Played Golf today with my regular golf partner Yusuf and we have played at different courses over coventry and Northampton over the past 7 weeks and I am afraid this course today was not any where near as good as the others we have ventured on. Very disappointed that the course was poor and needed a lot more attention. Not to sure that we will back there too soon.

The rooms were ok but more suited to business people.
No drawers just shelves in the wardrobe.

Staff was pleasent and very hard working had great night.

We had our Christmas party here and were made to feel very welcome. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the food was amazing.

Currently staying here. Lovely place but very disappointed that on weekends the pool closes at 7pm with last entry at 6pm! Myself and partner are meeting friends for dinner in Staverton at 5:30pm and wished to use the pool afterwards but unfortunately we cant. We wont stay here again but instead stay at De Vere Horwood Estate instead for the pool use in the evenings. Expensive stay for not much use of the facilities.

Excellent price for 2 night stay but room was dated and lacking the little touches. Dinner was delicious and staff in the restaurant were very attentive however the drinks were very expensive at £11.40 for a large white wine. Afternoon tea was disappointing and service was slow. I was expecting it to look like on the left but this was ours on the right. 10 cakes between 2 but only 2 small sandwiches each. All in all enjoyable but needs some improvement.

The staff service is excellent, well trained, attentive and very customer focused.

Had an excellent stay. My room was lovely — spacious and VERY clean. The food (bar, restaurant and breakfast) was delicious and fresh. All staff friendly and professional. Drinks prices in the bar a little steep but apart from that I can’t fault a thing. Definitely five star. Loved it.

Breakfast was first class staff very welcoming and comfy beds and spacious rooms.

Staff were pleasant and hotel was of good quality.
They need to improve the family rooms. Putting 2 single beds into a standard-sized double room doesn't work — there just is not enough room. I would be inclined to relax the rules about kids in the swimming pool as well — or at least list the times that they are allowed on your website. We had a couple of disappointed kids who, on arrival at 5.30pm, were told that the pool was out of bounds.
I'd stay again on business but not with a family.

Most people staying here seem to be on a residential course or playing golf. Buffet restaurant very reasonably priced at £20 per person but it was very busy, pub style menu in the bar but not such good value about £14 one course. The hotel isn't near anything so you'll eat here or will have to drive somewhere. Nice being located next to the golf course there's a paved footpath around the hotel so great for an after dinner walk & they were still playing. Our room was ok but the windows have restricted openings by a bar & you really need some air as rooms do not have air conditioning. No mobile phone signal here.

If you’re a person of colour I suggest don’t bother visit. The only place the whole country that still treat other races differently. Some staff were great but some weren't especially the management.

Excellent Service by bar staff when eating late. Food good. Nice large clean room. Will stay again.

Arrived to the hotel before check in time. We asked to leave our bags in the luggage room and check in later that night as we were attending a wedding. We asked if we needed to present anything to receive our luggage when we returned later. They said no… Later that night when we returned, it turns out we did need something to get our luggage back. After check in and paying £85 for our room, we were asked if we needed any help with our bags. (Fantastic service but we declined. ) We entered our room to find someone had already checked into the room. The room looked very nice and modern but it was definitely not where we were staying the night. We went to let reception know about the mix up and they happily got us another room and apologised for what happened. We went to our second room which was not modern and clearly had not been cleaned in a while. The room was old and tired unlike our first room. The room had cob webs, our duvet cover was ripped, the shower tiles had some scum on them. Not what you would expect for the price. The breakfast was nice and had a wide range of options to choose from. To sum up we will not be staying here again. Looks like a nice place to stay in main reception and dining room but our second room was old and dirty.

The customer service is as poor as the decor. I was accused by the receptionist that the room had not been paid for. I was bellowed at across the lobby, while I was trying to retrieve the confirmation email. The rooms are in desperate need of a refurbishment. There are holes in carpets, and curtains. The bath rooms are dated, old and dirty. Positives, the pub around the corner provides delicious food.

Fantastic 2 days at the estate. Good food and great entertainment! Myself and my team enjoyed ourselves and the facility was perfect for our conference.

Nice room, but restaurant manager was awful. Moved us without excuse in the middle of our meal. Rude staff. Lots of noise came from a wedding. Woke me up at night. The staff is in need of training. Hope the management team could improve before the hotel declines.

Possibly only worthy of 1 but giving it the benefit of the doubt.
Poorly run and staff don’t appear to know what’s going on. Having stayed one night before a wedding with the bride to be and needing to change rooms for the following night (which they knew as rooms were all booked together) we weren’t able to check into our new room until 1pm at the earliest-not ideal when you are bridesmaid at a wedding at 1.30. Ended up booking in on our return from the wedding. Our “family” room was a room with 2 extra fold out beds added, which would have been fine if we could actually move in between the fixed double bed and the 2 fold out beds. Having booked through the wedding venue discounted rates it was interesting to find out that other guests who did the same were all charged different prices! Not enough staff in the restaurant to clear tables-didn’t even get asked if we’d like drinks for the evening meal and then had to stack plates on the table so that we could eat our next course. But the food was very good (why it’s got 2 stars and not 1) Don’t expect prompt service if you want room service! It takes quite some time to even get anyone to answer the phone let alone bring your order! The “spa” is a walk across the car park to a luke warm jacuzzi and a cold pool. Steam room was ok though. Won’t be returning unless I really have to.

First impression was very nice place. Very busy and obviously well used. Check in was slow but eventually got the room. Clean and tidy as expected. Bathroom is rather tatty and not in best condition. Now for the bad part. We was never asked to book a table at reception got ready and went to go for dinner. But no. Sorry no tables ALL NIGHT? Loads of young people like a sports club and can’t get a meal Useless. On Work travels I always use hotels. But I’m never returning to this hotel.

Comfortable bed and very good shower, but the room was far too hot and there was no way to turn down the temperature so I struggled to sleep for the night I stayed although this was somewhat redeemed by the excellent breakfast the following morning.

I stayed there for 4 days. Great location, excellent facilities, and good service. The staff are helpful and accommodating. The carpet look a bit tired and the layout is a bit confusing. The bed was comfortable, the room was good size and clean with pleasant view of the golf course. Excellent food and great coffee. I didn't have the time to use the pool but I looked good.

We had a booked meeting room which was spacious and private. Great place for a work get together not to mention the lunch was at a premium quality.

Room nice size and relatively modern. Good amenities but no water in rooms. Bar area nice and clean and staff very friendly. Food is definitely worth coming back for with Good choice and exceptional quality. No air con keeps this to a three star from a four for me. Can imagine rooms to be stifling in the summer.

Fantastic bar and service. The gym and pool area are fantastic with a sauna and steam room. Definitely recommended!

I stayed at this place for 2 nights in a deluxe room 103. My room was very clean and pleasant with everything I needed. Wi-Fi was easy to get onto but no network for EE. The staff were friendly and helpful one member of staff that stood out is Chloe who was my waitress in the restaurant she was absolutely delightful. Food could not fault lots of choices at breakfast lunch and for evening meal all meals offering hot or cold food choices. I really could not fault anything at this hotel as I stay in lots of places due to travelling with work. Small critism this is not ideal hotel for anyone with walking difficulties or disabled as no lift so stairs only and lots of corridors plus quite a walk from car park but the hotel is mainly for conferences. I did not use pool etc hence only given 4 out of 5 stars. I would stay there again when in area next and hope to use facilities.

Lovely lobby area, nice food and restaurant. Reasonably priced. Evening buffet was unusual but very tasty. The superior rooms are lovely are look new and nicely done. The standard room I stayed in was adequate, old and somewhat broken in places. But it did the job, I had a lovely night's sleep. The lesiure/pool area wasn't what I was expecting, cold jakuzi and camp site changing rooms. But we spent 20 mins there having some relax time.

Room is dated, filthy and no air conditioning so even in the middle of winter it's roasting. Ground floor room being overlooked by a bank of other rooms opposite with no netting for privacy. First impressions not good at all and supposed to be here for the week!

Staff were helpful and friendly, Tom was tidy and clean. Only let down was the food. The lunch and breakfast supplied were below average and there were very limited vegetarian options.

We stayed for a night at the hotel, the stay and the breakfast was fine (also considering how much we payed) the only issue was some kind of row in the night outside our room and too many teenager because of an event in the hotel in the same day.

Booked night away through Groupon so very good value for dinner, bed and breakfast. I wouldnt know what the usual cost was though. Dinner was a decent buffet. Ditto breakfast. Spa and leisure facilities are the main feature of the hotel though.

Both I and my husband stayed at De Vere Straverton Estate hotel on 22/01/18 for one night. The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in room 121. The room was small, but clean and suited our needs. We enjoyed the spa facilities, especially the gym and sauna. Restaurant was lovely and food, excellent. Breakfast was also very nice, but we slightly disappointed that there wasn't more vegetarian choices, e. G. Sausages. On the whole, we had a lovely stay and would come back again. We certainly would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Thank you Mr and Mrs Charles.

Had a pleasant stay here after attending a wedding. Ideal for a weekend break out in the countryside.

It was very nice. My room was good. Thr bar was good with decent prices. Overall great experience.

We visited for dinner for our friends wedding. The food itself was of good quality, three courses for £20. The meal was served buffet style by approaching a counter and selecting your choices for main and self serve for starter and dessert. I had tomato soup to start which seemed to be homemade, beef with roast vegetables and Yorkshire pudding which was well cooked; beef for rare and vegetables had great flavour. Dessert was a cheese board of good quality cheese, crackers and a delicious chutney. So why three stars? Well, we were somewhat puzzled that they weren't willing to put some chairs and tables together so that the wedding party could sit together in an otherwise virtually empty restaurant. Also, service wasnt particularly done with a smile, where we felt more of a hindrance than a welcome guest. Thankfully we weren't staying at the hotel but felt sorry for our friends that were considering the money they were spending. Perhaps we attended on a bad day. Overall great food but they need to review their customer service.

Probably the friendliest hotel / resort I have stayed at in a long time. Nothing was too much trouble for the team, even down to sorting out some goggles for me when i'd left mine at home! Well worth a visit.

Hotel was nice, very clean and good staff. We checked in after midnight (very handy! ) after being at a nearby wedding. However, the heating was on full so the room was sweltering! Windows open and heat off didn't cool the room til the time we left. Would have asked for a different room, had there not been loads of guests checking in after. Couldn't fault staff, room was lovely otherwise and hotel clean. Breakfast was disappointing, very greasy, but plenty of it available.

Room comfortable. Staff pleasant enough. Conference facilities well equiped. Restuarant disappointing. Whilst attending a conference where food allergies had been pre-informed during booking I was rather disappointed when asking service staff whether a main course had my allergen, potato, in they could not answer… on checking with chef the response was no don't think so! I avoided. A colleague had the dish and informed me it had sweet potato! Day 2 main course requested, no potato plate arrived with chicken and cheesy mashed potato… anaphylaxis on a plate. Plate substituted for veggie option! Why i'm not a veggie. Took 4 attempts to provide me with dinner! Awful. Will not be going back again, I value my health too much.

Rooms for training were good. Ample parking. Nice setting. Food was ok but could have been better.

Fantastic. Really enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. The countryman down the road serves lovely food too.

I would of given 5 stars if I had been treated a little better at check-in and checkout… the girl Beckie was a little rude also she didn't direct us to our room or gave us any information about breakfast and facilities… also checkout is by 10am which I feel is too early as normal standard checkout time is 11/12 from most hotel … the gym was quite well equipped and the two young guys running the leisure centre was very polite and helpful and made my experience excellent!. Breakfast was excellent we was welcomed at the restaurant by a very friendly and polite gentleman who showed us to our table. The food was great plenty of variety the quality again is excellent. The resturant staff too are very helpful and polite… 5 stars for breakfast! the room was nice but the bed was small the bathroom felt a little bit dated.

Very pleasant stay at the De Vere Hotel, enjoyed a lovely evening meal which was buffet style roast pork crackling and all the trimmings, the wine I found to be rather over priced but very nice none the less. Breakfast was also buffet style and very tasty. Would definitely stay again. The room was larger than expected a very comfortable, we had a very enjoyable stay.

Facilities were great, rooms nice and tidy, comfy bed. Only gave 4 stars in stead of 5 as when I went to the sauna and steam room wasn't working and you have to walk outside of the hotel to get there. And the breakfast was self service and they quickly ran out of items and by the time eggs and has browns were out I had finsihed, other than that it's a great place.

The hotel is nicely appointed and the front desk is staffed 24 hours for check in. Rooms are pricey but well appointed with good quality furnishings and a lovely firm bed. The pillows however were pretty poor, leading to me waking with a sore neck. We also had a cleaners closet opposite our room which was in constant use from around 6am, with the door being slammed regularly. Breakfast is served up to 10:30am which is a good amount of time that you don't feel rushed, and the breakfast buffet was well stocked with various types of egg, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, hash browns and even locally sourced black pudding. Cereal and toast is also available. The food really made up for an otherwise unremarkable stay.

A group of friends and myself had a Sunday driver at Staverton Park. Fabulous course, terrible bunkers!
The course itself is fabulous with some superb holes to test the best golfers and lightning fast greens.
The bunkers however were mostly a mess with very little sand and no raking. The hotel left a lot to be desired.
Tired looking rooms, not very clean and not the most comfortable beds in the world and roasting hot.
The shower was great but small screens left the floor flooded. The food was a disgrace in all honesty.
Evening meal starter was a choice of tasteless soup or cold meats and pate with pastas and salad.
Main was fish, pork steaks or barely cooked beef (rare) with vegetables.
Dessert was cheesecake, chocolate cake or tiramisu and cheese and biscuits. Breakfast was your standard help yourself english but overcooked and barely warm. The toast had more heat in it! Would I recommend the place? Yes, definitely for the golf. 5 stars.
No for the accommodation and food. 1 star. Hence my 3 star rating.

It's location is a plus, as it's close to town. The rooms are a bit disappointing; feels outdated compared to the lobby and bar area. Same goes for the bathroom and toilet. However, the restaurant more than makes up for this with their great food options. Breakfast is Great and so is the dinner (sometimes buffet). I hardly ever felt the need to eat outside each night of my stay. The gym is okay, and it has an indoor swimming pool. There's a nice golf course with plenty of good views.

Nice location. Parking could do with some improvement. We were in a conference and there wasn't enough parking space for everyone. Additionally, barely anyone could get any mobile signal no matter what network they were on. Other than that, a nice quiet place with ample room and good surroundings. Watch out for millions of cyclists in the area at certain times of day though. Not sure if I hit an event or if it is a usual occurrence but at around 19:00 theRE were a lot of them around, strangely enough travelling alone for the most part but staying in the middle of the road (national speed limit). Very pleasant…

Fell very quality in recent years and at the same time risen in price. The rooms smell of dust and moisture, the increasingly impersonal service.

Nice room and decent shower etc. Basin thing that could be improved is staff flexibility. We were a group of 10, most of which just fancied a bar meal but 2 would have preferred a main from the restaurant menu. How come this wasn't possible? We nearly left and got a meal elsewhere.

Great location, food ok, facilities fine, but couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work. Would stay again.

Peaceful nights sleep for my young family. Friendly, welcoming staff. Good restaurant and bar. Clean room. I would stay there again and would highly recommend.

Had a nice stay, staff were very helpful and got us checked in early which was nice. Some of the finishing touches needed improving for the price, for example, the hairdryer was cheap and almost useless. The spa was fine, but not as grand as expected and was in need of a but of work.

Never again! Hotel and leisure centre was clean and nice and the location was exactly what me and my boyfriend was looking for a 2 days escape from the busy London. Unfortunately the food was terrible. First night was a buffet dinner, which from 6-7 starters all was looking bad, tasted of frozen and old food. Main courses was looking bit better, but also old. Also the food we ordered in the room we just put it on the bin as looked disgusting. So on my valentine night got food poisoning, couldn't sleep till 7am, vomiting and drinking tea all night, which from this I had to sleep all day and did not had time even to enjoy swimming pool, sauna or jacuzzi or spending time with my boyfriend, as we had to go around and found an restaurant to eat for afternoon and dinner. I believe everybody agrees with me that when you're paying for a hotel you expect to also be able to eat in their restaurant. Also been waiting for our drinks for 45 mins, this after reminding to 3 different waitress. Will never ever again go there. They need to change all the chefs and menu as is a shame for a nice hotel with those facilities so have one of the worst food I ever had in my life. Another problem was that on a double room where 2 people stay, was only one bath and one hand towel which I don't find it right. Each should have a towel for himself. Ps.

Staff were brilliant, even at 4am when we were still propping the bar up. Fiod was lovely (especially breakfast) and the conference facilities good. Room fine although a bit chilly.

Visited with work as had a meeting the next morning at the venue. The rooms were large but smelt funny and did not seem properly cleaned. The hotel seemed very run down and in need of a face lift. We eat in the restaurant, which was extremely over priced for what it was, 2 courses was £20 alone, and it was not filling enough. Also the main course was served from a buffet style counter, which meant the meat was quite hard and rubbery. The breakfast was better in the morning. The meet facilities were okay, although a bit of maze to find the room as there were so many of them.

Appalling service and a lounge bar that is more like a youth club than a quality location. De Vere have let themselves down here.
