Fabulous venue with amazing staff. The food is exceptional. We love performing here!

Went for a meal. Just the two of us. Three courses and every one of them was just faultless. Beautifully presented. Packed with flavour. And clearly produced using top quality ingredients. The staff were attentive, without being intrusive. Friendly yet utterly professional. Josh in particular was just great. A well-oiled team, where everyone knows their role. Well done to all. Takes some beating.

Great place full of everything you could want for a short weekend.

A beautiful setting with the most gorgeous grounds. We were a small group who visited for my hen do. The spa was glorious and the girls who work there very efficient and the treatments were great. The only thing I would say about the spa was that the fizz was served just minutes before our treatments (it was supposed to be served on arrival but I had to ask) meaning that we had to drink it very quickly or leave it — it certainly wasn’t the fizz reception we were expecting. The afternoon tea looked and tasted great. Our room 18 was lovely but maybe more than one toilet roll would be appreciated and robes as promised. I know that two of our ladies in room 19 had milk that was out of date (7.5.22) in their mini fridge and ants in their bathroom. The beds super comfortable and the pillows are a dream. Elemis products are a nice touch. The main restaurant — Prosecco reception was brilliant this time and the main food manager was lovely but he disappeared half way through the night and the staff that we did have (two females) knew nothing of the menu and when serving dishes didn’t know if the steak we had ordered was medium rare etc — maybe they were new in position but training is certainly recommended as I would expect staff to be fully trained on the menu, what dishes are coming out of the kitchen and clean away unused glasses. The food was just yummy (5* to the chef and his team). Breakfast was a delight too — those hash browns and black pudding … delicious.

Absolutely fantastic! Me and my new husband thought this place was faultless! We will be coming back for our anniversary. Spa was lovely, food amazing and all the staff were all so friendly and warm. Thank you for having us.

Would definitely recommend this place. We wanted to arrange a last minute private engagement meal for close family & Kesgrave Hall went above & beyond to accommodate us. The staff are professional & we were treated as very special guests. The food portions are more than adequate. Starters ranged from parsnip soup to houmous. Main meals among others were pork collar & ricotta gnocchi. There were a choice of desserts, but creme brulee was a definite favourite. Thank you to everyone that made our evening one to remember.

Had a lovely dinner, bed and breakfast — good value for money if you think about what you get. After our recent disastrous stay at a well known adults only hotel chain, would definitely recommend this as the cost worked out almost the same but only a 10 minute drive to get there. Thank you to all of the staff for their excellent customer service as well.

Fantastic food, lovely surroundings and friendly staff. We love coming here! Visited today for afternoon tea and it was absolutely delicious. Im gluten intolerant and everything was amazing — especially the scone. So much better than anything ive had anywhere else. The covid restrictions are there and make you feel safe, but without being too intrusive. Cant wait to go back again!

Very disappointed after our NCT reunion which we held at Milsoms yesterday (Sunday) morning in the lounge. We were a group of 8 couples with our babies, and all ordered food and drinks for the 2 hours we were there. We all experienced rudeness from staff and were made to feel unwelcome. Most of us are local to Milsoms and have been loyal customers in the past, so were quite taken aback to be dealt with in the way we were. It is clearly not a place to meet for a coffee if you have children anymore! — с Jo Jones и Tom Moore.

We came in for dinner for my mother in laws birthday tonight and the service was appalling. We waited a ridiculous amount of time in between courses and after waiting 40 minutes for our dessert found out they had never been ordered. When we told the staff noone made an effort to bring them out and they didn't even apologise. We were ignored all evening, I dont think anyone even came to ask us if we wanted more drinks the whole time we were there. Usually the service and food is very good and we were quite disappointed with our experience on this occasion!

Went to the mid summer ball last night. Really good food, excellent service and great music. And value for money. Ladies looking great but guys, for God’s sake smarten up! less than 30% of men in actual black tie. Lots of wedding suits brought out of the closet and even some chinos and brown boots. The clues in the name — midsummer Ball. Not midsummer dinner dance or midsummer pub lunch.

Lovely venue but we think the food, although always very high quality, is getting too pricey! Love the setting and the restaurant is very friendly and comfortable with a nice atmosphere.

Lovely hotel, rooms, comfy king sized bed, everything complementary in the rooms, water, pop and tea and coffee! Room service and the restaurant are both amazing! Loved it! Stayed for three days on business and will definitely use this hotel in the future!

Had the best day ever Saturday celebrating my son's wedding to his beautiful bride! Milsoms staff could not do enough for us all especially Ginny and Josh who were amazing! The food was incredible and service just as good! Beautiful surroundings too! Highly recommend this for a wedding!

Despite its rather austere look, this restaurant is a gem. The menu is varied and imaginative and the food is delicious. The service was excellent and the ambience warm and friendly. Eating here is an experience not to be missed.

Lovely hotel — the rooms are amazing and we were lucky to get a garden view room which overlooked the lovely lawns. The breakfast is fantastic — the weather was lovely so we were able to eat out on the terrace. A wonderful start to the day! I can't wait to come back again and celebrate another special occassion — Kesgrave Hall is the perfect place to celebrate.

Came for my sister in laws wedding on Saturday 28th and I have to say the staff did everything to help make her day as magical as possible! Couldn’t be faulted! My husband and I were staying with our 5 young children and the staff made sure we had enough beds and a travel cot suitable for all children which made the stay much less stressful knowing we were altogether! The other thing that struck me was the fact that not only did the ladies toilets have baby changing facilities, but the men’s toilets also had baby change facilities in! Pretty much every other function I have been to either have no baby change or they think that only mother change babies! Fantastic hotel! Fantastic staff and definitely an establishment I would recommend! Sadly 5* is the most I can give because I would happily give more! Thankyou to your staff for helping my sister in law and her husband have a day they will cherish forever!

I held a charity ball in Milsoms hanger in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance last month. Gwenny the events coordinator was so helpful from start to finish and the event ran so smoothly on the night. We were able to access in plenty of time to set up, the evening ran to time, our guests had delicious food and the venue was top quality. Gwenny was also so supportive and friendly. Thank you Milsoms!

This is a beautiful venue. I've lunched here and attended a coffee morning, both for business, and it was top quality. I've never stayed here socially but it's now on my bucket list!

Set in a really beautiful country location, this hotel has a large covered terrace (serving afternoon tea) overlooking lawns and woodland. Our daughter booked two very spacious double ground floor rooms, each with large well-equipped modern bathrooms, all in a well-positioned annexe house. Restaurant service was excellent with a good menu selection and generous portions but, sadly, two meals out of four were rather disappointing (perhaps partly because we chose roast meat "Sunday Specials" for our 8pm dinner reservation). Large number of chefs were on view working in the kitchen so we had anticipated perfection! We would certainly go back again, when we can afford it, and rate our overall experience as well above average, just somewhat let down by disappointing Sunday evening. Food, hence four stars instead of five.

We stayed one night booking in late and arriving not long after! Really lovely grounds and fantastic room. Breakfast was lovely too.

This hotel was amazing, the best hotel I’ve stayed in the UK. The services was brilliant, from ordering food late at night, too having the taxi ordered for me in the morning. The food was excellent, the breakfast in-particular. The rooms were very spacious and clean and complementary drinks which was nice. I would Highly recommend if in Ipswich. The stay was expensive but well worth the service and hospitality.

Wonderful restaurant. I haven't been to the hotel but from what I've heard it sounds quite good. The food is amazing (a bit pricy but nice every once in a while). The big field is great for kids to run around, and there are a few balls too. Waiting times for me have been average, but the staff are great.

Went to Milsoms for husband's birthday with parents. Food was excellent and so was the hospitality. Unfortunately my Dad had a fall there but was looked after very well. Nothing was too much trouble.

I've visited for drinks many times but this was the first time I've stayed and it was a totally different experience. The room was large, with great amenities but the staff couldn't have been better. They all seemed really happy working for Milsoms and were very helpful and polite … even after long shifts.

Lovely place with great staff. Food is great, fresh and unfussy. Have stayed many times and never had anything less than a five star experience.

Fantastic dining with a great selection on the menu. I visited with colleagues from work and spent a pleasant few hours sampling their extensive menu. Started with spiced whitebait which tasted so fresh and the spice was an unexpected twist. I had a sirloin steak for my entrée with a great pepper sauce — but note that it comes with fries so if you order fat chips you get two portions. Pudding was a banana sponge with toffee sauce, as good as it sounds. Stunning surroundings too.

Awesome. The listed building, with all its history as a residence, school, WW II Air squadon quarters and now a luxury hotel with restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms with a quaint touch. Superb food quality in the restaurant. No British wines though, which is a pity considering the now high quality of near Kent and Norfolk wines. Nice details like the enormous keys for the rooms, antique style, but with an RFID tag attached to do their job in a modern way.

We really enjoyed our stay the location is nice and out of the way and quiet. We got a free upgrade to one of the top rooms which was incredible. The food was amazing service was good and was all round Amazing will definitely be back.

I think that you should be able to order your food from your table not have to write it out. It would be nice to be able to discuss the menu whilst ordering. The lunchtime menu was not appealing so we ordered the soup which was not hot enough. There was ravioli available but we would have liked another pasta dish.

One of my favourite places for a nice supper or just a relaxing drink. The menu is very varied and I can always recommend the fish. My kids love the burger. I recently tried their breakfast and found the service and food excellent. Terrific at any time of the day for a meal or just a drink (love the Sancerre).

We dined for a friend's engagement celebration. The food was amazing, but the service was flakey. I've eaten here couple of times before and it's been great! But this time, the chaps in the restaurant swanning about in suits, seemed to look down on us, when we asked him to open the bottle of champagne we had for the table, he simply opened it and walked away. No offer to serve the table? just general bad attitude. I don't know maybe I'm being picky, but I've dined in much cheaper places in the area and the service has been far better. I will come back because the food in second to none, and I hope I can improve the rating next time.

Attractive venue. Food was very average and portions rather small but it was a large scale christmas lunch. Was expecting something of a better standard so rather disappointed.

Lovely place to go. Had a Christmas meal with work here and was very impressed. Will go again.

A very nice restaurant, in very nice grounds, on the outskirts of Ipswich (15 minutes by car). You cannot make a reservation (unless staying as a guest at the hotel). Not usually an issue, but can be a wait. Food is good without being spectacular.

Best Thai chicken curry I have had so far by far.
Great to relax and quality dine.
Bit noisy but that does not really matter as so many rooms you can retire too and relax after the meal.
The whole experience would have gained five stars but alas I can not give this as basically the friendly banter I like between myself and the staff was not present. They are very professional and will look after your every whim without any hesitation but I found they acted a bit robot like.
What I meant by this comment is not a negative comment about the staff and service in anyway as our night of dining was second to none.
All I am saying is
I understand that the dining experience has to be professional and it was in every way and I can not justify to say otherwise.
I just would like a bit of interaction between us and the server.
They are instructed to be professional and they were in every way but a little joke got a response as if they were not allowed to interact in any way at all.
Not allowed to laugh or interact.
Great night and enjoyed so much but let the server decide where the limits are please Fantastic evening and loved it.

Peaceful and relaxing outside space to enjoy a meal. Various cosy spaces indoors too. Good service and delicious sandwiches.

Great venue, good food and drink, lovely setting! Visited again (05/10/2017). The food and drink again was really good, however, there seems to have been a price increase since our last trip here. With that in mind, I will have to drop the star rating by 1. £9.95 for an Aperol Spritz seems rather pricey. The menu seems to have also had a price increase across the board, so the value for money is not so good. There are quite a few other places in the area that serve up equally good food and drink for less money.

Tonight was my 5th visit this year, tonight the food was not as good on previous visits and I always have the same menu my wife also stated standards had dropped. We did not recognise any staff, cooks, waiters, bar staff so I can only concluded most of the staff have been replaced and the food not as well cooked or presented, my steak should have been medium it was rare, it was almost impossible to cut and very grisly I had to leave it. The ombuance was different we will give a rest before going back, which is a shame, the menu is a bit restricted as well.

Had Sunday lunch at this lovely estate. The food was delicious, from roast beef and Yorkshire pudding to monkfish. This was a lunch with 3 generations. The children could explore the garden and estate between courses while the grownups chatted. It was very relaxed and friendly, yet elegant. Staff were attentive and professional. This is a favorite place with our hosts and we see why.

Stayed a single night for a professional event recently, service was exemplory at all times, professional yet friendly. The room I stayed in was cleaned to a high degree and tastefully furnished with the complimentary drinks much appreciated. The food on offer has been prepared by a kitchen that is clearly experienced and well trained, both the 3 course set meal and breakfast in the morning ran like clockwork and was delicious Couldn't recommend their services more, a luxurious retreat if you want to indulge yourself.

It's such a shame people's expectations are so high. Some of the disappointing reviews surprise me. I had lunch with my friend yesterday and photographed the food served. My friend posted it on face book. We immediately got loads of comments of food envy and how amazing the setting looked as we were outside viewing the perfectly lawned gardens.
We had great service both from young staff and the manager. I noticed how happy the staff were and worked well as a team. One female member of staff engaged in conversation with us and showed great interest in us in a very polite manner. She was a delight and very well trained.
Our meal which was from the lunch menu was very generous and probably the nicest smoked salmon I have tasted. The price was very reasonable. We stayed in the beautiful outside dining area for nearly 4 hours not wanting to go home. We shared a dessert, sticky toffee pud and the staff were very accommodating providing two dessert spoons. They also asked if we wanted our tea with our dessert and it all came together. The restaurant was busy but all our food came quickly.
Our total bill was not expensive, no more expensive than what you would pay at an everyday pub/bistro. Kesgrave hall is beautiful, the costs upkeeping the hotel must be high and obviously the beauty and grandeur of the hall adds to the whole dining experience. This has to be incorporated in the costs somehow and yet really the prices are not much.

The staff make it special. No expense has been spared in fitting out this fabulous place. The rooms were special and luxurious and attention to detail 100% but the staff made this a place I would return another time.

Lovely location but the thing I don't like about the Milsoms brand is that they don't take your order at the table. For the prices they charge they should offer all sorts of table service.

Great venue, lovely grounds and very good food. You pay a bit more but that is to be expected… location and quality. Afternoon tea is a bit pricey but they keep bringing sandwiches and scones out so you won't go home hungry.

Lovely setting, great food but sadly a bit disorganised for Father's Day breakfast. They seemed a little understaffed and disappointingly we were not allowed to sit outside at 8am as we had before, in case residents needed a table (not a soul outside so early). May not be our favourite special breakfast place now.

Hit and miss I've been here a handful of times the location is lovely, great for the children to play and have fun but the food is not up to standard. Great location for a drink! I've had one of the best starters I've ever had here followed by an un-edible main! I've just had a burger and had to send it back as it was dry and gristley, disappointing sort it out! (Although refunded for burger)

My first visit there for a meal with friends. Experienced good food, plenty of friendly efficient waiting staff, and good food. The guys in the 'engine room' deserve a special mention for their hard work and excellent tasty food. Would definitely visit again.

We had been here previously for dinner but for my daughters birthday decided to try their afternoon tea. Well it was a good job we'd only had breakfast. It was a complete meal lovely fresh sandwiches, scones jam and cream and an array of little cakes. Best one I've ever had. The grounds are wonderful with tables strewn away from the hotel if you wish or beside the dining room with some under cover and some for the sun lovers. Very efficient service but not in your face. Very relaxed atmosphere. It's walk in so you don't have to book. We have always had good meals here.

Kesgrave Hall is located just outside of Ipswich and is surrounded by woodlands. The food is consistently good and I have always found the experience value for money. The staff are always attentive and polite.

It is a good place to eat. The price is starting to look expensive vs equivalent food at the Maybush Inn but it is a place you can dress up (which is rare in this part of Suffolk. ) The lack of reservations is a real turn off.

The food it fantastic. I've never been there when it's been busy, but for a few extra pounds, you can get a much better Sunday roast. Very impressed. It's my 4th visit. Don't get me wrong, it's by no means a cheap outing, but definitely worth it.
