St Christopher's Inn Bath Hostel

Many ways to improve. Better care of shared facilities in the common room. No water in dispenser, had to walk 2 flights of stairs to fill kettle from bathroom, no coffee cups left in the morning, only plastic water cups. Also very little coffee left in jar. Fridge smelled terrible. Dont bother with this place.

The staff were so helpful when I was stranded in Bath, they turned an awful night into a wonderful time. Bed was very comfortable, room was really clean and location is amazing. Very much recommend it!

Horrible place! Noisy… no community discipline and untidy. Please don't waste your time and money staying here. It will ruin your holiday.

Great atmosphere, super great deals on drinks and cheaper food. Bathroom was always clean, though often smelt of vomit in the morning. The water pressure was superb, some showers it was even too much for me.

The food was decent. The biggest problem is it's a bar that has a hostel, instead of hostel with a bar. You don't meet people because the staff working are bartending, instead of being hostel staff.

12 pounds for a night in the middle of bath with breakfast included is not much! Totally worth it! The rooms are clean, beds are nice and showers/toilets are very clean! Personnel is super friendly and helpful. All together a nice experience.

Needs renovating. But the showers are powerful. Love the evening movie get togethers. It was clean. But street noise at night… still better than another hostel down road.

Good hostel. The rooms are fine, but the showers a way to powerfull. The location is great and the staff is helpful, tough the reception is close from 1 to 6 am. There's a bar downstair wich you can have deals on food and drinks wich is nice, but on kareoke night good luck finding sine sleep with the noise that reach the rooms.

The beds were comfy and the bathroom is pretty clean. However, I really don’t like the fact that they lack of common area where you can work or just hang out. The kitchen is really small too. You barely have space to sit down and eat. Also, if you arrive early and want to store your luggage, you have to pay for a locker. If you are not a party-goer and want to have a true backpacker experience, this hostel is not for you.

Room had a slight odor to it but very friendly and prompt staff quickly resolved the issue. Great pub attached as well.

I liked this place until I tried to sleep. The music downstairs is way too loud, no amount of free earplugs would help as I am currently feeling it vibrate through the floor and my bed frame at 2 am on a Thursday night. I want my money back.

Facilities are extremely clean and spacious, feels much more like a hotel than a hostel. Benefits at the bar are great too.

Poorly distributed, the bathrooms are far away and it is unrestored, at least the heating does not let you pass cold. The owners, yes, very pleased. I don't recommend going on a Thursday as the pub below do karsoke and it's completely disgusting.

It's like staying at a Hotel! Rooms are clean, beds are soft, bathroom are clean and plenty so never super busy! Definitely a place in would book again specially if it's come with a group of friends!

Super cute and clean hostel, in the middle of town 5 minutes from the famous website The Roman Bath and just as close to Bath Spa, a fantastic weekend out of doors that also allowed me to visit Bristol, fantastic city 10 minutes away by train! In the hostel also located downstairs a pub where you have breakfast included, lunch and dinner excluded but with discount! I definitely want to visit the other hostels in this chain!

Rooms and Bathroom facilities are clean and comfortable. The staff is very Friendly and helpful.

I stayed 2 nights and enjoyed my time in Bath. The facilities were clean and they provide a simple breakfast in the morning. Saturday night was quite noisy as there is a bar across the street. Free earplugs are provided if you need them. There's also a chillout room with tv, microwave and fridges.

A great place for backpackers, stayed 2 nights there. Breakfast included, all facilities are nice and clean. One thing I don't like is the heater isn't hot enough, so it's kidda cold inside.

Ridiculously cold. I am in bed wearing thermal leggings, thermal base layer, my normal pjs, my coat and my hat. Thankfully I work outside for a living so have decent warm layers. UPDATE — after long delay they attempted to rectify the situation and small heater provided. Was eventually able to remove coat and hat.

My friends and I stayed there only one night but we were greeted very warmly! Moreover everything is very clean, the dormitories are very well arranged (our had a great view of the Church of St Michael) and each bed has a very large safe to place its suitcases. In addition, the hostel is separated from the restaurant/bar of the Inn which ensures a quiet atmosphere for all travellers at night. And a special mention at the "chill room", located at the top… A pleasant relaxation area!

Clean, welcoming, and a fun atmosphere. Only downsides were the number of people in one room (12) and the lack of kitchen facilities (only microwave and two small fridges). Great value for the price paid. Friendly and helpful staff. Would stay there again.

An okay place as a hostel. The beds and bathroom are clean. However, the staircase leading to the rooms is very narrow, making it difficult to travel with luggage. The hostel is built over a bar, and music pours out of it till late at night. The hostel is built and targeted towards a specific crowd in mind — the party-going, bar-hopping youth. If that's your thing, then you'll enjoy the place, otherwise not so much. Also, their breakfast spread is really limited, without even the option of any eggs — who doesn't serve eggs for breakfast?

Very comfortable beds, very clean bathrooms, nice atmosphere, great location, very kind people, great prices, Wi-Fi in the whole building. The only con is that there's no kitchen and restaurants in Bath are quite expensive.

Out of all the St Christopher's Inns I've visited, my best experience has been at this one in Bath. Had an easy check-in/check-out process, exceptionally clean room and (community) bathroom, and stable Wi-Fi. Great proximity to various sites within the city.

Lovely and familiar place. The room was quiet and correct. The breakfast in the pub was awesome. Very well located, close to the Roman baths and the Jane Austen museum.

Super affordable, great room, upgraded to private suite for super cheap and bath is friggin lovely. Must stay. Staff were amazingly friendly and one quite the babe I might add.

Both great and terrible in its own way… We stayed here for 3 nights and for the most part had a fantastic time. Staff where helpful friendly and generally nice too! Rooms where fine, some beds nicer than others but overall quite good. The breakfast was ok but they didn't refresh the food so you had to ask them to get it. As always we met some fantastic people whilst in the hostel… One or two however did not have such a good time. A girl who we met the night before (sweet young girl) who had been staying there for a couple of days came back to her dorm to find a man asleep in her bed. Turns out that the hostel had double booked her bed expecting one of them to not turn up. HALF 1 IN THE MORNING a innocent young girl is told that she would be given a refund for the day at that she was out of a bed for the night! Luckily me and my partner had two beds only using one so we gave her one of ours. This is absolutely ridicules and completely unacceptable. Another person during our stay was thrown out the hostel for vomiting. So to sum up… We had a good time, others not so much. Hoped this helped someone!

Affordable price for those who want to travel and not spend too much. Great for the place in which it is located, right in the Centre of Bath! For someone like me who is a bit finicky, negative regarding cutlery and plates used to have breakfast, there didn't seem to be washed properly.

I would give this a zero if possible!
Attention potential travellers! Recent horrible stay!
My partner and I recently stayed here and there was an incident in our dorm where all the lockers were broken into and the locks were actually taken. Our luggage was rifled through and management was appalling in their response to the point where we were told on 3 occasions the "manager" would be coming to the room to investigate and that said "manager" never did. The next morning… when we checked out the attendant advised there wasn't even an incident report in the system for the break in! No one asked us for details of the break in or took note of the time which makes us think they didn't even check cameras! Be weary if you're looking at staying here, in our opinion they've put a stain on the "St Christopher's Inn" brand, we've stayed in other St Christopher's Inn's in other countries before and they've been great, but sadly this one was horrible! You'd be better off with another hostel! The toilets are filthy, mostly faulty and are uni-sex so you don't get a lot of privacy.

Service was good, receptionist/bartender was super friendly. I really enjoy how central St. Christopher's is — — I have had no problem getting to where I need to be in Bath. The place is clean enough as hostels go, and I haven't run into any overcrowding issues in terms of the bathrooms and such.

Very small security lockers in the dorm rooms. The one in london was much nicer.

The location is perfect near the heart of Bath and the service was fantastic, the staff were extremely helpful. The only downside was the bar flies near the breakfast stuff, but apart from that I couldn't fault it. I will definitely be staying again!

Quaint quirky little pub that we dived in due to a heavy rain shower and was pleasantly surprised. Good decor, reasonably priced drinks and the food was good.

It's a nice central location and the people are friendly. You have everything you would need from a hostel and Bath is a lovely location. However, the rooms are just above the pub, which recently renewed it's license and now stays open until 1am or later every night. The music is played very loud and you'll be lucky to get to sleep during this time. We also found that often the staff carry on playing music while drinking and eating past the time the bar closes which really isn't acceptable. While we stayed there we didn't see one adult member of staff, just a group of teenagers. They were friendly and did turn down the music when we asked, but realistically there's not a huge amount of thought for their guests. We also found the continental breakfast pretty much non-existent, and when we asked for the optional cooked breakfast we were told they had run out of ingredients. I gave two stars for the friendliness and the features of the hostel.

Bad experiance. Noisy&dirty. Not enough socket. Just cheap but terrible.

Best hostel I've ever stayed at. Staff awesome, really central and they helped me book a trip to stonehenge. Clean rooms tidy lounge and lots of cool people travelling the world. Met some great friends here.

Hm at the begining a litlle bit of shy atmosfhere but the pub is good. Good place to stay only for one night.

One major downside for our stay was that they had managed to mess up our booking. Having booked it purely because it was the cheapest we could find once we turned up the cost was nearly doubled! Luckily for us the was one person joining us the next day who managed to find the original booking we had printed off and with this the staff were very useful, helpful and friendly and sorted everything out reimbursing the difference. However, if we hadn't been able to produce this we would have been out of pocket. Nice enough, friendly, nice atmosphere, clean, good location. Would consider going back but will definately make sure I have proof of reservation.

Clean sheets, clean beds, no worries. I don't know if they have remodeled since many of the other reviews were written, or if those reviews were written by people with some agenda, but I did not find much of anything wrong with the St Christopher Inn in Bath. It does not seem to have a kitchen, so that is a problem if you wanted to cook for yourself. There is a microwave however. There is also free Wi-Fi.
