Great food, location and staff. Really impressed…

Took advantage of this weeks Saturday night burger eve and it didn’t disappoint… they were amazing.

We had a wonderful lunch here. Food amazing, staff awesome an excellent all round experience. Would highly recommend. If it’s on the drinks menu try the rum and raisin cocktail, absolutely lush.

Absolutely brilliant. Friendly service. Beautiful Local food with style. Dining room Was classic with a warm atmosphere, log fire It was a celebration meal out for our family, it definitely felt special.

We spent the weekend here and had the most amazing, memorable time. Special thanks to Luke and the team who looked after us so well, made for a truly welcoming and relaxed stay. We went for a ladies lunch date, the food was amazing, the staff friendly and helpful. They even arranged for us to get home, would highly recommend the set menu but the afternoon tea that others were having looked amazing aswell.

We recently held our Wedding at Verzon House. We could not fault anything. The Food was just amazing and nothing was to much trouble for any of the Staff. Rooms are beautifully decorated. We couldn't of picked a better place for our special day. Would highly recommended. Thank you.

From arriving at reception, to checking out; every member of staff at this hotel did their very best to give the finest service. We took advantage of their 'Platinum Package' that included drinks, dinner, breakfast and a trip to the Chase Distillery. Dinner in their restaurant was truly outstanding, I've eaten in some great places around the world, but this restaurant really stands out as one of the best.

Always a friendly welcome, polite professional staff in a relaxed and stylish setting. Fabulous cocktails and food. We love going there as a treat and are never disappointed.

Lovely location but do not recommend the restaurant at all. Firstly, the sample menu on the website bears very little resemblance to that which we were provided with. The price range is much higher than the sample menu, practically double. Secondly we waited over an hour for our main which was not acceptable considering the restaurant was pretty much empty.

We visited for a birthday treat and was excited to pull up to a grand looking building surrounded by trees and fields. We soon settled in to some outdoor drinks and ate lunch before changing to visit the Chase Distillery just down the road. We were able to sample a few rooms as we had visited with our family and all were nicely put together and all the usual amenities were there as needed. We was grateful of the fan in the room to help conquer the mad heatwave that we had. On top of that their is a great bar, nice breakout areas, what looked like a cocktail making course room and nice outdoor space. The hotel is lovely and quirky but the real win for me was the food. Absolutely delicious, it’s been ages since I’ve tasted cuisine like this and I can’t recommend enough that you book yourselves in for dinner whilst staying. A few items around the hotel need some TLC but I’d guess that could be rectified quickly. All in all a hotel I’d be happy to recommend and with a restaurant you really do have to visit.

Lobster and fizz for lunch, very nice! Lovely interior though could do w a spruce on the outside. Staff wonderful and attentive. Have been several times now, very happy to recommend.

We stumbled here by fete or accident, I’m not sure! Michelin food, wonderful service, we decided to stay… the room is just out of this world, the Labrador is welcome, we will definitely come back — and that’s before we worked out that there must be some link between the people here and Williams chase wine and gin… we couldn’t be more chuffed — thankyou x.

Spent a lovely birthday evening and night here two nights ago. What a lovely, relaxing experience. We also had breakfast and listened to some lovely music… a lady singing some soulful songs. I did ask the young lady waitress and she said it was always playing. Please please who or what was this album?

A totally perfect meal in wonderful surroundings. The staff were also wonderful.

I have been here a number of times, but yesterday went for Sunday lunch with family. It is the best Sunday lunch I've had! As always we were greeted warmly and had cocktails in the bar with a tasty sausage roll appetiser (free). Lunch was divine — a venison Hotpot for starter, roast lamb for main and a dark chocolate fondant for pudding. The roast comes with fantastic roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower cheese and a very tasty thick gravy. I would highly recommend it!

Lunch on a Friday Food passable, beer good, atmosphere zero, sounded like it was all happening in the kitchen with a radio & happy chatter.

Wonderful evening spent at the verzon last night great staff, delightful cocktails, and amazing food and idelic room thank you all for a special weekend.

Have been here a few times and on the whole we had another wonderful night. We were a party of 4 and started off with cocktails, which did take an awful long time to make, though they were well made and tasted good. We had a few of the nibbles to start — the courgette fritters were especially tasty! For starter the pigeon Kiev was delicious with fresh green accompaniments. The steak fillet was divine, one of the best dishes we've had here. Considering how good the rest of the hall was, the pudding was very disappointing. 3 of us choose an Eton mess, which turned out to be cream with white chocolate chips dotted through it and a strawberry on top. Distinct lack of meringue. We did receive compensation for this however. Service at the meal was good until the end of the night when we wanted the bill, all waitresses seemed to vanish. After having to go to the bar to ask for the bill, we then waited an extraordinarily long time before asking for the bill again! A disappointing end, but would go again and have that gorgeous fillet!

Top notch hospitality in an idyllic setting, with beautiful views. The food is a little bit special, and well complimented with a large g&t.

Great food, good beer, as well as wine and good service in a very pleasant environment. Enjoyed canapés, snacks & drinks in the garden before 3 course meal in the restaurant. Attentive but not intrusive service with a smile.

We had a lovely anniversary lunch here. The food was superb and every one was very attentive without being pushy. We had a small wine tasting to help us decide which one to chose for the meal. I have never been offered this degree of service before — even in France!
I would strongly recommend Verzon, even if it is only for a special occasion.

Always smiling, helpful & chatty whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism, nothing was too much trouble.
Accommodation is spacious and the food great.
It may appear to be a slightly limited menu but bear in mind that produce is sourced locally — a tenet at the heart of the business.
The Chase Distillery tour is very interesting and worthwhile.
We had a fantastic stay and would recommend Verzon House to all our friends, especially the vodka & gin lovers amongst them!

Great Mother's day Sunday lunch! Beef and lamb both lovely.

Visited for a quite celebratory dinner with my husband and were very impressed. The food was divine and the staff made a huge effort to accommodate us. Being pregnant at the time I was keen to try some of their mock-tails — a menu was offered and the bar tender (female) offered to make up a special if required. They also catered fantastically to my husband being gluten free and made up entrees to suit and were clear on which menu options could be made gluten free — nothing seemed too much to ask. The bar and dining hall were beautifully decorated — and dinners were seated with spaces across the hall to give privacy. Will be back!

If I could give this place more than 5* then I would. We have been twice now and both times were amazing. Everything from the food, the staff, the wine and the rooms were excellent! We had a mix up with the booking the first time and I can honestly say that nobody has ever gone out of their way to make up for it like the staff at Verzon House. I would like to make a special mention of Kate (the owner) and Chloe who made our time with them very special. We will definitely be back!

Great place to stay, fab bar, Good food and lovely staff. Our room was really nice (10) with a well stocked mini bar and fresh milk in the fridge… Little finishing details that make this place special. I can also recommend the eggs Benedict for breakfast!

Wonderful food, fabulous cocktails, great wine and an excellent atmosphere. Service is always top notch. We've been for Sunday lunch and Saturday evening meals and enjoyed both immensely. Can't wait to return!

We have had a couple of outstanding meals here in the last few months. It is always very quiet which is a shame as the food is. Both times we were greeted warmly, and presented with complementary entrees whilst we had a drink at the bar. Gorgeous homemade bread rolls complemented our meals which were fantastic, friendly and quick service, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
