Stayed at the Belfry 7 times over the last 3 months whilst our son has been playing in a local dart tournament. Cannot fault it, Shane made us feel really welcome, lovely staff, lovely room, lovely food and lovely breakfast with the best hash browns ever according to Olly. Highly recommend, thanks for having us 😊

Omg as if my favourite carvery couldn't be more hospitable than they are during usual hours, I've been so happy to have a take away carvery on several occasions since lockdown! Service food and price has not faltered, miss all the other friendly staff that make you feel so welcome as well hope to see you all back up and running at full throttle very soon x.

Great for Sunday carvery. Weekday menu is good, Bar food is good. Sport on a number of screens. Very popular place.

My (new) husband and I had our wedding reception here at the Belfry — Shane and his fantastic team we’re phenomenal from the first enquiry to when the last guest left the following day — fabulous service, food, atmosphere, so good in fact that both ourselves and most of our wedding party are already planning to come back for our first anniversary! Shane was the ultimate host — and we’re so very grateful for all his support — nothing was too much trouble, and we couldn’t have wished for a better day! Thank you all so much xx

The Belfry’s biggest asset is its staff. From the staff at reception, the waiters, waitresses and the spa team to the bar staff and bouncers at the nightclub! All staff are amazingly helpful, friendly and considerate. They really go out of their way to make your stay a great experience. Thank you everyone.

The food here is absolutely great. Really good value for money.

It was ok. Food was simple but tasted ok. Football was on TV when we got there and was on very very loud. Called in for lunch, menu was basic. Staff were very friendly though and very helpful.

Very tired! All accommodation is outdoors so hopeless in bad weather. My companion was 88 and no one offered to carry her case up 17 very wet steps to our room.

Nice enough for the price. Service was slow and the place could do with an update however, the food was very nice, the portion sizes were large and the atmosphere was decent.

What a great place to stay, room very comfortable, clean every thing you need, food tasty and lots of it. We even had a fab singer on Saturday night. Staff all friendly. Would recommend to every one Brilliant. Thank you for all your hard work we have had a lovely time visiting for the Forest of Dean hope to be back soon :-)

The Belfry is a wonderfully friendly hotel/ public house frequented by locals and visitors alike. There is a great choice of food, regular entertainment and approachable staff. The manager is first class.

Nice steak meal. Been coming to belfry for years and never had a bad meal. Nice rooms, play area for kids. Good place for drinks in the summer.

On a grim rainy Sunday it was a welcome sight to see a buzzing restaurant with lovely aromas of carvery meats. Good selection of three meats and not too many vegetables, very nice roast potatoes too. Only point to note was that gravy, though tasty, was too salty. Very nice chocolate cake for pudding. Staff were very nice, think our waiter was very new there, but he was lovely. Toilets were clean, though stalls were slightly narrow if you are more generously proportioned! Will definitely return when we are up in that area again.

A good pub for food rooms are very clean at £60 for two in a room.

Had my evening do here. Fantastic effort by staff and the manager shane. Finished very late yet same staff were on duty the following morning. Lush food. Great service.

Excellent accommodation our twin Room is very clean and comfortable. All the furniture and fixtures and fittings are top quality. The welcome tray is very good and just what you need after a long journey.

We stopped by for a couple of drinks and to use the toilet. We stood at the bar for what felt like 10 or 15 minutes waiting to be served and were ignored by the staff member, who was at first on the phone when we walked in, then left the bar and when they came back started doing something else, we weren't even acknowledged so just left.

Absolutely love being at The Belfry all the staff are really friendly and welcoming and helpful & the rooms are very comfortable would highly recommend a stay there if you're ever in the area X.

The Belfry is in the village of Littledean, it is a hotel/public house, we were in a recently built block of rooms, which are small and basic, very clean and with tea/coffee making facilities. Good breakfast, full English and a choice of cereal and yoghurts. Our only negative is that the duvet was too small for the bed.

Small, quaint rooms with en-suite. Breakfast is good and rooms clean. There was some noise in the night and the room wasn't particularly soundproof, however.

Went for dinner yesterday with friends, staff polite and very helpful, food was absolutely lovely. I had the Italian Stallion with beef and would definety recommend it xx.

Had a meal here and enjoyed it nothing extra special but good hearty food and good sized portions.

Had a carvery and lemon mirangue for dessert. Got to say it was the best meat I have started as it melts in your mouth. Dessert was lovely to. Highly recommend booking as it gets pretty full.

Does what it says on the tin irrespective of the unrealistic 1 star review. You won't remember the food in a week's time but neither will have any complaints. Generous portions of well priced standard fare. The accommodation is clean and modern, though somewhat characterless. If your are a real ale only sort of person you will find a limited choice but all that is available is well kept. The staff should get a nod as they were a hard working and pleasant bunch.
