Just been here for Sunday carvery. Well worth it for the price. Plenty of meat and choice of 7 veg.

I went for an evening meal with a friend and was a bit disappointed in the meal. The Ship Albion is under new management, whilst the atmosphere was still excellent, there was a football match on the screen in the bar because it is open planned we had a very noisy meal which spoilt the evening. They have also changed their menu and I ordered the same meal as I had when I took my grand-daughter the week before but was very disappointed, how can you screw up a "ploughman's ", will give it a while and try it again.

I took my 18 year old grand-daughter here for lunch. The meal was excellent, the service was second to none. The food whilst a little expensive was wonderful and excellent value for money. I will certainly go again and would recommend this place to anyone. A must to try.

Nice large beer garden, friendly bar staff, has a disabled toilet and a well equipped baby changing area.

Absolutely rubbish food waited an hour and half for it walked out disgusted. Won't be going back.

Great pub to watch the football. Visitors to the area, we were made very welcome.

In the 35 years I have had coeliac disease, I have never been so looked after, thought of and catered for so well! I was made to feel so comfortable and confident, the attention to detail about cross contamination gave me this confidence. I can't thank the staff enough, it's wonderful to go for a meal and not be made to feel like I'm an inconvenience.

Great old pub, fab landlord n lovely BnB room! Well worth a visit,, and sport on the telly! No breakfast thou! Grrrrr!

I ordered a steak there, it was the toughest I ever had. They also kept on getting other orders wrong.

Good food ok went there for lunch clean staff helpful has parking will go back.

The Ship, unfortunately, has the look of one of those pubs on the outskirts of town that passers-by should avoid; however, this couldn't be further from the truth. Inside, you access quite a small area when entering through the street door, which has that 'old pub' feel… but the hidden gem here is the restaurant. Prices are a bit high if you're used to pub chains, but here they are most definitely worth it. The menu has a wide range and every one looks tempting. I highly recommend trying one of their sizzling dishes, which have the duel benefit of being one of the cheapest meals, and absolutely delicious.

I was there last night with a group of friends, table booked for 7.30. The starters didn't arrive until 9.10… my main course: tough turkey, roast potatoes rock solid on the outside, vegetables on the raw side of al dente. And the lemon tart desert had pastry so thick and hard that I couldn't get the spoon through it. We all decided not to bother with the coffee and mince pie that should have been included, as by that time it was well past 10pm and frankly we'd had enough. Nobody even bothered to come and explain the delay or apologise for it. Seriously unimpressed and definitely won't go back.

I was there as one of a group of 23 people. When we got there the tables were set up for only 20 people but this was sorted out with additional tables added. I ordered a starter of prawn cocktail which was excellent, as was my turkey dinner. There were two other large groups booked in at the same time and the staff got the meals out as quickly as possible and mine was certainly still hot when served and so were the vegetables, which came separately.

Fantastic! Food was amazing, desert was the best I have had beautiful watress amazing service. Partner asked if they could make him an irish coffee did without any questioning even though it wasnt on the menu will definitely be coming back!

Excellent meal and excellent service, the four of us felt very welcome after two disabled guests of mine were badly treated at the nearby Moorings.

Went for the carvery. Would definitely recommend. Great service with a smile, very accommodating and excellent and sizeable carvery. All fresh veg and home cooked potatoes, stuffing and yorkshires! Lovely atmosphere and quiet music. Would highly recommend.

The staff here are okay at what they do, some staff are better than others. The service at the bar was sluggish and was priority was towards larger parties. The tables are quite cosy, and it is well decorated inside. They ran out of steak on a Saturday night by 7pm. The food was reasonable at an above average price. The chips varied across plates some were 'soggy' and others were hard, the onion rings were just greasy and undercooked. The deserts board had spelling mistakes on it however the deserts were definitely the best part of the meal.

We only used the dining area and where pleasantly surprised to see table clothes in use on the dining tables.

Christmas dinner was fantastic, went without a hitch and food was superb. Thanks to all the hard working staff. phil.

Terrible service. Brought out the driest burger I've ever seen and walked straight off. Eventually nab the waitress as she's going back and ask for Mayo, then she goes off an takes two more table orders. Finally get it and the food is cold. Then ask for more drinks, she forgets, barmaid snaps "we are busy" like that's an excuse to forget an order. She seemed happy to run other customers drinks out but eventually poured ours, left them on the bar and carried on emptying the glass washer! Terrible attitude! Over priced dry food and when there was a table check they didn't even hang around to hear the answer before again just walking off.

Food ok! price also ok, But the presentation left a lot to be desired Would think twice about going back.

Went on Jan 2nd with the family for a New Year meal. Food was ok, for the price, nothing spectacular. What was spectacular was the rudeness of the women who served us. We asked for a table for five and was given the number and where it was. She then placed the menus in front of us on the bar. We took them, with our drinks to our table. About 15 minutes later she marched up to the table and said that she told us to order at the bar (she didn't). However, after scolding us like naughty schoolchildren, she agreed to take our order. The meals came out, and as I say, they were neither good nor particularly bad. Half way through the meal, we had to refresh our drinks and I caught the attention of a young man coming from the kitchen. He said that he wasn't supposed to take drink orders at the table. Apparently, customers are expected to leave their meals to go cold to queue at the bar if we wanted another drink. However, to be fair, he readily agreed to take our order and was altogether very pleasant. As to the original woman, I don't think she smiled throughout the whole meal. How do they let people like this be front of house and let them loose on the paying public? We will certainly not be returning. Oh by the way, they should spend £100 and replace the skanky placemats, which have definitely seen better days.

My grandmother and I went for a meal here recently. Although the price of the meals were very fair, the same could not be said about the staff. We were served by a very impatient waitress, who was really quite rude. The place itself has been done up nicely and the toilets were modern and friendly. The meals took over half an hour to arrive and when asked if we could have a glass of tap water we waited 5minutes even though the dining area was empty. The dessert menu was written on a scrap piece of paper which we had to get from the bar and decipher. All in all, disappointing. If only the staff were trained better.
