Good rooms however noisy fire doors continually banging shut during our time there. Excellent breakfast. Bar ok staff pleasant. Likely to be good alternatives in the area.

The hotel was reasonable, but certainly not good. The bed was too soft, you could feel the springs through it. It must be replaced. There was no bedside table besides my bed. The breakfast was good. But because of the bad chamber it is certainly not worth to be a four star hotel. The restaurant was very bad. We sat down. Two servants were in the room, but did not come to us, they also said nothing although they must have seen us. Only when we asked to be served, they said, that we had to order at the bar. We did that. First we had to pay at the bar. Then we had to ask to clean our table, it was full with crumbs. The personal did clean, only our table, although we saw that the other tables were equally full with crumbs. Our drink was not served. Only after questions of us it was brought, without apologies for forgetting. The atmosphere is somewhere between a cafeteria and a snack bar. Not really a feeling for a dinner in a four star hotel. A bad experience. You better go eat elsewhere.

Stayed here on a summer Sunday evening, the hotel was very quiet only saw two other guests. Room was nice, bathroom looks like it had been redone recently. Cooked and continental breakfast on offer. Very pleasant stay, would recommend and stay again, thanks!

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, fantastic breakfast, rooms are nice and clean, bar is good and cheap, nice amenities (such as toiletries, tea & coffee in the room) only maintenance isn't always quite up to standard (I've at times encountered broken shower handles, kettles, TV remotes…) but the overall experience still makes it one of my favourite hotels to have stayed in!
Been here 8 times this year and just booked my 9th stay :)

I did not stay at Oakwood House, I joined a group of people to form The Seasons art class. Which was run by Sarah-Jane Edwards. Between January And April. I found the staff very accomodating and friendly. I had considered hireing the venue for my daughter's wedding. But she said she had already made her mind up! Elaine Nunn.

We arrived late as we were at a wedding, the staff were friendly and just said your room is that way and on the ground floor, we walked around looking for our room maybe for 10-15 minutes. Eventually someone else came along and took us to our room. Breakfast was nice, but the veggie sausage was over done. The second morning no veggie option. The room was nice. Bar staff were great.

This place has so much potential but is very badly managed as it is. I felt so bad for the poor guy on the bar last night, trying to juggle drinks/meals orders as well as clients calling down and the systems failing.
All this place is lacking is good management.

I stayed here on a journey with work and it’s absolutely beautiful. Plenty of parking, the whole hotel is gorgeous and the breakfast included with the room was good. The walk to the room is a lot longer than you may anticipate, so elderly and those less able to make a long trip with heavy cases may need to ask for help. The hotels bar is cheap and open until 11pm, there are plenty of semi-private public spaces to sit and socialise.

Grand establishment with both fantastic interior and exterior. The bar food and drinks are an impressive upgrade compared to similar hotels; in quality and cost.

Attended a 1 day training course at the venue. Our function room was a little cold when we first got there but the staff quickly sorted this for us. Facilities are clean and spacious. All the staff were very helpful and the lunchtime meal was wonderful. The only negative about the experience would be the nightmare of trying to get to the venue itself. Maidstone traffic sucks so allow plenty of time to get there.

So far so good :) Friendly staff, little coffee corner in your bedroom, bed a little hard but ok for one night. Can't fault the price, let's see about breakfast tomorrow! Not 5 stars, it doesn't pretend to be and location a little hard to find in the dark but overall pleasant. Would stay again (provided the breakfast is ok ;) ) Some dust in the room as I just started sneezing but which hotel is dust free? Yeah I think it's fine.

Lovely hotel in a very quiet location but near to Maidstone. Room very comfortable, breakfast good variety and nicely cooked. All staff very pleasant. Excellent value.

Would be a 5 star but our room was delayed for quite a long time for circumstances they did not tell us.

Stayed at the hotel for a wedding which went very smoothly, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was a little tired but the bed was very comfortable, the most important thing after an evening boogying! The bathroom was very clean although the hot water did run out halfway through a shower. All in all a good stay and a great venue for a big event.

Average hotel. If you book make sure there are no weddings taking place during your stay. Staff very good. Bathrooms excellent. Super king size beds are simply two singles pushed together so you have an uncomfortable rib running down the middle.

The walls are a little thin but that just adds flavour to an overnight stay. Staff are friendly, the setting is lovely and prices are great.

Clean, comfortable. Menu doesn't have much choice but food os excellent. Staff very polite and attentive.

I was part of a wedding that had been booked here. I must say it was absolutely run so smoothly and professionally. It was such a fab day and evening… With thanks to all the staff. All very friendly willing to help and well mannered that's wasn't anything they wouldn't do for us. Loved the reception room that we ate the wedding breakfast in all beautifully done and decorated the bride and groom left it to the hotel staff to do and they didn't let us down. Food was superb. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the cleaning staff were all so friendly I enjoyed my weekend there and will recommend it to my family and friends.

We went to the Oakwood House for a Dinner Dance & overnight stay. The dining area was well laid out and the food was good at a reasonable budget. Bar prices were High Street restaurant prices. Bar was sparsely staffed at times especially when 150 were arriving an only one server. The bedroom was comfortable but the furniture was tired and past it's best I did mention to the reception that the bed linen was clean but it was evident that the floors hadn't been swept. We enjoyed the buffet breakfasts, a choice of English or Continental. The waiting staff were generally very young and keen to please, however, they would have benefited from better supervision and training Overall a good evening, not unhappy with the value for money.

On arrival the check in staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was lovely and quite, even meal and entertainment was second to none,
Can’t wait to go back.!

Nice looking building. Inside looks like it could be updated in some parts.

Have been to Oakwood house several times, mostly for work related events. It's a perfectly adequate venue, but never really strives to be anything more than that. Large car park, landlocked by two of the busiest routes into Maidstone. They have decent facilities and it's a nice venue to be both inside and outside.

Nice enough. Typical conference hotel really. Room was clean and bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished. Will happily stay here again.

Room is very nice but the walls are very thin. Feels more like a wedding and conference venue than a hotel.

Thankyou once again for helping us organise a great night. When we first booked our 10th wedding anniversary party with Rosie we could not wait to hold it at the same venue as our original reception. Although a few teething problems when Rosie left with not having a clear person taking over. All went well, everyone had a great night I think but I know we did. Presidential suite was very large and comfortable did not get to use the jaccuzi bath but nice touch. Only negative really was the fact at the the end of the night, When asked if they could store our presents and etc. They did not seem sure then said everything will be at reception the next morning. Glad we decided to put the presents in our cars! We ended up having to go back for the rest of the cake as said that nothing was left! We will be back though as love the place.

Hotel is situated in between several schools which can be a bit annoying when trying to get into the site. Hotel looks really nice from the outside, but unfortunately they don't seem to have kept this historic character feel inside. It is very plain and flat with the rooms all being standard basic room with no character. The rooms could definitely do with improvements and some maintenance as my shower had several parts broken. Breakfast was ok is a self service breakfast with your standard cooked and cold fair with nothing special. This hotel was a bit of a disappointment. Some investment into rooms and food could help.

I attended Oakwood House for a Christmas party and as an overnight guest. The rooms are lovely and the bathroom especially so. Rooms also include things seldom seen in hotels these days, such as a phone and a hairdryer! Wow! The icing on the cake is the location. The house is fantastic. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful too.

What can I say we got married here on 1st October and had the most amazing day. The staff can't do enough for you even set up all our centre pieces and made the room look a million dollars. The food looks great, tastes delicious all our guests absolutely loved it too. I would definitely recommend this beautiful venue to anyone.

Stayed here on April 30 2016, my first visit to England. It's a beautiful hotel with some history and charm. The room was modern and clean. The staff was friendly and happy to chat and answer questions about the hotel and the area. And breakfast was delicious! I look forward to staying here again.

The staff in reception was very helpful and was nice to see a big smile greeting me, the grounds are beautiful and although my visit was short my experience was pleasant.

The food was really good and the staff we're helpful but we was supposed to have live music with our meal and the entertainer turned up half way through the meal. Overall ecperiance was good though.

Attended a room booked at Oakwood House for a workshop event. The room was warm despite a very cold day, well presented and despite the building being quite busy, very well insulated against outside noise. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Food and service were excellent, however ordering drinks was problematic, as the staff either didn't know how to mix them, or the bar did not stock the basic spirits necessary.

We came to this hotel as part of a large group out for our Christmas party. Was told 7 for seating 7.30. Food arrived dry, partly raw and only just warm. Pudding arrived in dribs and drabs and my husband had to ask for his after the waiting staff were moving away. Staff miserable. Coat check in lady moaning. What a dreadful experience never to be repeated. And it was nearly £70 down the drain…

Generally ok, but next door neighbour was snoring very loudly, towels and carpet were stained. Breakfast was good and the rest of the hotel seemed nice.

TERRIBLE! DO NOT USE HOTEL staff rude kettles inside mold. A lot of contruction on grounds. No room direction… out of all the hotels I used do not use this. Manager Keith rudest person and if flirting with his male staff needs to keep it in office!

The pictures look great, but this is not a hotel, they are council offices with very small rooms at very expensive rates. The breakfast is great. The staff are rude and dismissive. The location is a building site for some academic institution. You walk past the offices for the Kent adoption services to get to your tiny room. And they hate criticism.

The hotel was OK but hard to find.
