Good hotel. Helpful reception. Great breakfast. Staff helpful. Have information about foods my son could eat with egg and milk allergy. Lovely swimming pool. Little but warm and clean. Highly recommended. Will visit again.

4* for the staff, the bed is very comfortable and the breakfast has a lot of variety. Just a bit dated or it would of been 5*. Would definitely recommend to my family and friends.

No breakfast or staff available before 7, seriously. Rooms are ok and a decent size. Bathroom well appointed.

Friendly, independent hotel (well, small chain). Rooms were nicely decorated, clean, spacious and comfy. Breakfast was good, facilities good (for a smaller hotel) and location handy.

Have been a few times for meals in the past, and decided to go for a Sunday Lunch for my Grandad's Birthday. Majority of staff apart from the manager seemed disinterested, making a number of mistakes throughout our meal which were addressed with a lack of apology and resolution. The service and food quality has taken a bit of a dive in my opinion, and it's a shame considering on our previous visits it's been very decent.

Clean and comfortable. Staff can not do enough for you. (Cleaners, reception, bar staff, restaurant all can't do enough). Traditional building with a bar and restaurant. Recommend the afternoon tea. Lovely little pool… Perfect for the kids (my son had his first swim here and it was perfect. Nice and warm and had the pool to ourselves). Modern bathroom with good Internet and everything you'd expected from the room. Stayed twice so far. Will be back!

Lovely interior although we only visited for a wake so I can't comment on the food or the rooms.

Pleasant stay, friendly and helpful staff. Good, clean room with excellent bath and shower facilities. Breakfast was a little disappointing.

Absolutely retarded. It took them 20 minutes to get us drinks and they couldn't even do that correctly. They then shoved the tray onto the table knocking all our personal belongings onto the floor. My drink wasn't even hot. It could hardly qualify as warm. Sad!

Room isn't particularly clean and very dated furniture/fittings/en suite. Bar has poor choice of draught beers but food is adequate. Good swimming pool and gym for the price.

Warm, small pool very suitable for grandparents to bring a 10 month baby. Suitable change table area accessible from both male and female change area for family changing.

Having wedding there. So far so good with answering questions and helping out with the preparations.

Very reasonable for a room with breakfast. Breakfast was very good and nice produce in the cooked breakfast. Room was comfortable but a bit dated and needs a bit of a freshen up. Comfortable bed and room was very spacious.

Visited on Thursday 23 November 2017 for an Andrew Mason Bridge Presentation in a conference room at The Stone House Hotel. The car park was very full but managed to squeeze in — about 120 people attending the conference so not surprising that it was full! The conference room was up a flight of stairs although discovered there was a lift later. The room was spacious, warm and the conference venue was very well received by the visitors. The bar was downstairs and some visitors had to wait a considerable time to get served due to the number of visitors. At the end of the conference we had to take back six bridge tables in our vehicle — the staff kindly offered to help to carry some of them down the stairs to the car — thankfully!

Excellent escape from the busy city of London! Very peaceful, very green, lovely food, very good service! Pool, gym, lovely walks, what more to ask for. Feeling rejuvenated after a long weekend. Thank you.

Used hotel via work. Perfectly adequate. Restaurant good. Room well furnished. Looked refurbished. But furniture tired. Recommended.

Stayed overnight for business. Room was lovely. Bed was too soft for my liking, but was only for one night. Ate at the restaurant, very enjoyable (had the seared cod). Receptionist was a complete star in the morning trying to get me a taxi. Would recommend hotel.

I always get the refurbished rooms here and they are lovely. The staff are amazing and the food is always spot on. Everytime I am in Stafford this is my first choice.

Rooms are spacious and nice. Restaurant doesn't have good vegetarian options. No complimentary water in room.

Three star hotel, three star review. All staff were polite and helpful. Rooms felt very dated and lighting was poor, very dull. Dark, ornate wood furniture didn't help, some was pretty tatty. Room felt cold and damp in the morning… Breakfast was good with a decent selection of warm and cold options. Plenty of parking, decent pool, and good function room Based on room quality Vs price I'd only give it 2 stars, seemed quite expensive for what we got. Given the other facilities and nice staff it deserves 3. Modernising and brightening up the rooms would help a great deal!

We had a lovely overnight stop well worth a visit. Restaurant was excellent.

Had heard mixed reports about this place, but on a stay over the Bank Holiday weekend, the rooms were modern and well prepared and the breakfast good. Generally helpful staff and a decent pool. A tad noisy with a wedding party, but otherwise fair value.

Good location and easily accessible from the A34, about 10mins from M6 J14. Nice decor with a relaxed atmosphere. Only had a couple of drinks so cant comment on food or rooms. Staff were friendly, helpful and polite.

Had a fantastic 25th anniversary at the stone house hotel staff were very helpful and friendly I was in a wheelchair and they were there to help all the time and nothing seemed to be too much would really recommend this hotel we stayed overnight and had Sunday lunch and the food was great too.

Went for possible wedding venue. They were very informative and proffessional.

Enjoyed our overnight stay. Rooms were comfortable and clean and bathroom was well fitted with bath and overhead shower. Breakfast was good with full English on offer and cereal available.

We stayed at the Stone House hotel just for the night. It was very reasonably priced, the staff were very friendly and helpful, with local information and ordering a taxi etc. The room was clean and very well presented, and everything you need was catered for. We didn't eat in the restaurant until breakfast, but did for breakfast which was a selection of self service choices, good selection. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Following a family wedding on the previous day, we had a lovely Sunday lunch which was served very quickly at each course, with good-sized portions. Staff were attentive and courteous.

They are very understaffed and none of the staff seem to be friendly. The Wi-Fi is god awful and everything is outdated. Other than that it has a nice nostalgic feel.

Very poor quality room, very small, cold and depressing. Other parts of the hotel (lobby, bar and resturant) were better.

It is a nice venue, but they let our party down by serving substandard food which was initially frozen and then only partially cooked. Previous visits have been better.

Next to the window, there was an incredibly noisy aircon machine, that switched on/off every 5 min 24 hours day. I could not sleep well at all. Mattress was not flat, really old and uncomfortable. Staff was friendly, I complained about the noise and they gave me another room, but noisy too. Facilities includes swimming pool, sauna and a gym. I used the sauna to help myself recover from the first night. Breakfast was ok, room was clean. I would not recommend it.
