Great hotel clean and very spacious bedroom! Lovely staff and great food! Coming back to stay new years eve for two nights and the meal on new year's eve! Would recommend to all!

After a very long year I couldn't of picked a place in all of the uk to have our first roast and beer the staff and the food our second to none in all the country a good tip was s absolute pleasure will be back asap.

The Corner House team have fully supported their local NHS workers seeing us through this challenging time. This place has become almost home.
The rooms have their own unique vibe, and having lived here rather then stayed for a night or two, I cannot fault them! They’re functional, well maintained and just lovely.
The team here are amazing, nothing is ever too much trouble. They’ve faced this challenge head on and supported us physically and mentally, I cannot thank them enough.
Once this madness is over, I’ll be frequenting the hotel for its vast services, their food, their drinks and most importantly their customer service.
They’re professional and friendly. They really are fantastic and I cannot thank them enough.

First visit to corner house hotel today for sunday Lunch. We were not disappointed the food was great and the staff were really friendly and attentive. Could not fault anything would definitely recommend.

Lovely couple of nights spent here. We had breakfast cooked for us both mornings and it was delicious. All the staff are so helpful and extremely friendly, would definitely recommend this hotel.

What a great hotel. Great nights stay. No noise from guests even though we overlooked main road and had windows open very quiet.

Came for 3 nights. Had a very small room which I asked to change but was told no other rooms were available. Bed was almost in the claustraphobic bathroom. Shower was no more than a dribble so do not visit if you need to wash your hair! Last time I stayed I was told this was because of the water company digging up the road but this was clearly not the case. However, the last time I stayed, 6 months ago I had a very nice room for a 3 night stay. This time would have been ok for an overnight stay. Next time I will be back in the castle hotel. All said, I cannot fault the food. Definitely the place to eat but not stay more than one night. Cleanliness and service deserve a lot more than the 2 stars I have awarded for my stay on this occasion.

Very disappointing, we had been recommended by a friend who frequents the hotel, but found a very unpleasant & antagonistic receptionist, Maddison. We had to wait till 4.45pm before we could check into our room which was made even worse by the stony faced receptionist when she barked at us that it was not her job to make sure the rooms were ready for us. She obviously hadn't had any training to deal with these situations. In fact she made comments about me on two occasions, one to another customer and another to a member of staff in earshot of me. Very unprofessional! Neither myself, my party or the friend who suggested we stay there, will not ever stay there again because of this silly little girl. Very expensive for what you get, clean enough, but the bad experience has left a sour taste.

Very convenient to the town and nice clean modern little hotel. We were in a compact double which had everything you'd need and didn't feel too claustrophobic. We ate in the restaurant which was very nice and well priced but portions huge. We thankfully found somewhere else you park as I would of begrudged paying £10 for a nights parking there — I've been at hotels in London and paid less. Would of been 5* for our experience but husband had a terrible nights sleep on a pretty hard mattress. Would recommend!

We had a great day at The Corner House Hotel. The food was great and staff were excellent. Nothing too much trouble. An ideal venue for a small family Wedding. Only wish that more staff were manning bar in evening reception.

This is a top place to stay in Taunton, super lovely staff, great food, bar and wine selection. Just on the edge of the town centre, parking at the rear of the hotel. Rooms are modern and I think most have a bath and shower in the room bathrooms. Prices for staying are reasonable but not cheap, this is not a travel lodge. Rooms also come with a small fridge and brew making equipment. I would highly recommend this hotel if your planning a visit.

Great location, walkable to town centre and train station. The rooms were modern, clean and big enough. All staff were lovely and although I didn't eat the menu looked good.

Main road location with parking and walking distance to town centre (10 minute stroll). Rooms small but clean and tidy. Good ensuite with nice shower. No lift so if you have mobility problems check with management they might have rooms on ground floor. Very good service, friendly staff and great food.

The sockets are placed at the worst positions and the shower is tiny af. After I showered, water was everywhere in the bathroom and the shower felt like nothing was coming out. What about the socket in the bathroom? You can’t even plug your hairdryer in. There is nearly no space to place objects and the window in the bathroom isn’t actually stopping cold air from coming in. I still don’t understand why there are 2 heaters, but only one of them is working. Anyway, it’s quite cute and comfortable, nice food and at least a TV. Don’t really know what the fan is good for…

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate the New Year. We can't say enough about what a wonderful time we had and how enjoyable and relaxed the occasion was. The staff were extremely friendly and did their upmost to ensure everyone had a great time celebrating the new year. Our room was clean and tidy and more than met our needs. Breakfast was great, but our evening meal made us feel like we were eating in a top class restaurant. We will definitely be coming back. Well done Corner House Hotel. Karen and Martin Cox Tamworth.

Fantastic Christmas break, happy helpful staff, good food what more could you ask for.

Was here with a Welsh Male Voice Choir shortly before our concert nearby. Our Christmas dinner was delicious. Nice selection of beers, modern and clean premises and the staff couldn't do enough. Will definitely pop in if I am around Taunton again.

I had a function hosted in the Retreat restaurant this evening and I cannot praise the Hotel enough for this. The function room was well laid out with plenty of atmosphere and some good background music, but the star of the show was the wonderful cold buffet. So many of the guests commented on it, great food, beautifully presented and displayed, of really high quality. The Pavlova was something to behold and tasted divine. The staff were excellent too, everything was done without any fuss at all, indeed they were attentive yet no-one realised that everything was being dealt with. This evening has genuinely exceeded all my expectations. Simply brilliant.

Came to taunton on a training course for work. Stayed in The Corner House for one night. The room was spotless. Comfortable bed. I was more than happy with the fluffy white towels and the pristine condition of the bathroom. The mini fridge had all I needed. They even had decent tea bags.
The staff were lovely. The dinner menu had a good choice including vegetarian options.
I would happily stay there again.

A nice hotel, with comfortable rooms although the cardboard-thin walls made for a poor night's sleep. We only had breakfast which was really nice and the staff were lovely too so overall a 4 star rating.

I would like to rate this hotel better but I feel that, above all it is overpriced. The room was very small (it has almost 50 rooms, but economies of scale are not reflected in the prices). The breakfast is good enough, though the sausages had an aftertaste that worried me at the time. The staff are very helpful. Sorry cannot be more positive.

Very friendly staff, good food at a fair price. Rooms good value for what they are, my double was a good size with modern bathrom. Shame not much storage place for clothes.

Room was very small, the service was not friendly or welcoming at all. However it's perfectly located, and easy to find.

Lovely Hotel, it has its own maze. (Trying to find you Bedroom). During the summer months it lacks air conditioning and it too noisy to leave windows open, especially if your room is near the main road. Restaurant is very good maybe during the busy times it may be a bit understaffed and during my stay the restaurant was waited on by the bar staff… I would stay again, if only to find my room…

Good location with useful on site car parking, albeit a squeeze at times. The room is well equipped and Wi-Fi is perfectly fine. Two little niggles: no bedside table and the loo is squeezed into a corner where it's enclosed on three sides.

Lovely Victorian hotel, walking distance to town centre. Downstairs, the bar and restaurant have recently been refurbished and are very pleasant spaces to spend time in. My room was a compact double, luckily I was omy own because two people would have got on each others way. No room for a bedside table. Very comfy bed, decent TV, iron and board, hairdryer, fridge, minibar with proper wineglasses. My full English breakfast was very good, decent quality sausages and bacon, coffee that tasted of coffee. Car park is an issue for some, but I got my largish estate in and out easily enough. Overall I was pleased and would return.

Spent a few night here for work. The main entrance is from the car park but if happen to walk in through the other door it's a bit hard to find reception. Rooms (I was in a double) were very spacious and bathroom was a good size with both a bath and shower. The room temperature was unable to be altered (no air conditioning) but the room stayed a constant comfortable temperature. The beds are really comfortable and I usually use a memory foam mattress so slept really well. TV in the room with free view on so standard really and maid service was relatively early in the morning about 8.10ish. Didn't affect me as I was just leaving for work but may affect some people Would happily stay again and staff are genuine in smiling and being happy which makes a change. 5* for sure.

Rooms are in good shape but could have been a bit bigger. I am impressed with the mini bar and facilities of the room. The breakfast and dinner is also really good. Friendly staff and good experience with them.

Fine hotel with some nice simple extras in the room. Staff are nice but weren't very proactive/helpful when we visited as no one seemed to know where our room was!

Basic, clean, comfortable rooms. Rooms could be better sound insulated, and there is no plug near my bed. Restaurant is great, and the food is lovely.

The main attraction of this hotel is the restaurant (which I don't think is owned by the hotel) — the food is usually good, although it was very overcooked on one occasion. Note that they do room service, but they don't advertise this. My first room was terrible — the walls were paper thin, so I could hear everything the couple next door were saying. I asked to change rooms to one in the annex. The central heating seems to get turned off at around 10pm — after which, the room it gets cold. The Wi-Fi was slow at times — would be better if they offered wired connections. The iron is poor (not steam), I spent ages ironing a shirt and it was still very creased, so I couldn't wear it. The car park exit is extremely narrow, plus it s full on one of the nights, so I had to park in the Tesco car park, which is a few minutes walk away. I had planned to stay at this hotel for months, but because of the poor quality rooms and full car park, I have cancelled all future bookings.

I recently had the pleasure of attending this venue for a meeting, the staff were pleasant and friendly, the venue is clean and well presented. The food was lovely, we had a buffet style spread and the sandwiches were very good quality and there was lots of hot tea and coffee provided. The only gripe I have is the car-park, there is no designated disabled parking and the exit is a tricky one if you have a wide car, anything larger than an Astra and you may struggle to leave, unless you go out the way you came in.
