Beautiful place beautiful food and wonderful attentive staff, why have I never been for afternoon tea before?! ❤️

I've just got home from a fantastic Christmas dinner with friends and family. Great food and such wonderful staff, thank you very much.

I had a wonderful three night stay at the B&B. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and cozy, breakfast was lovely and the staff extremely friendly and helpful in all areas of our stay. Definitely recommended.

I sent an email to this hotel on the 14th May requesting cost of bed and breakfast for approximately a 5 week stay. As I did not receive a reply I booked myself into another hotel.

Lodge was surprisingly outdated inside, reception staff fantastic & helpful however some serious electrical faults in room such as blocked plug sockets, lamps broken which gave us electric shock staff informed. Shows on website B&B but is £9 extra on arrival. Built up surrounding areas & other B&Bs with scattered shops here & there.

Our stay didn't start off the best, as I arrived having suffered travel sickness on our journey! Right from the off the staff were great. They could not do enough to make me feel better. That evening we had arranged to go out but again I was unwell. Our friends came to the hotel and the staff made us very comfortable in the snug. Making sure we had everything we needed before they left. The Hotel is very comfortable and inviting. The room was a family room which was large with a lovely ensuite. The Hotel was spotless, comfortable and the staff amazing. We will definitely recommend to others and will book here again. A big thank you to all the staff especially Leighton who was a great help!

Basically someone's front room. A slightly below average boozer. Liberal club run for/by LibDem party, so putting money in coffers of tory-lite party.

Nice comfy stay. The owner was nice and chatty. Don't have room 15.4 flights of stairs.

Suck in the past, this place is tired and does not meet today's standards. I have to be honest here. Door lock dodgy on my room (I was told no one 'ever' has this problem. But getting out in a fire may have been a problem), uncomfortable mattresses, creaky bed and floors. Very weak shower I got in laughed and got out. If there's rips in net curtains, just replace them?! It's the little things guests notice. Not sure they can justify the hiked price as there's better choice locally if available. I'd happily pay 25/ 30 a night here no complaints, however at double that price I've paid for the right to become a critic :D.

Fantastic rooms, breakfast and a very warm welcome from Nick and Julie and the other staff. Afternoon tea is a must, just a fantastic little tea room with wonderful afternoon tea with a wonderful prossecco to finish it off.
Great location with easy access to Liverpool too. Will come again!

Best kept secret on Wirral! This place is outstanding for private events or Afternoon tea! The staff made us relaxed and they are so friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was excellent quality and plenty of it. If your looking for a venue for a private function, this would be one I would choose! They tailor it to your requirements, making it extra special! Thank you Shrewbury Lodge for making my Mum's Birthday one to remember! Be back soon.

This place is fabulous for afternoon tea! I just had my hen party here for 30 guests on Saturday. It was perfect and the food was delicious. The staff could not do enough for us. Alice and Julie were great! I will defiantly be returning.

Great little place, friendly staff but I booked a single room (R7) and it was more like a broom cupboard with the curtains falling down and a shower that was unusable, I've had better showers when camping. If I had a different room my experience would of probably been different but I would of given it 2 star if it wasn't for the very welcoming and polite staff. Note: If you book here in mind to make regular trips into Liverpool central, beware there's a tunnel charge of £3.40 return that makes it more expensive by car or taxi.

Very clean, friendly, welcoming Hotel, had the full English breakfast very tasty and plenty of it. A little pricey for a one night stay on business but would stay there again if I'm ever in the area.

Lovely afternoon tea! Friendly, helpful and delicious food. Plus wonderfully accepting of both children and elderly guests.
