My dad and family members visited this place for 1 night and payed cash as booking. Com said pay later at property so they did next week after leaving the man who was on the reception I assume is the owner has taken £180 from my dads account and is saying he didn’t pay in cash witch is a total lie why would he book a room through booking. Com and not pay cash for them to then take it anyway it doesn’t make sense this guy is robbing people and it needs to be stopped heel be making fortunes! Anyone else affected by this please make it known.

The attitude of the staff is beyond ridiculous, small room, overcharging, faulty shower to which when asked only for an extremely bad attitude response, absolutely no regard for ‘custom’. Room was freezing cold all night no heating. The most horrendous place by far!

Think you need to admit to close. It's embarrassing. I was in your hotel on our own… no staff all night till 11 am and no other guests. Joke.

The hotel is an absolute joke of a place, room smelt stale like real bad moth balls type of smell, carpets wasn't cleaned properly picked up endless bits of crap off the floor including a half used bar of soap which was under the radiator, valance sheet with excrement stains on them, yes I said right excrement, seals in the windows gone and windows don't close properly either so all you hear is whistling all night, no heating so room was freezing cold, carpets badly stained, …wallpaper hanging off, holes in walls, rendering gone, and the gutter as well as the roof is knackered so when it rains water leaks into your room, and don't even get me going about the state of the bathroom, shower don't work right, toliet is disgusting, ten pound deposit for TV remote for TV that only gives around 8 channels none of other channels on TV worked, ten pounds a day for parking on a unsafe carpark. Fire door in reception has a 2 inch gap at the bottom how can this be called a fire door who woud be safe in case of a actual fire let me tell you nobody would be safe a fire would go straight under that fire door. Was left in hotel on our own and had nobody to complain to. Due to how disgusting the place was, left after one night stay, would not even have been one night if there was staff to complain to.

5 star service from the owners. Breakfast was really nice. We had the family room which was very cosy. Overall great hotel. Thank you.

Hotel was basic but worth the money. Staff good.

It is what it is. Perfect Location for everything. Was lead to believe breakfast was included, it wasnt. Parking cost £10. Bar was closed at night. Hosts seemed very friendly though. Only booked for buffet breakfast and parking.

It's alright but and staff are friendly but dirty and been to better hotels, would not recommend this and go to a more decent hotel.

Breakfast good staff good needs a little updating but for £35 a night what else would you expect.

Super location for a value for money family break-Booked 2 family rooms and 1 double-Was initially put off by reviews, but fears were unfounded-Yes could do with up-dating, but that's true for the large majority of hotels/B+B's In Blackpool-Do not expect 5* luxury as you will be disappointed, however if you want an ideally located, clean, comfortable base to explore the sites and sounds of Blackpool-then you could do ALOT worse-The hosts were more than hospitable and the bar area was a great space for a relaxing drink after a busy, busy family day!

It's alright but dirty and been to better hotels, would not recommend this.

We’ve been coming here for the last 4 years with family and we love it. We book 9 rooms in total and the staff are fantastic so friendly never had a problem, we have a lot of children with us too and the owners really make an effort and go out of there way to make us all feel really welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. We’ve already booked for next year. Thanks for another amazing weekend.

Not recommended at all, worst hotel we 've stayed in, A total disgrace to Blackpool!

Our stay at this hotel was a joke from start to finish. The car park is ridiculous. It can fit 4 cars in at best yet they try and squeeze in about 9 and you are asked to give your keys in and pay £10 a day for the privilege! The lady on reception, im assuming is the manager, was dead rude upon our arrival. She tried to tell me I'd only booked a single room when I had booked a double and was prepared to argue with me over it. I asked to see the document she was holding and it wasn't even my name at the top even though I had given her my name. We were in the loft where the room numbers had just been written on the doors. There was a hole in the wall behind the door and mould on the windowsill where it has become damp. The windows didn't close properly so the room was quite loud at night. The bathroom floor hasn't been cleaned properly and there were dead flies in the light fittings. The shower drain hadn't been emptied before we arrived so when we had a shower the basin filled up quite quickly!
Overall the hotel is quite outdated and we weren't made to feel particularly welcome. The only saving grace was the waitress at breakfast who was very polite and friendly to everyone.

Staff friendly enough, such as young waitress in the morning was very polite and spoke to us, reception man/owner was welcoming to us, bed was ok sheets were clean, but didn't get cleaned for the second night or no maid/house keeper entered the room, mean we had to use the same towel, shower pole holder was broken and the roof was basically falling apart, there was a hole in the wall inside the shower cubicle. Decor was dreadful and needs updated. Walls were dirty with what looked like boggies. Curtains need to be updated. Also fire alarm went of at 1:40 in the morning and basically woke the whole hotel up it only went off for a few minutes, we were ready to go out when it stopped and we were not notified why in the morning or apologised to. You think you are getting a good deal with the price but really its very basic. Place needs a lick of paint and some updated decor.

Absolutely disgusted by the way we were treated, my daughter tripped and fell into the fire alarm, the owner was first on the scene screaming at me when I had just got out the elevator. Instead of listening to our story he screamed get fucking out, naturally I refused unless I got half my money back, within 5 minutes armed response police were on the scene and asked us to leave. 3 adults and 2 children under 15 had to sleep in a car as we had a few drinks. It was 8am this mor…ning before we could set off. I would urge everyone to avoid this shit coup of a place as the owners have no manners and couldn't run a menage. p. S showers don't work pool table was broke games machine was broke Windows wouldn't close.

Comfortable room, really helpful owners. Not a 5 star hotel, but doesn't pretend to be. It's a god base for getting around Blackpool, clean and reasonably priced.

A decent pub to visit if in Blackpool. Stopped in for a quick drink and the staff were very friendly and the venue was clean. Definitely worth a visit if nearby.

Very hospitable and friendly owners. Very nice bar, tasty food, wonderful views of sea and closed to attractions.

Realy disappointed with this place room was very small very old fashioned no hot water TV didn't work the only thing good was the brekefast it looks good on website but its not gutted will not go there again.

My partner and I have just come back from a weekend at the Gainsborough it was our Anniversary and we stayed in the executive suite with a beautiful four poster bed the room was lovely and very clean and the staff were friendly. Before I booked this room I read some of the reviews and decided to make my own mind up everyone is different so have their own opinion. We had a fab time and loved every minute and yes the Breakfast was spot on and plenty of it. If your going to stay at the Gainsborough I would recommend you stay in the beautiful executive suite with a four poster bed and a double window Sea View.

Booked this hotel and then read a few of the reviews so turned up not really knowing what to believe. We stayed 21st-25th July 2011 and what a fantastic time we had. Three of us shared a three bed room (1 double and 1 single). We arrived early after a phone call to ask if ok to leave cases somewhere safe until booking in time. The owner very kindly had our room ready when we arrived and allowed us to go to our room which was clean and well presented. The shower cubicle was a bit of a squeeze but that's not the owners fault (need to diet). The decor was a little dated but I know that the owner is working on this and to be honest in Blackpool you only really sleep there anyway. As we had our 15 year old son with us who didn't wish to come anywhere with us the owner allowed us to have 2 sets of keys so he could take himself to bed and not need to wait up for us. Most hotels would have charged a deposit for this service. There is a small lift which was a welcome sight. The bar was well stocked and open whenever needed and my son enjoyed the cabaret laid on. Now for the breakfast — WOW — what a selection, several different cereals, juice, grapefruit, fresh fruit. The cooked buffet consisted of the usual sausages, fried or scrambled eggs, beans, tomatoes, bacon, a potato product (hash browns and fritters whilst we were there), black pudding. Toast and Jam/Marmalade was also served. Other items included mushrooms and fried bread but not on the menu every day.

Stayed 6th — 8th Aug. Warm welcome. (Mischelle on front desk was excellent! ) Room clean with crisp, fresh bedding on the beds, room cleaned and bedding changed daily. Own key to go in whatever time of night. No hassel. Breakfast was buffet style, and was cooked to perfection. With plenty of friendly staff on hand serving tea, coffee. No problem with parking. Rooms could do wiv a lick of paint, but what Blackpool Hotel cant? As long as its spotless, thats what matters. Would definately stay again. Big Thank You 2 Mischelle and all the staff. Karen Hague.
