The carpets needed cleaning and the bed sheets had stains on them and when we went to have a shower we at to clean the shower screen and the room 36 had a very bad dusty small! It’s a a shame because with a bit of TLC and a revamp it would be a nice place x.

Absolutely loved this hotel it is clean and friendly the bedding was clean and rooms also… the bedroom furniture is basic but functional shower room modern and clean also the price was fantasic we will definitely be going again.

We found this hotel clean and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and the bed massive. I cannot think of anything bad to say and my family and I were all happy with our rooms.

Basic and cheapest hotel in the area. Most of the rooms are tired and datrd.

The shower didn't work. The hot water gurgled like the monster from Ghostbusters. I did however enjoy the massive bed and the view of the cathedral which was quite magical — the receptionist was very nice. Close to McDonalds If you get a bit tipsy and wander home at 1am with no chip shops open.

Not bad for the money. Headboard was hanging off the wall and there were no glasses in the room. Would I go there again. Probably.

Stayed for one night during 2017 Dickens Festival, large comfortable bed, pleasant room and friendly helpful staff, very good price too.

Friendly and hassle free reception. The decor was a little dated but the room was clean and was a good price.

Room was terrible, damp marks on wall, shower plug full of hair. Not recommended.

Old coaching Inn with lovely original features, in need of a refurb but decent, cheap, ensuite rooms.

The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating and although the hotel has seen better days it was very reasonably priced and most importantly clean.

À quirky cheap hotel, very old with plenty of charm higgeldy piggeldy staircases and pictures of its former glory. It's a little bit worn in places but nothing too bad. It has its own limited space parking right on rochester high street, the room was of a decent size with a huge bed and an ensuite, plus the usual bits of furniture/tv/tea/coffee etc What stands out a lot as an old hotel is the lack of plug sockets for charging electricals. It has potential to be an amazing hotel but for the amount of money and all the planning troubles I'm not sure it would ever be feasible.

Stayed here last month. Dirty walls, dirty floor, dirty towels! I kid you not, you would be better off sleeping in your car.

Basic but quite nice room. Fairly cheap. Was all I needed really for a couple of nights away for my birthday today.

This place is good value for money. Ideally situated on the high Street with all the bars and eateries.

Good location and spacious room, however intolerably hot on my floor and noisy during the night.

Very cheap, clean amd in the centre of the town, fantastic, great view of Castle and cathedral from my bedroom window.

Stayed here on 14th May loved the old building but maybe you need a cleaner. Bathroom was so dark and so mouldy and lino on floor not fitted properly kept tripping. Stayed in family room and one bed has a strange dirty mess on it. Was so cold had to have 2 quilts on me. Extension leads lying about not very good if you are elderly. Toilet seat hanging off had to hover or fall off. Staff not very pleasant come back from a wedding and was a young girl and guy sitting on the sofa and they never even acknowledged us as we came in too busy on phones. Would be nice to be greeted with a hello. Also should put on website that there is a nightclub underneath so loud especially when bar staff emptying glass at 3 in morning. Furniture miss mash chair had paint on. TV reception poor. This place could be made so warm and welcoming to go with the character of the building. It's a shame that staff have no pride one tip get proper cleaners in that will take pride.

Hotel is very old and steeped in history that makes q is not very well in regard to reform current as for example the bathroom, however, is quiet, very comfortable and cozy. There are some cleaning and good aroma.
With respect to the Administration leave want… Since we only attend from 14.00 to 20.00 and that limited much when planning your trip.
As price is OK. Does not have own Wi-Fi although q so they announce it, is a local Wi-Fi where you must register.
I didn't like q in 3 days not change towels or give you a small overview of the room. Do not serve breakfast but they leave you in the room tea coffee and milk but also replenishes it in at least 3 days.
A quiet and comfortable economic place to spend a few days in rochester.

Some relatives were travelling down from Yorkshire for a funeral. They got held up in traffic, so phoned the hotel only to be told they had to check in by 8pm or lose the room. Welcome to Rochester — NOT!

Old coaching inn in central Rochester. It was cheap-ish because it was being refurbished, so no breakfast. Very good size room, OK bed. But yes, it was in dire need of refurbishment: Shower tap clean on top and mouldy underneath Hot and cold tap wrong way round Decor late '70s, and can't exactly have been the height of fashion even then. Tiny TV and atrocious remote. Rochester itself is a lovely place with loads of small shops, pubs and eateries all along the highstreet. It's a popular place for a night out. And consequently, is maybe not the best place to have a room in an old hotel with single glazing listening to inebriated local belles having frank discussions with their boyfriends.
