We had the most delicious meal at The Oaksmere on Easter Sunday. The food was amazing, so tasty and our dietary needs were catered for so well. We got married here 12 years ago and chose it due to its beautiful grounds and building. Such a special place and great for kids too with the pirate ship play area and huge gardens. Will be back again soon!

Stayed in the Patterson suite which was absolutely stunning. Amazing evening meal. Didn’t want to leave and will certainly be going back. Thoroughly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was always a great hotel but is now getting back on its feet after Covid. However still has a lot to do and falls short little details. But a great say away.

This place is amazing! The hotel room we stayed in, was utterly stunning. The food was the best food I'd had in such a long time. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. I 10000% recommend. 🥰

Worst service I have ever had. 45 mins for drinks that were still wrong despite 2 people taking the same order, stale afternoon tea, failed to deduct the deposit I had paid in advance and then still overcharged me once deposit removed. Staff wandering around like headless chickens. No apology when I complained in person, no reply to my complaint email. Don't waste your time or money. Establishment has really gone downhill.

Service is very slow. Takes forever to get a drink, then it isnt always served correctly or the wrong drink.
the menu isnt very inspiring if you stay a couple of nights. No specials using local area products for example. The staff need training better. Some dont know how to handle simple complaints they just ignore them and bury their head…
They dont seem to be aware of the order people arrive and take their drinks or food order. Lots of walking about but non productive reflected also in management. Managemnet need to address complaints and be consistent. Respond to all trip advisor comments and not be selective!
food hygiene needs improving, uncovered food in hot weather, cross contamination, use of gloves. Cheers need to up their game … basic breakfasts not consistent and cold.

Dining outside with the family in Tier 2. Fantastic food, great ambience. Well done. Felt totally safe! Furry rugs and lots of layers to keep me warm. Food excellent.

Beautiful venue, staff are so welcoming, professional and go above and beyond. The food is amazing and even in this really uncertain and tough time The Oaksmere have adapted their facilities to bring us Safe Covid Secure dining in a gorgeous setting! I can highly recommend this establishment!

Amazing decor tasty and flavoursome meals. Very well priced. Mock tails very nice.

I had THE best stay at this hotel. Beautiful layout and design with original architecture truly stunning. Walk into a room with a jacuzzi bath, a huge bathroom with double shower (incredible) a bed that made me fall asleep in minutes and woke up in the morning completely pain free (usually suffer with bad back in the morning! ) dinner was out of this world. Incredible soup to die for. Then the show stopper chataeubriand beef with a creamy pepper sauce. I haven’t had this since I was in Paris, I have never seen it in a british restaurant so this was an easy choice. I grinned ear to ear the entire meal. The next day I said the only way it could be topped was if there was eggs benedict on the breakfast menu… guess what?! IT WAS! 100/100 for this place! We will be back!

Pip who dealt with us last night is the only reason I’d recommend this place. We came to set up a 30th surprise meal and I found the front of staff rude, caught them saying the F word… not professional at all. As it was a special evening for us I thought pip was excellent it’s a shame his seniors weren’t so accommodating.

Had a lovely birthday meal, very good food, excellent service. Comfortable atmosphere. Prompt and keen staff, very enjoyable experience.

Had a lovely time at the oaksmere for our wedding anniversary stayed in lovely cornwsllus suite do not thing that let the place down was the poor quality scrambled egg at breakfast which I sent back and got same thing back was horrible bland and tasteless.

The professional but very friendly service, the building and gardens, the suite we booked was amazing and spotlessly clean. The food was out of this world, perfectly cooked, incredibly tasty and the wine list was wide ranging and inexpensive. All in all a perfect anniversary celebration. We will return very soon to show you off to our mates!

Lovely food, good selection of drinks and a garden terrace that's second to none. Topped with very well maintained gardens, it's the place to be on a summer's day… Or any other day…

This is our second stay here, our first was our wedding night 2 years ago. Absolutely stunning grounds and even more stunning buildings. Even though we live about 10miles away it feels like we’re in another world filled with luxury within your own little sanctuary — highly recommend the Cornwallis suite but all the rooms are so tastefully designed with loads of gadgets. It is the perfect balance of old meets new!

Superb food, gorgeous surroundings, nothing too much trouble for the helpful friendly staff x will be back.

Absolutely awful, rude and unhelpful staff. The furniture outside had sent better days and I had to sit on a broken chair. Can't see how it will survive.

Had an amazing anniversary here. They had made it all fab for us. The meal was lovely n the room was awesome. Wud recommend to any1 to visit.

Amazing stay here! Loved all of it! The steak is to die for! I was quite upset when I had finished it as I never wanted it to stop (despite it's immense size! )!

Love the hot air balloons taking off in the morning. Excellent champagne breakfast too!

Beautiful settings faulty towers staff. Asked for lager got bitter . Wrong mains reaching over every one. Took order for drinks left empty glasse Wrong desert. Disappearing staff. Cap it all overcharged my creditcard.

A lovely hotel that had thought of everything to make the hotel room a luxurious experience.

Visited for lunch on recommendation. Venue beautiful, food lovely but have never experienced such incompetent and rude waiting staff at such an upmarket venue. It really spoilt the whole experience. It really felt like we were an inconvenience and we we're actually 'tutted' at when we weren't ready to order when waiter came to table. Sorry, don't like posting negative reviews but feel that you should know as it reflects badly on what is otherwise a superb venue.

We were squeezed in as a last minute reservation and I have to say, we were treated well. Our table was off to the side so lovely and private and their chateubriand was to die for. We will be regulars here I can see.

Great waiter who was very friendly and helpful. We were late to our table as we hadn't seen our friends in the bar area which is a shame but they weren't cross. Menu is good, but nothing really spoke to me initially. Also sadly only found out about the free taxi service home which was a shame!

Truely incredible lunch. All staff very attentive with smiles. Beautiful restaurant lighting, decor and ambience. On a cold day the restaurant was perfectly heated with a roaring log fire. The food was cooked to perfection. Elegant presentation with each element exciting in flavour. A must visit. Very excited to visit again and to introduce to friend and family.

Food was good and service was friendly. Rather slow to provide desert as if we had been forgotten. Bill also seemed to take a long time to arrive, although this may be perceived to be a good thing. Lovely surroundings, well appointed.

Really nice ambionce, food was really nice, well cooked! (even though the portion size left a little to be desired). The wine list is comprehensive and the service was very attentive without being over the top. On the whole a really good experience and a good addition to our stock of local restaurants. 4 3/4 stars. Lovely birthday meal for the other half and we were delighted with the evening and the food. We had a bad experience a couple years ago and I am glad to recommend this place now. Staff were very helpful.

Beautiful setting, lovely restaurant but food was dreadful overpriced tasteless and we certainly will not be returning. Such a pity. I had the crayfish cocktail it was a very small mould of crayfish and there was nothing at all with it not even a salad leaf we were not even offered bread. I then had the Crispy Belly pork which was not even a little crispy, I was told when I ordered that it came on a bed of salad leaves only! I ordered roasted new potatoes which were obviously forgotten as I did not get them until I had just about finished the couple of little slices of belly pork and I was eating very very slowly, they did knock the price off for the potatoes but this is unacceptable. I don't mind paying for good food and service but here we received neither. They need to get the food and service to a much better standard.

Dined at their lovely restaurant for a family members birthday. The good was out of this world. The service was perfect with friendly and very attentive staff. I could not find one single thing to fault.

It's nice here, best in summer outside. However, everything a bit overpriced for what it actually is, also food is disappointing. Had a Wellington recently, which looked great (as all meals do) but just had no taste. Bird could have been anything as it had no flavour and was tough.

The Oaksmere organised my Grandsons christening. Very professional service and Marie and her team did a wonderful job. The buffet lunch was outstanding especially the roastbeef and the homemade scotch eggs All cooked in house. We had a private bar and the sole use of three private rooms. If you are looking for a lovely location for a function then the Oaksmere could well fit the bill. Highly recommended.

Me and my finance stayed here last night, the 2nd year in a row we have visited oaksmere, what a difference a year can make. The extensions they’ve had, modern decor just the general refurb work they’ve under taken made this experience even better than the first time. Having the luxury of being shown around the grounds and the rooms they have to offer was a lovely touch and greatly received by us. Bluetooth sound system, electric curtains, spa bath the list is endless of quality features to enjoy in the room. We shall 100% be visiting for a 3rd time and look forward to see even more possible changes! We aren’t ones to leave reviews but felt we would this time as our experience was one of the best we have ever had!

Chic place. Steak was really good. Went there for a wedding, staff was really friendly and attentive. It’s not your typical pub full of drunks.

Stayed here for one night as a birthday treat. Room, staff, grounds, restaurant and food were absolutely spot on!
Our friends who live locally joined us for dinner and the hotel gave them a free lift back home in their shuttle bus.
The only disappointment was that the cocktail bar wasn't open as we were informed it would be and we do like a cocktail after dinner.
Overall a lovely stay and would certainly recommend.

We stopped here for a pint whilst cycling, it's well posh, but not bad prices. Looks great.

Had a very nice meal in the restaurant, service was very good nothing to complain about very relaxed atmosphere, also we had drinks in the bar and cocktail bar also very nice. Would highly recommend this place lovely grounds to walk around.

Beautiful hotel with Spa baths in the rooms. An excellent new extension offers a smart restaurant with wonderful Suffolk hospitality. It is in a quiet area and we had a lovely experience there. Will certainly visit again.

Stayed three nights, spent time with family in three different rooms. Outstanding service, terrific bathrooms, great beds. Grounds are very scenic, restaurant and bar are good (excellent for local standards).

Went for Sunday lunch, no Lamb ordered Pork, Pork came only two pieces of Pork, ask'd for some more, none left. No stuffing, veg overcooked, all in all very bad day at the office. Over rated, over priced, this is the second time they have got it wrong, will not go again. Had a better Sunday lunch at the Caston Red Lion and all for a £5.00!
