Had Sunday lunch was very nice lovely atmosphere and excellent service.

Just returning home from a lovely 3 night stay at The Angel.
All the staff were super friendly, breakfast delicious and very comfortable rooms, hot showers and fantastic location to all local pubs, shops and parks.
Try the Waterfront and the Mexican on the high street.
Highly recommend.

We had a very nice stay for 2 nights.
lovely meals and breakfast very good, but one member of staff, which was on reception the day we arrived, her attitude was not very nice towards us, it was a block booking for a wedding party, and if it had not been block booking we would not have stayed there.
but all the other staff was really lovely.
rooms are lovely and clean and well equipped.
beds and pillows lovely and comfortable.

Lovely staff. Food great! Sadly I was in a room that had a very strong smell of cigarettes, was the only downside to my stay.

The staff are super helpful and managed to fit us in for a roast dinner this evening. We explained my boyfriend’s allergies and they were very accommodating to his needs. I was also delighted to see that they offered a variety of desserts for that were gluten free and vegan!

Staff shaving but dilapidated room at the limit of cleanliness. Room poorly insulated so very noisy and in addition a lot of lights, the curtains are not occulting. Restaurant correct.

Went there Friday night and it was a lovely place the staff made us feel welcome and the food in there was amazing highly recommended.

Nice place for a quick stay and really good breakfast. There are a choice selection of bars and restaurants near by if you fancy something different but what I seen from the hotel it looked like they done good food there too.

Really enjoyed my stay. The Canadian bar man is a real gent and good craic.

No heating, no hot water, a specials menu that had ran out before service started. Dreadful hotel!

For the cost of the room was disappointing. The decorating looked shabby and the room didn't feel Clean and fresh. The bed was uncomfortable. It was not a relaxed night.

I stayed with my fiancé for his birthday. I booked online and requested the nicest room available for our stay, and they didn't disappoint! Thank You to the Angel! We had a lovely evening!

We had a great Christmas party at the Angel. The food was very good and there was open bar till 11.00. The DJ was also great. We will definitely go again next Christmas!

Excellent in all respects. Complementary room upgrade on arrival. Friendly service team and really good breakfast with wide choice of hot and cold options.

No lime juice and nobody sent to get any. Turkey not that great the rest of the meal was not too bad probably won't go back in a hurry. Positive note lovely pint of Pedigree.

Excellent place to relax and chill. Fantastic food and relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Has kept old charm not become cold and corporate. Also a great place to enjoy watching the rugby with like minded people.

Just had 4 nights in a lovely big converted stable block. So comfortable I could have stayed longer! Great walk in large shower just lacking a grab rail. Beautiful luxury white towels! Friendly staff and great breakfasts. I’ve stayed in many 5 star hotels throughout the world and this definitely compared well. M H is a lovely town with great shops. Also lovely walks and places to visit! Will certainly be back to The Angel!

Lovely place, clean, ample parking, friendly staff.

Wouldn't stay again stayed here about ten times and loved it but this time very disappointed Woke up at 2 am by someone banging on bedroom door being 2am in morning and half asleep thought it was a fire only to find out it was a drunk Although it's not a fault on the hotel we complained to the manger who's response was very disappointing.

Great place to stay if you in the area — decent beers pleasant staff.

Nice place with great staff. Rooms comfortable and clean but maybe need a spruce up but nother the less we enjoyed our time here.

First time using the venue for a launch of a new networking group. Superb support for a first time making everything run smoothly. I use 7 other venues and straight away the Angel is up there as one of the best. A special thanks to Susan who was our host/waitress for the morning and she provided excellent customer service over and above the norm — noted by some of my attendees. Thanks to Darren, Becky and your team for supporting my event.

Bed and food were excellent, very friendly staff. I was able to check in after a late night function, which was very accommodating of them. The floor, however in both my room, and the corridors is very uneven and quite creaky.

This fine hotel look after our shift on our annual Xmas lunch every year, the food is always fantastic, as is the service & the staff are friendly!

Friendly staff with professional approach to customers. Cosy bar with sport channels and relaxed seating. Could do with a little TLC in places but otherwise satisfactory.

Stopped in for drinks. Quiet bar with good selection of beers and sky sports on large screen TV.

Nice cozy bar, good beers, fare prices, bar 5/5, hotel 1/5, very unhelpful checkin staff, and checkin not until 3pm, later.

Stopped in for some drinks. Very good real ale selection and well served, large TV showing all sports with volume.

Good bar, good food, log fire & always have sport on a good quality TV.

We have just had our wedding and reception at the Angel Hotel. All of our guests really enjoyed the food and the ambience of the whole event. We were made to feel very special by the staff who worked extremely hard to make everything go so well, (especially Eileen she was absolutely brilliant). We can only highly recommend this lovely old Hotel and thank the managers and staff for making our day so special and complete. We will always remember our wedding day at The Angel Hotel. A very nice coaching inn in this market town with bags of history. The Ostlers bar is a really comfortable place to enjoy a drink or sandwiches and the restaurant serves good quality home-cooked food — Sunday lunches are particularly good and very reasonably priced. The only downside is that service can be slow sometimes. Accommodation is spacious and comfortable but could do with re-furbishment.

A good hotel, long standing and we'll known in the area. Well regarded, good food, good service.
