. Will definitely stay here again.

The welcome on arrival was very friendly and efficient and the car parking system was explained clearly. You get a special rate of £7 for an overnight stay. The room was modern and well equipped with coffee and tea making facilities as well as toiletries. My room had a sofa bed as well as a good sized double bed. Everything worked properly, including the free Wi-Fi, which was fast and doesn't need a complicated log in. The view over a roundabout wasn't particularly inspiring, but in a city centre hotel, that is to be expected. Breakfast was also good. Plenty of choice, including fruit and cereals, a hot buffet and plenty of rolls and croissants. Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Novotel were great at the evening function we had for my mum's birthday, no doubt due to their new manager. Evening staff were helpful even when their English was limited. Will be interesting to see what happens when the events and catering get taken over by Marco Pierre White. Most of the breakfast staff were unnecessarily rude, and this was disappointing. Overall it was clean, well laid out, mostly well decorated. They still have separate toilets from the bathrooms, continental style. Much nicer inside than it looks from outside. The rooms were a good size and well equipped with hairdryers and irons etc. There was some external noise, as expected from a hotel on a roundabout in a town centre on a Saturday night, closing the window did drown out most of the noise. Very effective air-conditioning. It is a great location for central Ipswich and the Trent quayside, and walking distance from the main station, and good road links in/out of town.

Arrived to friendly greeting and given room and breakfast details promptly. Room clean and fresh and at a good temperature. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was decent quality. A good set up for the day. Recommended as a good hotel, in a good location, handy for marina etc.

Comfortable bed, but loud traffic noise due to busy roundabout just outside window. Have stayed many times before and never had this problem so think this was just due to where room was situated (room 422) Friendly and helpful staff. I ate at hotel and meal was good with a generous portion size. There was a big party in the restaurant so I was expecting a long wait but I was served quickly. Ideally located for shops or restaurants.

Contemporary hotel in the waterside area of Ipswich. Nice bar charging usual hotel bar prices so not the cheapest. Beds comfortable and rooms are well appointed.

The hotel rooms were very clean and also modern and stylish. The staff were also very helpful.

Car park is to small and is not free to park. The refreshments where lacking squash, providing a mixture of coffees and tea's. The biscuits where awful as well the choices. There's nothing wrong with borbones and custed creams and plain chocolate chip cookies. Apart from that then all was well.

Usual Novotel experience. Clean and well equipped rooms. Love the new pillows… old ones were like sleeping on rocks. Shame they've cut back on toiletries in standard rooms. Make sure you take your own shampoo!

Room was good, spacious and comfortable. Plenty of additiona to support this including gown, slippers, comfy bed and bedding and a nespresso machine. Breakfast was what is expected though the sausages were excellent.

I attended a number of courses at the Novotel, couldn't complain. Nice facilities and well located.

Nice central location, friendly staff and nice rooms.

Cheap, cheerful, does what it says but nothing to really set this apart from your average Holiday Inn.
