OMG I’ve just had the most amazing breakfast it was a 10/10 and the service was the same with no problems catering for my dietary needs great morning experience all done with social distancing in mind also slept like a drunk baby

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great quiet location down the road from the historic city center of Canterbury. Easy walking to the train station (Canterbury West) and bus stops close by. Wonderful bar and restaurant serving a variety of food dishes and a buffet. Quaint.

Staff was lovely and welcome, the Carvery was delicious and rooms were very clean, I loved having my hot chocolate on a morning :)

Popped in on the off chance of having a carvery meal on Sunday, wasn't really expecting to get a table but we did. The dinner was lovely, so tasty and proper gravy

Anaemic mushrooms, burnt lasagne, roasties that could knock you out and a disorganised service! This has gone downhill. Such a shame as it’s usually my nans favourite place to eat on her birthday. We won’t be coming again.

The reception on arrival by Rosario was very friendly, which did not change during my stay, also her colleagues were very friendly, attentive and helpful. The location near the city was quiet, which was certainly in the back room. Here you come back happy.

We ate in the Carvery and it was a 5* roast which included everything you would desire cooked to perfection and the gravy-the best ever!

Staff very pleasant and efficient. Food was well presented, well cooked and very delicious. We will return :-)

Hotel was nice and in a good location. Bedroom was small and bed was too hard. Other than that, no problems. Excellent meal in the evening and breakfast was the stuff of champions.

14 of us had a great meal tonight, all starters came out together as did the main meals and desserts, great staff and lovely atmosphere, thank you for putting up with us all, staying at the hotel would have been a great option if I didn't have to go to work tomorrow!

When we arrived they had got our booking details wrong luckily worked in our favour as they had booked an extra adult. When booking we asked if they have gluten free options and were told there was a seperate folder, as our daughter has cealiac disease we have to be careful with what and how its prepared. When we asked for the gluten free menu there were blank looks and a bit of mumbling under breaths and subsequently told there was no such thing but they had an allergens folder that stated what allergens were in their dishes! Out of all their dishes only one was suitable which was ham egg and chips this was on the adult menu and we were ordering for our 2.5 year old, the restaurant was accommodating and did ham, beans, egg and chips for her and charged accordingly. Not sure staff knew what cealiac disease was. We all had cavery which couldnt be faulted and price is more than reasonable. Decor has been updated since we had been a few years ago. Staff were friendly and didnt interfere constantly but checked we were satisfied etc. Overal it was ok, would rate higher but its frustrating when we thought the food was cealiac friendly especially when we had asked in advance.

We enjoyed our stay at the Victoria Hotel in Canterbury in a clean and decent room. The food is good, breakfast buffet excellent and service is appropriate. We would go there again.

Wonderful staff and food, great location, near family activities and a short bus to the beach. Very reasonably priced. The heat wave made things a bit warm in the rooms, but we would certainly stay again.

Great grandfather was 'dined out' by two granddaughters and two great granddaughters! Super menu for all ages much appreciated as was the staff involved. Well done.

It is ten minutes from the city which is fine to find tranquility. It consists of a bar, a restaurant and a hotel. It's perfect for a weekend.

I was visiting my girlfriend and we decided to go to the Victoria Hotel for a night and we are both glad we did. Excellent service with kind staff, fantastic food with a wide menu to choose from, and a room that was comfortable and well-kept. It was nice to walk into a spotless room! We are sad we only spent 1 night there, so next time we are definitely staying longer to truly appreciate the service and experience staying in such a wonderful and welcoming place. Thank you :)

We go there quite regularly for a carvery and it's always been good. During busy times e. G. Weekends it's best to book as it can get very busy but we've never had to wait too long for a table. Haven't stayed at the hotel so can't comment on that.

Had cheese pickle sandwich and pot of tea lovely and great value as comes with salad coleslaw and natchos.

We had a 7.30 Saturday night booking for 7.
The table service was very good, 3 had the carvery… which had no veg ready… so we went back to the table where the remaining 3 had their meals … One had to wait as her order had not been added… they were very sorry, and the meal when it came was free… when the carvery 3 returned, only 2 had enough veg, the 3rd perdon was told he could take his meat and return in a few mins for veg, but came back again and waited 2 mins before returning … Cannot complain at all about the food, it was very good.
It was not a busy Saturday night, so I dont quite know why the veg took so long.
Although it was not a perfect meal, I would go again as the last time I was there it was a lovely Sunday Lunch.

It is a simple hotel but very clean, quiet and the staff is nice and helpful. The carpet is very thick and well maintained, the bathroom is spacious and in good condition. It does not take the five stars because in two of the four days they only made the bed and they did not pass a cloth through the tub and sink but it is still a recommended hotel. The restaurant is good and it is quite close to the center, fifteen minutes of Nice walk.

A good range of food but their speciality is a roast. We have been here for Sunday lunch on a number of occasions and have enjoyed it every time.

Lovely hotel with very comfy beds and a great atmosphere, especially in the restaurant which serves delicious food. Also, when I came for a second stay I found that the TVs had been amended and contained all channels rather than missing loads of key ones like the year before. The only problem with the room I stayed in was the bathroom door which stands out as dingy and also doesn't shut or lock properly.

I stayed 2 nights for work. Room was nice, I was in a quieter room facing the back, bathroom also good. (Only negative was it was a bit too warm despite turning all the radiators off, but I always find that with hotels, I need it cool, 17 degrees, in the room to sleep ok. ) Breakfast was great. I had to get some work equipment posted to the hotel in advance and that was no problem, very helpful & friendly staff in all respects. It was one of the cheaper hotels in Canterbury and met my expectations in all respects. Great!

The bar was comfy and cosy, the staff were great all round, the carvery was not great. Potatoes tasted like they'd been reheated and the beef was very tough. The turkey was delicious though.

Very welcoming and friendly staff and check in experience. The rooms were a generous size with a large bathroom and updated decor. There is ample parking space at the rear of the hotel, but the walk to the city centre is only fifteen minutes. The food in the restaurant is also very good, especially the Sunday carvery!

This is by far the best carvery I have been to. The meats are lovely, lean and moist. Roast spuds lovely & crispy. Nice choice of fresh veg. & real rich beef gravy. They also do yummy seasoned new spuds with a bit of a kick. The staff are always friendly & attentive. But never hovering. There is a lounge/bar area with comfy sofas & chairs if you want a drink before or after your meal.

Excellent place to stay. The staff are so helpful and the rooms are nicely decorated and cleaned to a high standard. The food is excellent too and the Sunday roast is amazing and value for money. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to everyone.

The hotel presents well from the outside, the rates are very attractive for the UK (with possibility of triple room! ) but the places are dilapidated, with a strong smell of mildew that permeates the room. Good reception and correct restoration — in the quality canteen type. The services are limited and it is basically a hotel of passage, to spend the night.

I went to the restaurant here with my friend yesterday as it was it his birthday and he got to choose. He lives nearby and visits regularly and speaks very highly of the place. I found he was right about the staff — they are brilliant — very friendly and can't do enough to help. I'm vegan though and there wasn't a single meal option I could have and I ended up having chips for dinner. Even the vegetarian options didn't have the usual 'v' next to them. I nearly had garlic bread as the allergen sheet was wrong and said there was no dairy, but luckily the waitress was on the ball and knew it had butter. It came in a packet so none could be prepared with oil for me. I was very surprised as Canterbury is a very vegan-friendly city and I feel they're going to miss out on a lot of business if they don't modernise a tiny bit. It seems like a great place for families so it would be nice if it were more inclusive!

Ok hotel. Breakfast service was very slow and staff could be best summed up as being joyless and service is perfunctory. Adequate but not stellar. Friends in the area tell me the carvery is good though.

I travel a lot, and stay in hotels old and new. I don't care if a hotel is old, as long as it is well cared for. And this older hotel is. The carpets are clean, the bed is comfortable, and the bathroom is accommodating. Decent food in the restaurant and a large breakfast for reasonable price. Best of all, the staff is super friendly. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Wish we could give 6 stars! We booked in for a 4 night stay and were definitely impressed. Good staff, helpful and friendly. As I am gluten free I had a lovely roast dinner 2 nights and with this option can go back for extra vegetables. Hh.

Good sized, clean & comfortable rooms, the furniture is old but well cared-for and everything worked. Breakfast was excellent and great value for money.

The location was a bit outside of the main town, taking about 15 minutes to walk into Canterbury, but it's a nice walk. The room was quaint, nothing too interesting. The bar downstairs was nice, and we had a good conversation with the waiter. Service was good overall. I would have liked to have had a breakfast included though.

Held my mum's 70 th Birthday at the Victoria Hotel was a party of 12 of us and staff were so friendly and welcoming!. The food was amazing we all had the carvey which was delicious and very good Value!. Prices really good too!. Lovely place would fully recommend!.

Great hotel for a good price. Breakfast was very good, many different items and ok quality. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the town center, a bit long but ok.

Most of the meat was juicy, hair in the veg.

Nice Hotel from the outside, room for 3 large enough and bathroom of good size. Deco a bit sad, very British. BONB Breakfast. Own. Large parking lot. A bit outside the city (10 minutes on foot). Well for one step (we stayed there one night).
