Quietness and wonderful food and staff.

Just had afternoon tea with my husband. Food was absolutely delicious, staff extremely welcoming. Cant fault anything. Will most definitely be back. Very happy customer.

We visited today for afternoon tea. The staff are so lovely and the afternoon tea was amazing, definetely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to go for afternoon tea!

I would just like to say a massive thank you to the thoughtful staff at Timbers yesterday who presented a hamper to my Dad on his birthday, he was very overwhelmed by this. My Mum and Dad have been visiting for years, but my Mum sadly passed away recently.
We all enjoyed a delicious meal and cannot thank you enough for your kindness.

Very good food, lovely spot and staff very helpful. Just a couple of things for me let it down was the matress on the double bed in room 13 was very uncomfortable and gave me back ache every morning. Probably tired and needs changing, and the shower kept going hot and cold all the time. Other than that very happy.

Very good service staff excellent and food very good.

Enjoyed visit with family this lunchtime, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food amazing, particularly the seabass & venison from the specials board. Thank you.

Lovely and peaceful location. Room was perfect. Food was amazing and the staff were very friendly welcoming. If we are over that way again would book straight away.

Amazing! from the moment we walked in the door and welcomed by Ashley we knew we picked a great place to stay nothing was any trouble food was amazing and price was spot on if anything maybe bit cheap for the quality! can't recommend this place enough we will be back! all staff friendly rooms clean tidy and spot on see you all soon! The staff couldn’t do more for our little party of 20 to celebrate a 50th birthday. I can’t praise them enough. The food all arrived together and was excellent. Thank you so much for making the occasion fantastic.

Went for Sunday roast and got to say much preferred this to the Sunday carvery which is dried up under the heat… Today was exceptional fabulous service and very happy and friendly staff. Will definitely be going back for another tasty and delicious roast.

Landed here for a change of scenery… Great events venue, not so sure if stop by in the bar again. Lots of little things letting it down… Food ok, could be hotter, limited choice of beer… Service was ok… just needs to sharpen up it's game a little.

Found my stay to be pleasant, friendly atmosphere, rooms were clean and comfortable, meals served were good and breakfast was excellent.

The beds could be better as I have stayed a few times but the beds are really not comfortable the mattresses need changing. Very cheap springy types. One needs a duvet to sleep over those Matresses if you're desperate and no where to stay. Good breakfast though served.

Great location, brilliant staff, fantastic food. Note to management, you need more staff. The guys here were run ragged over the weekend which did impact on service if not on enjoyment. The staff are helpful friendly and despite being run off their feet always went out of their way to help and always had a smile. The place is very pleasant and in a lovely quiet location and the decor is great. The only criticism I have apart from the lack of staff, is the there is no sound insulation in the room, so we heard every little noise from the room above and the bed was not the most comfortable I have slept in. Otherwise a great stay and would recommend a stay here.

Great food, reasonably priced and a super venue with polite and friendly staff. Sunday roast carvery is one of the best in the region, highly recommended.

Food was perfect nice and hot also, very tastey! Or waitress was very polite and helpfull. We enjoyed our experience at timbers and have booked a table for carvery tomorrow.

If you stay in the cottage it's very noisy. The floorboards are loud and there isn't much noise protection. The rooms are spacious though. The cabins are less spacious but better for noise. The Wi-Fi is decent in the cottage and bar but poor in the cabin where I think it may be out of range. There is a bar and a restaurant.

Lovely meal and very tolerant of 2 rather wound up little boys! Can't wait for our next visit which will be for daughters wedding.

Wonderful staff, great food and a lovely peaceful setting, spoilt only by a screaming banshee of a woman who was unable to complain discreetly or civilly… because of this we were all pricy to the complaint which may well end up on here, and can categorically say that she was just trying to get money back and was trying to hold the poor staff to ransom in front of all the other diners. They managed the situation with aplomb and great decorum unlike the wild eyed hag that was making a fool of herself. So, yes, go for the carvery, it's very tasty there are other options, puddings galore and homely surroundings… what more could you ask for other than a little peace and quiet.

Went here for a Christmas meal. Was lovely. Did was great.

Great service in the bar and restaurant, the rooms are well worth the money nice vlean tidy and comfy. Highly recommended.

Great accommodation. Very clean, quiet, private and the staff were friendly. We stayed one night, the room was immaculate and well stocked. Exactly what you'd hope for, a fuss free stay in a cosy environment.

This is a lovely place, recently decorated, comfortable and clean. Nice restaurant and bar which isn't expensive either.

The food is wonderful :) I stayed in a single room behind was very small (the single bed takes almost half the space in the room) but clean. Had a walk-in shower in the ensuite. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Lovely stay at Timbers.
Been cycling over 100 miles, with a few map reading errors along the way.
Staff were very helpful to settle us in, accommodate our bicycles and ensured we had time for showers/freshen-up before supper. Dinner was delicious, lovely, kind, friendly and helpful staff. Good night sleep, my husband thought the bed was a bit too soft and we could hear the guy next door snoring, although I found that rather funny. Felt great the next morning, breakfast delicious and staff helped with directions to start our journey home, even going as far as printing out a small map of the local area. It was a birthday present for my husband. We both had a lovely time, we throughly enjoyed Timbers.

Roast was absolutely lovely! I had veggie option and my friend had the meat option. Plenty of fresh veggies and great roast potatoes. Great friendly service too! Thanks! We really enjoyed the experience and highly recommend.

Absolutely disgusted with my stay here, my wedding night I arrive to the reception note on the door stating my room number I went to the room and tried to get in the door to which I then had an abusive man come out threatening me and swearing and shouting. It turned out the staff wrote the wrong number on my paper, the shower was filthy and it didn't have a jacuzzi bath as stated. Then I didn't get my breakfast & I paid £170 for someone to ruin my wedding night, have abuse hurled at me and no breakfast! Absolutely disgusted.

What a fantastic place stayed June 23 rd and 24 th 2017, accommodation was brill had king suit was perfect a little disappointed advertised bath whirlpool now replaced with shower, advert needs updating but no big deal. Had two beautiful meals there and service from staff was so nice recommend 10/10 well done to the staff.

Stayed overnight while working. Great little place, great food and cheap enough for the qualiry. Would recommend.

Had carvery for Sunday lunch, good choice of meats, Turkey and gammon were nicely cooked, good selection of vegetables.

What an amazing place with some brilliant staff.
The food is to die for everything was cooked to perfection.
And the waiting staff where so friendly and polite and did everything they could to make us comfortable and welcome.
The rooms are cleane and tidy and verry comfortable with a lovely homely feel.
All in all an amazing place to stay I can't wait to visit again.

This is by far the best lodge I've stayed in as I travel a lot now for business purposes. Beds are very comfortable the lodge is very clean… as me and my colleague's work night shift the bar staff went the extra mile to accommodate us for dinner instead of breakfast which is very good. The food is delicious too… staff are very helpful and polite. The place is very quiet and perfect for relaxing also offers beautiful scenery free car parking is a bonus overall I rate it 10/10 and would recommend anyone to stay.

Lovely room and hotel. Got a nice country homely feel. Food in the restaurant was great, standard hotel restaurant affair. Staff were very nice and helpful.

Easy to find, good food, friendly service. Only thing I will say is that the Wi-Fi is inconsistent. Otherwise a lovely hotel.

Breakfast was nice. Room was tiny, so was the bathroom. Matress was rubbish too. Walls were paper thin. Not worth the money.

We went to timbers for a Sunday carvery, the restaurant was well presented with a very warm and cosy feel. Service was excellent and friendly without being over bearing. The food itself was excellent a good high quality selection of both meat and vegetables. There was also a very good selection of puddings which can be a weak point in a lot of establishments.

Food was fantastic, stayed for valentines. Lovely atmosphere. Accommodation was a little poor.

I went as part of a club booking (50 plus persons) and was quite disgusted at he service, food and experience. The staff were inexperienced or poorly trained. the meal was pre ordered with a choice of 3 at 3 courses. The marquee was cold. There were no wine glasses at the set tables of 8 — — collect your own wine and glasses at the bar! The soup was cold in a warm bowl, no spoons at table, with 2 huge hunks of bread one of which was stale. None of the main courses looked attractive — a thick slice of grey brisket looked amazingly grim. I had the chicken and a small bowl of vegetables, but no one else seem to have vegetables. I asked the waitress if this bowl was to serve all 8 of us — she didn't know and would ask the chef — we never got a reply. At another table they never had vegetables at all but at the end of the main course were asked if they would like more! Dessert for me was regular Eton mess served in a glass but to use a big spoon! It was all so awful we at our table were laughing that it couldn't get worse or could it. Were still at our table when the majority of guests departed — the men enjoying a whisky to warm up — fetched by them selves of course — when the staff started to switch off the lights. We has several local dignitaries to dinner that evening but I don't think they will accept another invitation in a hurry. I shan't go again that's for sure.

Very poor service items on table not clean no staff booked a table in advance and they wanted us to eat in the bar area to save from opening resurant up and at thier prices we expected a top service complained to manager who just said sorry no staff we got up and left never go there again.

This hotel has recently changed ownership and what a difference! The food is amazing, the place is spotless and looks brand new and the rooms are luxurious, spacious and comfortable. Add to that a beautiful setting in the Norfolk countryside and you have everything you need to have a great stay. Highly recommended.

Beyond belief! Just how bad the service was. We popped in for a lunchtime bar meal. Drinks served in dirty glasses. In the smallest glasses ever and the lasagne looked like a child's pancake with no filling. And we ordered chips as an extra, they were nice all 5 of them. We returned the dish and the waitress said the chef noted it was a poor offering — but decided to send it out anyway! At £10. A plate.! We are locals too. Should have gone to Downham Café. Now that's how to serve lasagne. Timbers is definitely suffering from rot! and it won't get treated with our money.

One of the best nights away from the children — great food and relaxing atmosphere — tucked away in the Norfolk countryside, Fantastic rooms — a delight to stay.
