Had a fab takeaway meal tonight, arrived on time, piping hot. Would highly recommend a takeaway from the Whistle.

Bit dated inside pub, but staff very friendly, food was very nice. All for £40 a night, bargain.

4 of us had the fish platter… excellent. Good choice of good beers too. We will visit again soon.

Prices quite reasonable. Staff very friendly but seemed a bit disorganised. Starter, pea and ham soup, excellent. Main course, ribeye steak, ordered medium to well, came up Well to cremated! No steak knife offered made it quite difficult to eat. A bit disappointed.

Paid £10 extra for breakfast advertising as b&b. Then on arrival for breakfast in the morning nobody there & pub locked.

Fantastic food, great beer! The staff are very welcoming, good value for money and highly recommended.

Four of us visited last night on the spur of the moment. Food ok, ambience was poor, with two patrons talking very loudly on mobiles all through our meal. Mentioned it to staff when asked how everything was, but they were nonplussed — a shame.

Stayed here for one night, price was reasonable for a double room with toilet and shower, all was clean and tidy, plenty of tea and coffee supplied in the room, as the premises are very close to the railway station the only problem was the trains were running well into the night, if you are sufficiently drunk or in a coma this would not be a problem. The "full English breakfast" is a cracker, well worth the money, staff are friendly and helpful, would we stay here again, yes without a doubt. Top tip, if you are sleeping away from home, always take your own pillow.

Well. What can I say. Shocking. This is a place I've been to a few times and it's always been fantastic but today it was appalling. People were walking out. Food being sent back because it was cold. We waited for at least an hour for food. We were told the chefs were training and the manager was day off. Being a manger myself I wouldn't be leaving my training staff on their own! Especially on a Saturday! The poor girl and lad that were waiting on and doing bar service were brilliant. People were being rude and they just took it so well done to them. We will never be back and if your thinking about going. Don't. If I could give no star I would very very disappointed. The decor is old tired and in desperate need of a face lift. I hate giving bad reviews but I feel I need to.

Basic room but bed comfy. Food was excellent. Had the taglatelle. Mmm. To die for. Staff friendly and helpful. Right next to barnetby train station will be back.

Very friendly, helpful staff and reasonable food. The rooms are fine but the cold water taps make an absolute racket which is likely to wake you up unless you're a deep sleeper.

A Bar and Guesthouse that is just outside the railway station. I always have a drink at the bar whenever I visit Barnetby. Pleasant and friendly staff, the bar is always presentable and clean. Highly recommended and I will be staying again next year.

Lovely place to stay to ' get away from it '. The staff are fantastic and food lovely. Rooms are abit tight to move around but beds comfy and they are clean with quite modern bathrooms. Dont be put off by the train station opposite. Its hardly heard.

Went for lunch, I had chicken sandwich daughter had ribs. Tasted yummy and only just fit it in.

Live sport, good food and real ales!

Stains on the carpet and extremely uncomfortable beds, woke up at 3am and could not get back to sleep. Noisy in the morning too. When you're paying £75 for a room you expect a little bit more if I'm honest, oh and that wasn't including breakfast either :/

Shocked and stunned. Whatever you do DO NOT BOOK ONLINE via contact us. I did and after my second email a week later someone emailed me back. They wanted a card to book the room I said I would. When I called they had no record of me making any contact nor did they have a room with an en-suite which I asked for in my email and was this was confirmed. I rang up once and a young girl answered who had no idea what she was doing and asked me to call back at lunchtime. I asked that shje get them to call me. They never did call. I called them and was basically told by aanother young lady we have no record of you and only have rooms without and en-suite WTH! Never had a chance to stay but by the pre booking epsiode I am probably glad we never did. Wake up B and B this is poor very poor.
