Truly enjoyed our stay, friendly and welcoming team, great food, cosy rooms the whole family enjoyed the hospitality, great little touch of the mini fridges in our rooms! highly recommended 😁

We were made to feel very welcome by Daniel and Katherine and their staff on a recent overnight stay. Very comfortable room and a lovely meal. Would definitely recommend.

Really lovely meal here — 10 of us in our party plus a well behaved dog. We ate in the restaurant side and it was delightful. Everything was done properly but without being pretentious. Food was excellent. Service was extremely good — friendly, attentive and helpful. Highly recommend. New owners and they deserve to do well.

We visited The Hostelrie twice during our stay at Goodrich. I believe the owners have recently taken over and new to the area but were very welcoming and friendly. The food on both occasions was delicious. My partner said it was possibly the best burger he'd ever had!

Just had lunch here & it was so good! Had fish & chips & my brother had ham, egg & chips. Really good food, great service & social distancing etc. I’m sure we’ll be back. Thank you!

Wonderful 1st Night. Very COVID-19 secure. Rooms nice and very clean. Evening meal was fabulous, best steak in along time. Cannot wait for the breakfast. Wye Valley is hidden gem. Cannot fault the staff.

Dog friendly. Great staff, great food. We stayed in one of their rooms for the night. Good facilities, comfortable bed however the room was above the kitchen and was very, very hot and stuffy. There was however a fan we could use.

Having previously had a nice time here it was a great shame that this time the visit was not so good. Food was ok, drinks also good, but the young passive aggressive manager was a big turn off. Not welcoming at all.

Not a bad pint, friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Not the best place to sit and watch the football though. Lovely, child friendly garden.

Fantastic food. We had the tiger prawns to start. Lovely satay sauce and prawns grilled as they were, great. The bass was really tasty and well cooked and the stuffed sweet peppers were incredible. Really tasty and everything was very well presented. Refreshing lemon meringue desert and a big cafetier of coffee for 2. Dogs very welcome and happy with the attention they received. Great drinks selection. Recommend the HPA. Fantastic service too!

It's a lovely setting. Clean, tidy and fast, friendly service. The beers are great and well cared for, with a good selection of spirits. The food is 'bigged up' quite a bit, but when it comes to it, it is as mediocre as other places I've been. I know it was busy on our visit (the meals we wanted were sold out), but what could have been a good burger was let down by a very disappointing frozen bread roll. Nothing wrong with using frozen rolls… if they're good quality before they're frozen, but this was something I'd expect from a car boot. Straight from a cardboard box!

Oh my gosh this place is so fabulous. Took my wife for a surprise romantic weekend and every single aspect of being there was lovely. She has already asked me to go back.

Unusual accommodation stone mullion windows, comfortable. Good breakfast, fine menue and a well stocked bar.

Really nice stay. The rooms were a nice mix between old and new which made it very cozy. The building itself looks fantastic. The food was really nice and the staff was very nice and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

The food is very good. Staff are friendly a nuff to let you use the toilet if your not spending money. I will say drinks and food are on the expenseif side. So if your looking for a quiet country pub for some nice food or drink. This is the place to go. On a nuther plus side, Goodrich castle is also a stone's throw away.

Popped in on the off chance for Sunday lunch on the way home from Symonds Yat. Met with a warm welcome (including our two spaniels) which continued with a well presented, very tasty roast beef meal and apple crumble. Excellent service from the whole team. Gold star!

Wow. Myself and my new husband have just recently held our Christmas wedding here. 09/12/17. Andi and his staff made it exceptional. They gave it their all. Superb 3 course menu with fabulous 3 choices on each starter, main, dessert. Lush mulled wine on arrival. Lovely wine on tables and toast drinks after. Food served at speed and hot. Decorations put up on colour scheme we requested. Room so warm and toasty. They gave extras that was not asked for. Our only regret was that we didn’t stay longer. We wished we had just stayed here as this was the best atmosphere and it seemed no one wanted to leave. Table changes last minute was no problem. Nothing was too much. What we saw last Christmas in 2016 when we stayed the night was what made us book for our wedding. So book here. You won’t be disappointed.

Re-visited after many years away, still great food and service.

Amazingly friendly, clean and welcoming. Happy staff make happy guests I took my dog with me and he was very well catered for too.

Two rooms, four adults and three small dogs have just returned from a one night stay at The Hostelrie @ Goodrich. The decor was quaint with a twist of modern, the beds were comfy the cleanliness overall was on point. We had fab food both evening meals in the bar and full cooked breakfast. No complaints Happy staff = Happy customers.

Poor service. Very limited choice of food on Sun. Roast dinner or nothing. If there is a group of people having lunch you wont get served despite several tables being free. Disappointing considering the property looks so good.

Popped in on the way back from Simmonds Yat, but they were fully booked, so we chanced it later and got a table. Not entirely sure why they reserve ALL the tables All evening, but anyway. Food was really great.

We have stayed here at the hostelrie for a quite a few times in the past few years. And we have been welcomed with great food wine and entertainment. The staff here are able and friendly and go above and beyond to ensure a good experience.

Lovely place, top drawer staff, outstanding dining and drinks, room was nice, breakfast good value and fresh produce, definitely go back.

This gem of a restaurant was found due to its proximity to the Goodrich Castle. Our visit was only for lunch before visiting the castle, but we are very glad we came. The food came in very generous portions and was the freshest, juiciest, and tastiest meat most of our party had eaten. It's an experience I won't soon forget, I'll be returning any time I come back to Goodrich, that's for sure.

Great pub close to the Wye. Only drawback was all the tables were booked so had to sit in the bar to eat. To be fair, It was Saturday the RWC was on, and a large birthday party!

Well cared for gardens and a good range of beers and ciders but the food was disappointing. A group of us went for lunch, some had the steak sandwich which was very good but served with crisps which seemed odd. Some of us went for the light bites and for £7.50 I had 3 tiny pieces of belly pork and a spoonful of salad. Tasty but tiny — the meal was the size of a tea cup! Light bites I know but only about 6 mouthfuls! Some had the fish and chips and it was agreed it was 'OK' Those of us that had the light bites ordered some chips to fill us up. The girl behind the bar was efficient but a smile would have been nice. We won't be going back.

Been starting to frequent The Hostelrie more now, following a change in ownership / management. Food good, décor been improved and service very friendly. A very warm and welcoming place to go for lunch or dinner or just a drink at the good bar! Dogs also allowed in bar which helps when on that winter walk! Also enjoyed the garden in the summer with the mini playground to keep the kids happy. Keep up the good work.

Menu sounds better than it is, and food overpriced. Room was cold and pub generally cold on the twice we have been.

Popped in here one Sunday afternoon for a pint, lovely Lounge Bar, very charming owners, large selection of local brews, roaring fire. Wished I could have stayed.

Arrived at 2pm for lunch, we were the only customers and the chef stayed on to feed us. Great welcome and service.

My daugter and I stayed over night in January 2012. After a 7 hour drive we were met with a warm welcome and pot of fresh tea. The hostelrie is full of character and quaint. We were a little stressed (being in the area for job interview) and Lisa and Alan were wonderful to us and really went out of their way to help, forgotten hairdryer loaned, hanging dress hem fixed and local knowledge imparted. They told us they had been there 18 month and are transforming the place very sympathetically. They are very professional yet homely and we would certainly have no problem in recommending the hostelrie.
