Had the best time, absolutely lovely place to stay. This wasn’t our original B&B, we were double booked and St George’s was given to us as an alternative and I think we struck lucky. I can’t find anything negative about staying here, the breakfast was excellent and Mark?, who I called John… who sounds just like Alan Rickman… is such a lovely lovely man, really friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back. Happy happy happy.

What a lovely place close to everything beach bars etc, the people that run this property are fantastic couple mark & pearly defo going back.

The most welcoming people you could meet, tea and homemade cake upon arrival, fine attention to details such as petite sugar spoons, residence lounge to sit and chat with Pearly the owner, Very warm and friendly people, nothing to small a problem, anything you want just ask, I forgot my shower hat, kindly found disposable one for me, breakfast was fab, fruit salad, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, fruits, juice and fill English, followed by toast and pots of tea. The rooms were lovely, so comfy with mattress topper, sank into it at night, the sheets crisp and smelt Devine. Our bag was even delivered to our room as we had arrived early. Thank you mark and pearly, your hospitality was most amazing. We will be back. (Annemarie and Philip, dad and daughter from Ireland)

Comfortable and friendly hotel. The hospitality was first rate. Ask the proprietor about fossils and 18th Century explorers, for a fascinating piece of family history.

Just left st georges house. For a return visit. What can I say about this place. Other than lovely! Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Great breakfast and location. And the owner mark is the best host. Can't wait to return.

Just got back from staying at St George's House. What can I say the breakfast was to die for i. E. Fresh fruits cereal yogurt porridge and full English it was amazing. Pearly and her husband (I think Mark) I apologise if that's wrong made us feel so welcome. When we got back after 9 every evening Pearly came out with Tea Coffee Cream cheese puffs and cake to die for. Me and my family were there for a funeral so were only staying for 2 nights. I was in a twin room the beds were so comfy and my sister was in a double that was also comfortable and my Auntie stayed in a single room all are spacious and spotlessly clean tea coffee bottled water and biscuits in the rooms I just wish we could have stayed longer. Yes I will definitely be going back. Maxine Dryburgh.

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel very much. My room was immaculate, breakfast very well cooked, nice selection, too. Mick, the owner, very friendly and helpful. Great place for someone with traditional English taste. Very close the the sea front.

The only positive feedback for this accommodation is the fact that it is centrally located for the town centre, buses and railway station. The timing of breakfast was utterly inconvenient. I think 08.30 is a totally ridiculous time to start breakfast, when you would have thought most people would want to start their day by 09.00. Although I was given a packed lunch on my day of departure because my train back was at 08.18, it would still have been preferable to have had a breakfast, and when I make comparisons on other places I have stayed in, in the UK, this is the only one not to serve breakfast before 09.00. I even found it pretty laughable when Mick — in his own words — said that we are not a commercial hotel. Quite hilarious, really, when for a complete comparison, after having made the overnight ferry trip from Shetland to the mainland, I stayed in Inverness overnight and started my journey to Shanklin from there the next morning. I told the Proprietor I would be catching the direct train to Kings Cross at 07.55, so she agreed to serve me breakfast at 06.30. Her accommodation is Bed and Breakfast/Guest House, yet she served breakfast at the time I required. Clearly the Inverness folk are by far more flexible, and I guess they would get used to their guests returning on that London train at 07.55. However, Mick is not used to people needing to catch the 08.18 train from Shanklin to get people to the mainland in time for long distance travelling.

I am a little suprised at the gushing reviews. I found the the rooms clean but the owner (Mick) not particularly warm. Could have something to do with me being black and my partner being German in a hotel called St Georges. At any rate, I certainly would not stay there again.

Stayed here several times now, Mick and Jan the owners are very welcoming and fantastic hosts. The rooms are superb, spacious, comfortable, oustanding for a B&B. The breakfast is also excellent, and plenty of choice. We will definately be booking again and looking forward to going back! I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
