Great food and drinks, comfortable bed powerful shower. They even let u lock your bike up in the garage. Top guys thanks!

Needed to have gluten free food and they were very helpful. They may need to know in advance. Very good food.

Stayed overnight on 23rd and was very disappointed at the standard of the food and accommodation. We paid extra for balcony and found a full ashtray on table when we went on to it. The shower was dirty with a half used shampoo bottle in shower tray. In addition the light in the bathroom stopped working in the evening and left us in the dark. The steak in the restaurant was tough and the pastry on the meat pie too hard to eat. Very disappointed that the response to complaints about the food and accommodation was 'sorry'. Not as sorry as we were!

Great food. Sunday Roasts are Amazing. Love the fact you get a free Dessert with every Roast. I'm a fussy eater and asked them to do certain things. They did all asked and made it a very lovely meal. Staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Would highly recommend.

A lovely setting overlooking the horse filled paddocks… good food, and great value with a homely and friendly welcome by staff… no waiting and good range of beverages to suit most tastes…

Served good pub meals for travel stop. Good play area for the children in a separate area where parents can eat too and keep an eye on them. Big car park.

The place was exactly as we expected from reading reviews and seeing the images on the website. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. TV with DVD player and plenty of Tea/Coffee and Chocolate and washroom supplies. Bathroom small but adequate, good shower unit, very clean. The food was of a high standard at a good price. All the staff were very pleasant and the owner had plenty of time to chat. We were down in Gloucester attending a wake and our stay was made a lot more comfortable because of staying here. Lovely food at good prices, especially the daily roast weekdays which you won't get cheaper anywhere else, and it was delicious. They also have a senior citizens menu which is also extremely good value. I always head for the Kings Head when in the area. Friendly staff and good service. 10/10

Lovely staff and beer garden with wooden park, food is very nice.

We got here about 2.30pm on a monday. Had the classic roast dinner. Very tasty and filling and only £3.99. Good service. Much better than a sandwich. Will go again when out that way.

Enjoyable lunch with some good friends in this brilliantly refurbished pub. Staff are attentive and friendly and our menu choices were beautifully prepared and presented.

Lovely food, quick service, great opening hours (including Sundays and Bank holidays), good location, free parking.

Took the kids here earlier today. Play area ok but outdated. Most annoying part was we ordered food and if you are eating in the play area then the staff call you to collect your food from the bar. I'm sorry but this is just ridiculous, I had to collect 5 plates of food, navigate the steps and a gate that is locked via dead bolt. Only to sit down and find the food is stone cold.

Lovely place awesome food just the location lets it down for me if your after a quiet retreat then this is your place.

Brilliant and friendly family run pub. Excellent clean and comfortable rooms. Everything you could ask for. Plenty safe parking, playground for children fully fenced. Excellent food and child friendly.

Nice pub. Poor food for the price. We had a Sunday lunch here today. My steak was tasteless and fatty. Kids had a roast dinner but refused to eat the Yorkshire puddings as they tasted burnt. Finally puddings. Eton mess made with mixed berries not strawberries. Again most of it was left. Would I eat here again? No. Much better about for less money.

Lovely friendly atmosphere. Food was fantastic. We both had steak. Deserts are out of this world. Beautifully presented. Highly recommended.

Great place great food and very reasonably priced rooms. Family run pub/restaurant. Has been in same family for decades always found them very warm and welcoming. Caters for large or small groups. With large car park easily accessible. And play area. Outdoor seating. With views over the countryside. In the main restaurant area there is even a special table set over a well the family discovered during renovations.

We stayed at the Kings Head Inn Birdwood 10/09/2015. Excellent is the way I would describe this place. Yes it is basic, but what do you need for a 1 night stay, a comfortable bed, nice shower and toilet, tea and coffee in the room and they supply hair dyer on request. I think all the bedrooms are at the back so you don't get any traffic noise. Room cost when we stayed was very reasonable. The restaurant again basic but the food shone, we had the salmon which was so nice, a lovely big chunk and nice veg. Drinks were a good price and even a bottle of wine was well under what you would pay in most places. There is Wi-Fi in the Bar just pick up the access password at the bar. This is a family run business and believe me the whole family work hard at this right down to little Mikey who has excellent customer skills. If you have kids there is a very well planned children's area where you can take food to eat if you want and there is a good seating area out the front where you can watch the word go by. Next to the hotel they have some Shetland ponies and horses which I am sure would keep the small ones amused if you take them for a visit. We will be going back here as after we left, we then went to Gloucester Quays and now we want to go there for a day to have a good look round and this place is excellently placed outside Gloucester to stay. A big thank you to the family for a very pleasant stay.

Great family pub for drinks, and food. Garden/play area for children with animals all around. Staff excellent best around (Pie pub was BAD down the road), good priced, well portioned food. Bargins for OAPs makes you look forward to your bus pass!
