Absolutely amazing food friendly staff will definitely be visiting again.

Personally no. The food was all covered in pepper potatoes were soggy and too hot on outside luke warm inside like they been microwaved. The steaks are chewy very fatty and the sauce you put under them is disgusting really does not go with steak at all. Tasted like soy sauce or something revolting Part drinks orders turned up even though ordered together then had to remind that there was other drinks too.

Always a great place to stay when working in Northamptonshire. This is a regular stop for me and would recommend it to anyone for a great meal or a good place to stay. The staff are excellent, it’s clean and has a great atmosphere. No doubt I’ll be back in the new year.

Had a really lovely meal tonight with my mum and dad for Father’s Day.
Most of us had the roast beef which was delicious and my mum had the belly pork which she said was soooo nice.
The deserts were just as good. A big shout out for the serving team too, our waiter was lovely, really friendly and welcoming.

Just had a takeaway Chinese style chicken and chips one word banging wife had double cheeseburger her words it was lovely, well done chef and staff.

I called in here today as I got lost and needed directions. I was forced to consume alcohol and eat food. The menu is so good it took me a long time to decide what to have. During my decision making I was forced to consume more alcohol until I decide. As I had 3 courses I had to consume more alcohol due to being spoilt for choice and deciding what to have. I am a regular church goer so was disgusted that I was forced totally against my will to consume so much alcohol whilst merely wanting a meal. Hick. DO NOT come here if you do not want to be forced to drink lots of alcohol and enjoy great food.

Went for lunch here yesterday, could not have been more warmly welcomed, 3 adults, 2 children. Food was very good, service exemplary, and price reflected the whole experience. Will definitely be taking my family there again, a most enjoyable experience, thank you.

First night. Never been here before. The staff are excellent, the beer selection is good and the Seafood linguine is very flavoursome. Let's see what the next 3 nights offer.

Some of the best pub food we've eaten in a while. Good friendly service and only a short walk from the marina and canal.

Just had four tired looking meals here. Filling but not enjoyable. A chef from the 70s?

The food was delicious and even though they were busy the service was excellent and the staff are very friendly. Thankyou for an enjoyable experience.

Group of us went for a friend's 50th birthday. Very helpful in letting us decorate the table beforehand and food was excellent, no complaints at all there. Unfortunately, the evening was let down by very poor service. Bar service was offered but never materialised. Food orders took quite while to be taken, no one actually came near the table all night, I had to go to the bar and mention this as we needed more water carafes. At this point an older member of staff did come over and apologise and ask how our meals were. Had to request the table be cleared after we'd sat with empty plates for longer than we should have. Excellent food, let down by poor service. Staff are very young on the whole and don't seem to have much idea. I felt our party were pretty much ignored all night. A shame as we may have made a return visit.

Food good, obviously chef is good but service was not good. Waitress had an attitude and breakfast (v tasty again) but no milk, hot water, teaspoons etc and staff unavailable to get them.

I like The Wheatsheaf. Tidy inside and great (real) beer selection (would have liked a stout/Porter but, hey, it's Summer time. ) A good counter-point to the traditional Red Lion.

Interesting menu, notably starters, but dinner generally. Comfortable modern rooms. Breakfast disappoints on buffet presentation (think DIY, packets) and size of cooked mains but otherwise a good one night stay.

Here for a week just bought a pint of carting left it on the table more life in still water local said looks all right to me Went to a place round the corner ex serviceman’s lovely pint and 80p cheaper.

Great lively atmosphere, lots going on and really cosy by the fire. We will be returning to try the food.

Found this pub by accident while up from Kent, friendly staff and customers, excellent choice of ales and, from what I could see, good food too. If I'm ever up that way again I would go in again.

Had a lamb starter which was very generous. Followed by chicken fajitas which came with plenty of trimmings and garnish. No salsa with the main which was a little surprising but the meal was good all the same. Food arrived in reasonable time even though the place was quite busy on the day and would definately eat there again.

Food was perfect. Service was prompt and friendly. Have since been for a second and third visit and the food was perfect every time, good selection of drinks and staff who know how to make a good reccomendation.

Behind a ' so British ' façade you will find a quality establishment. Besides the possibility of sleeping it consists of a pub side and a restaurant part.

It's a local pub, rough and ready. Really nice restaurant at rear, good service and quality food. Prices are very reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Excellent. We find it so hard to find a great place to eat locally because I am gluten free diet. I actually had a choice of food and it really was nice. Staff are friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning. Wish we had tried it sooner.

Good comfy lounge and reasonable selection of beers. Not too busy on a Saturday night but friendly bar staff and a nice atmosphere.

There are so obliging and the food is tasty. Added to this they have a great supply of beers and ciders.

Lovely inside but my fish and chips were over cooked and took a long time to arrive. Other friends who are regulars recommend it, so maybe we were unlucky that night, it was a busy Tues night. Don't know how you'd wait on a Sat?

Service was fine, but a disapointing meal. Not anything specific to identify but I would not return. Seems popular with families so possibly good for those with young children.

Great little pub just off the M1 to avoid the ghastly services and third visit so that tells you something! A pint of decent real ale with a couple to choose from with two generous starters to share and some crunchy cheesy chips Bit of staff training going on but we didn't have to wait long for our food. We'll be back!

Visiting from Canada and driving north from London on the M1 we decided to break for lunch by going to a nearby village rather than one of the commercial service areas. Pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the friendly staff at this country pub. Selected a Ploughman's Lunch to be shared between the two of us. Ideal. Nutritious, Branston Pickle with crusty fresh bread, Stilton and Cheddar cheese, ham and some apple. Add a half of shandy for my wife and a half local bitter for me. Excellent choice. So on our way back south two weeks later, we visited again. Beautiful set and setting.

The most family friendly pub in the village, a varied menu and very helpful staff nothing is too much trouble. A genuine village pub that is a pleasure to visit.
