Norton Park Hotel, Spa & Manor House - Winchester

We visited only for a day but was greeted by friendly, professional and helpful staff who made our stay welcome. The hotel was clean and tidy especially by the pool area. The lunch time meal was nice and we were never hurried which gave us lots of family time to socialise.

We went to a wedding here. Beautiful venue. Food was amazing and staff very helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean apart from a long black hair in the bath. I am ultra fussy when it comes to beds so I didn't find mine to be as comfortable as I'm used to. Also when I got into the bed a lot of dust particles came from the mattress, so I feel the mattresses should be hoovered at least once a month to get rid of skin dust particles. The breakfast was delicious best sausages I've ever tasted! Swimming pool was lovely along with the spa.

This hotel is stunning! The room is enormous with a 6 foot bed and plenty of chairs too. There is everything you could possibly want, iron, fridge, hair dryer. The bathroom has a bath and shower and is beautifully designed with a heated mirror to avoid it steaming up. There is instant hot water, the shower is fab, free shampoo and conditioner. The included breakfast is buffet style, cereal, bakery goods, full English bits with two types of eggs, bacon, sausage, fried bread, hash browns, tomatoes, mushrooms, baked beans, toast. There is a lovely swimming pool and spa and a gym. Everything you could want. The only thing I would say is that the hotel is spread over three buildings so it can get confusing to find your way around.

Big hotel and there is a lot of walking to get to the rooms. The check in was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and spacious. The choice at breakfast was limited in comparison with other hotels I have stayed in but the food was good. My only concern was that it took a long time for the breakfast tables to be cleared and people had to wait for a member of staff to make a table available. As we had glorious weather, we didn't use the gym or pool so I can't comment. When visiting the area again, I would definitely consider this hotel.

Regular visitor through work, high quality throughout with helpful friendly staff. Plenty of choice at breakfast and a comprehensive evening menu. I love the pool and saunas on site and the gym is also more than adequate, standards seem to be slipping of late, but still wouldn't stop me from coming back.

Decent hotel. Here for a business event. Rooms good size. Little bit annoying as the double beds are just two single beds pushed together. Breakfast is a buffet, quite wide choice. Grounds are quite nice. Not used pool or gym yet.

It might sound quite harsh to only give it 2 stars given that it's an AA 4 star hotel. I'll start with the positive. I would give the staff 5* as the ones we met in reception and the bar were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to assist us. So why 2*? Well you might get the impression from the website, that you're going to stay in a four poster bed in a lovely room in a Manor House you're not. You are most likely to be going to stay in a room which is no better than a Travel Lodge in size and to get to it you will be walking 2640 steps (Fitbit) down lots of winding corridors, up a number of stair cases and across walkways to finally get to your room. So what did we do? Well in the end given the mix-up as to whether my 16 year old daughter could or could not use the spa, gym and swimming facilities. Hotel staff had said 16, facility staff said 17 and even with a brokered compromise by the aforementioned helpful reception staff, all 6 of us felt like crying. The helpful and friendly reception staff arranged for us to have a full refund, so we didn't stay in the near identical rooms situated down the many winding corridors or get to have the booked spa treatments and swim in the pool or use the gym. We went home.

The hotel was lovely, we were put in a room in a house that is off of the main building. Only a minutes walk but the room was lovely. We enjoyed the spa facilities even though the steam room was closed for maintenance the day we went, which we actually wanted to use. The food is OK, very limited choice of you're fussy. Breakfast buffet was good, usual hotel selection but the evening meals didn't offer us much choice. We then argued with the staff because they said they couldn't offer chips so we had to order something else. A couple after us then had burger and chips arrive on when we raised this to staff they said that was the only meal they would honour chips orders, yet that's what we wanted to order and they claimed they didn't know. I ordered a salad and half of the ingredients on the menu was missing so I had to send it back. Turned out the salad was exactly the same they offered for an option at the lunch buffet.

The hotel was on lovely grounds, the rooms were spacious and the bed was comfy. We had dinner and breakfast included. Dinner was nice and the portions were a good size. Breakfast was good but staff did take a long time to refill, and there could of been more options. The spa facilities were very good, although the receptionist at the entry to the spa was very unhelpful, I asked where to go and she just pointed, went back to chatting with her friends/colleagues and didn't even offer a towel (that is where you need to get them from). Overall was a relaxing weekend away and within close drive to Winchester which is a cute city.

Food very good, room was a good size. The staff were generally very good, but the service at times could have been better. The hotel is set in 54 acres of beautiful countryside. To sum up a lovely hotel in a stunning location.

I would highly recommend Norton Park to anyone looking for a great wedding venue. I photographed a wedding there recently and really enjoyed the facilities and the tasty food provided. The manor house was great for brides preparations as well as drinks reception. And the barn served well for the ceremony and wedding breakfast. The staff was very helpful, especially the lady coordinating the wedding, everyone was well looked after.

Lovely location in large grounds. Most rooms located in purpose built desperate annex blocks with covered walkways to main building. Can be chilly at night walking to restaurant. Bedroom and bathroom very nice, but we found it very hot even after turning heating right down, and this was during just after the snow. Pool and Spa was lovely and despite the children's swimming club and other non guest activities a very relaxing are with beds around the pool. Restaurant was for us a little disappointing, no table cloths or place mats and very thick porcelain crockery. Menu choice limited but standard OK. Breakfast buffet very good. Staff very friendly although we did not like them clearing away and preparing the breakfast table around us whilst we were still eating. We were surrounded by the smell of candle was as the blew out the tea lights out. Otherwise very comfortable clean hotel.

Always have a lovely time at Norton Park. We upgraded to the Manor House which was excellent. The toiletries were upgraded to ESPA the mini fridge was stocked and included in the room cost. Real coffee bags and real milk. Our room was very large and comfortable. The evening meal was very nice, staff very helpful. Breakfast was a feast, the bacon and sausages are excellent quality, freshly cooked mushrooms and tomatoes were delicious too. The fresh fruit is always well prepared and fresh. All in all a huge success. Thank you Norton.

Staff should of done more, as couple next to me arguing till 2am keeping me awake. However check in and check out with ease. Tea and Coffee in rooms. Comfortable beds and decent sized rooms. Breakfast was lovely eat as much as you like. Beautiful grounds. Spa facilities and massage very good however spa therapist sounds very overworked. I am qualified in level 3 beauty massage and no wonder why I don't do that for work. It is too demanding.

Stayed one night, staff were great, very friendly in all areas, had dinner, food was nice. Breakfast was busy, but still very good. Would happily stay there again.

OK only but not 4star in a million years Premier Inn far superior. Tiny cramped rooms layout of hotel very disjointed Had to change rooms due to excess noise and smell of cigarettes coming through a double glazed window with knackered so called seals. Food OK pleasant staff. Also Housekeeping needs more attention to detail. Mouldy window frames. Dusty ledges and corners. Not worth over £100 per night.

SATNAV currently tells you that "you've arrive at your destination on the right", but as you approach from the south, the Hotel is actually about 200-300 meters ahead on the left and you cannot miss it. It's about a 5 minute drive to to the hotel from the entrance, Single lane, with lay-overs to allow for oncoming traffic, so don't drive fast. It's a magnificent location. There is a lovely reception, restaurant is upstairs. The food was amazing and there are all the amenities a spa can offer.

We used the spa in a day pass. The spa was great, very friendly staff, nice pool and relaxation room. However the bar where we had a light lunch was another matter. £20 brought two soft drinks and two decidedly ordinary sandwiches.

Lovely location, so beautiful. The access road needs to be widened to allow two cars to pass each other. Catering for our Christmas meal wasn't that good, portion size was small and I'm not interested in presentation. The bar area was well layed out and encouraged a good atmosphere as a result. The location allowed for lovely walks in the evening between the buildings. Will go there again for sure.

We were welcomed on a very warm summer day with fruit infused iced water and shown to a comfortable room. The pool & spa area we had to ourselves and the staff were very helpful, even had a go at making an espresso martini even though it wasn't on the menu. For a weekend break to visit Winchester and surrounds it makes a good base.

I visited to charge my Tesla car. The hotel provides 2 supercharger bays for this purpose and one bay for charging ordinary electric vehicles. The first time I visited for a charge nobody else was there but the second time 2 were charging and 2 were waiting, so I moved on as I had enough to get home. However a 6th car arrived as I was leaving, do it can get quite busy. The hotel itself is very well maintained and decorated, with the sort of customers who park their own personal helicopter on the front lawn you would expect it to be! There is no need to inform reception if you are charging and use of the toilets is fine too. Beware if you want a bite though, the sandwiches may be amazing but at £7.99 For the cheapest I will let someone else find out and review them, it's a packed snack for me!

Not sure what the Q stands for, but pretty sure it isn't quality. Went to the Norton Park Hotel to meet family for dinner, the food in my opinion was ordinary at best, the service uncoordinated. When a waiter asked if I enjoyed my main course I replied 'not really', I was offered an apology, but no alternative, and the dish wasn't omitted from the bill either. I raised this with the manager at the end, he suggested I should have raised it earlier (which I did). I then mentioned that I didn't finish it either, to which he replied 'was there too much for you? ' He then went off to do something else, so I asked the cashier what they were prepared to do, he went to the manager and came back to me to offer me a complimentary drink. The dish in question was priced at around £15.00, the total bill came in at just short of £300.00. I didn't accept the drink, paid the money and left. Very disappointing.

Afternoon tea. Expensive but sadly stale, curling sandwiches, scones were dry. Good portion of cream and jam, marmalade was an unusual addition. Other cakes were ordinary. I could do far better myself at home. Sandwich fillings unidentifiable. China was pretty though, and waitress friendly.

I visited Norton Park as an overnight guest and used the spa. The hotel was very clean. The room was nice and bed comfortable. The food was prepared to a high standard. I will be visiting again.

Staff were very welcoming and the room was great. Bath in the room was extremely deep and long, great. The food in the restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced. The spa was good and massage was prompt and felt wonderful. I had a great 2 nights.

Went for an afternoon tea after a morning of sight seeing — being tourists in our home town. Staff were fast an efficient and the sandwiches, cakes and scones were lovely with more than we could eat. The bar area was busy as the hotel had a conference/private event on, but they kept a separate area clear for other guests.

Very attractive fields and gardens. Generally nice interior and staff. Breakfast has good options. Lunch and dinner however, are not so great.

Our 6th Q hotel stay and Norton Park was lovely. Amazing grounds surround it. Slightly disappointed with the manor house stay… wish I opted for the modern suites but apart from that excellent service. Excellent spa break for me and my partner. We both loved it.

Went for my 3 year anniversary. Went for a spa break. Facilities were fantastic, staff were very friendly and food was great. I stayed in the Manor House, the room was huge and the bed was extremely comfortable. My stay included a hot and cold buffet breakfast, spa lunch, and dinner. The quality of food was very high. I would definitely stay again.

I found this place was kitted out for conferences and not soft and comfortable at all. Had we been here for a meeting or working in an office it would have been perfect but we were attending a wedding so would have been nice if it had been a little more plush. Our room was tiny we had a double the bathroom was so small you couldn't swing a cat so to speak and an uncomfortable chair in the room. Its just as well we turned up ready for the wedding because there wouldn't have been enough room for both of us to get changed with enough room and we are small people. A full length mirror would be useful and the furniture needs updating as it seemed very dated. It was however spotlessly clean and the staff were helpful and attentive but I just feel the rooms need more attention for the customers comfort. I cant comment on the breakfast because we had to leave so early in the morning to get home for work but the guests we came with have said it was very nice.

Lovely relaxing hotel/spa. Has a wonderful indoor swimming pool. Great gym area. Restaurant is lovely. Rooms are lovely. Enjoyed my stay here. I highly recommend it.

Dear Emma, Franklin and the team, Thank you for everything you did to give us the perfect wedding day. We really appreciate the time and effort you put into learning what was important to us and meeting with us as often as was necessary to get the plan together. It meant a lot to us that you agreed to try a different table layout and catered to our wish to have a BBQ and strawberries and cream for our wedding breakfast rather than the usual 3 course meal. The day went perfectly and I was very grateful to Franklin for adapting the evening plan and suggesting we moved the bar outside when we learnt that it was going to be a very hot day. The wedding cake cutting was a fantastic moment – the cheese tower did not collapse in the heat and we managed to cut it without losing the heart balancing on the top! Thanks! Justine and James x.

Norton Park was a great find for a relaxing break within a beautiful and peaceful setting. The hotel is very modern and caters for the corporate clients but this did not spoil our quiet rest as all the catering for the corporates is housed in it's own conference centre. Staff and atmosphere are relaxed but still attentive. Although there's a spar I did not have any treatments this time but did use the indoor pool. Will visit Norton Park again.

Stayed here for one night. Clearly kitted out for conferences and there was a large one on while I was there but pleased to say it didn't affect my stay in anyway. Had a room in the manor house which was perfectly fine and in very nice grounds. Dinner was OK but a bit more than I'd have liked to pay. Beer was also rural hotel prices (£5 a pint). Staff were polite and helpful, and breakfast was perfectly tasty.

This is a well equipped hotel with clean spacious rooms. Service is good and the food is perfectly acceptable. This is a four-star hotel although it is more suited to business stays or comfortable get-aways rather than spoiling yourself with luxury.

Cannot recall a complaint except I personally would prefer a shorter walk to my room because I have a walking disability. Otherwise hotel good which is why we have stayed tbere 8 / 10 times.

Rooms decent but very warm, had to open window to be cool enough. Staff friendly and welcoming.

The hotel is in a beautiful location with stunning grounds. The rooms are clean a bit small but all rooms are equipped with tea and coffee and even ironing facilities. The breakfast buffet was great with all the varieties and even made to order food at no extra cost. The lunch menu at the bar is okay not much choice but food comes in plenty. The dinner was delicious with starters and mains made well. On top of that they have halal chicken :). The location is quite remote so it takes 15min to reach town. The best aspect of this hotel was the staff! Especially those working in the restaurant. Emily and the other staff showed exceptional hospitality, nothing was too much for them and they did it with a smile. Great experience :)

Location was lovely, in the middle of the countryside with beautiful views. There are several walks around the grounds including to a small lake hidden amongst the trees. Room was clean, bed comfortable, shower etc worked. Service was good, staff friendly and happy to help. Breakfast was good, with a decent selection of food, however the choices in the restaurant for dinner weren't as good and was a bit disappointing.

Visited for a site tour, exceptional hotel, vast ammount of land and natural scenery with really beautiful character buildings.

Good facilities and nice staff. I only stopped here to charge my car.

It's not whether problems occur that define a business but how they're dealt with. Loss of power in the whole hotel, out of their control but no information given to customers, no suggestion of complimentary drinks etc. When power was restored our room had no running water — we'd paid for the most expensive room option but had no offer to change room etc, but was just told by the duty manager that 'we're all in the same boat' despite the rest if the hotel having running water! Absolutely no customer service skills, no hint of wanting to solve the problem or suggest an alternative. What a total waste of money… Would've been better off in a the Premier Inn for £29 a night.

First day was lovely, great treatment at the spa and spa facilities basic but good. Lunch average. Evening meal was very nice and service from restaurant staff good. Breakfast good on 2nd day and again spa facilities good. However, on our last night the power went off in the hotel, as I understand this was an issue for the area not just hotel, however the hotel generator didn't work so took a long time to get power back on (this wasn't as much a problem for us as for the poor couple getting married at the time! ). We decided to go into Winchester for dinner and on our return discovered that we had no running water, we went to reception to report this and were told it was to do with the power cut (only affecting the manor house that we were staying in and not the rest of the hotel) there was no advice given, no timescale of when it would be fixed, no offer to use facilities in the main part of the hotel, or to switch rooms, we were simply told "well we're all in the same boat aren't we". When actually we weren't because it was just the manor house that had no running water. Absolute disgusting excuse of customer service, which I myself work in every day!

Been staying here for over 5 years. Good facilities with spa, restaurant, bar etc. Comfortable bedrooms. Recommended.

Comfortable rooms, it's just a shame that you have to walk for 5 minutes between several buildings to get to some of them. I assume this is the reason why they charge an extortionate amount for the tray charge on room service, £5. The biggest let down in the room was the hot water, which took almost 10 minutes to warm up both in the mornings and evenings. The service is good and the staff are very friendly but another draw back would be the value of the food, £18 for the Lamb, which leaves you still feeling hungry, looks good but lacks sustenance.

Just spent a weekend at Norton Park QHotel with my wife. Friday to Monday. Couldn't fault it. Set in its own grounds it's so relaxing and peaceful. Great attractions within easy reach. Eg. We visited Portsmouth Historic Dockyard (40 minutes, use the Park and Ride), Winchester (15 mins), Bombay Sapphire Distillery (10 mins), Stonehenge (35 mins). Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms well appointed with everything you'd expect. Restaurant food superb — dinner and breakfast. Real Ale on the bar (two). Wi-fi reception good. They seem to have a nice pool, spa and gym although we didn't use them. Local restaurants in villages nearby are fairly close (10-15 minutes drive) but book first as they get busy. A great place to go back to after a long day site-seeing. Will definitely return as there is so much to see in the area!

Terrible. One the face of it, the hotel looks good. Took my wife away for a couple of days to relax, get some spa treatments and generally do nothing in a nice environment. Firstly, there is a distinct lack of leadership giving the impression that no-one knows what they are doing. Then it just goes on… while we were eating outside we had a guy (not his fault) jet washing the patio with a generator going during lunchtime in the blazing sunshine, food arrives but no cutlery (on several occasions), no water in the room for 2 hours, decor is shabby and the place generally looks grubby, some stroppy staff that make you feel like you're interrupting them, some event happening (Snap-On tools) with stickers and rubbish left strewn around the place whist they were setting up. We did get some money off after complaining but I would rather had enjoyed the stay. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Went to the hotel on the 10th January. Not very happy the Manor Place room was given to us. When I entered the room you could tell that it had not been cleaned as the phone was very dusty. The bathroom looked old and dated. The I saw an infestation of blue bottle flies on the both windows. I asked to be moved to another room. The staff were extremely helpful. The spa treatment was okay, my partner has to wait 20 minutes for his treatment, then he didn't get the full spa treatment which he was very disappointed by. He did speak to the therapist she replied just put it on the feedback form and walked off. The food was okay, but the so called fresh orange juice was the most cheapest awful taste ever. A hotel like that should be using fresh provisions not cheap concentrated happy shopper orange juice. Also the steam room smelt awful, they need to ensure that they clean it properly. I would not come again or recommend the hotel to anyone. I really can not believe that they are hotel of the year. There is some major improvements that they need to make. However the staff at the restaurant and head waiter were very helpful.

Good standard room, food reasonable, go on a special dinner bed and breakfast offer.

Awful went for a wedding that started at 2pm on a Saturday me and my wife went on the Friday before. My two sons and girl friend came on the Saturday when they arrived at 12.30 pm the were told they could not check in to there room until 2.30 so at 1pm there were 5 people in our room. I got to the wedding at 2.10 pm lucky for me the bride was also 10 minutes late. The next day when I went to check out and complain there was queue of at least 30 people some checking out and some who had been locked out of their rooms by the electronic card locks on the doors, I waited 10 minutes to speak to someone about the previous day; realising this would take over 30 minutes I just put my card key on the desk and departed. They should rename it Fawlty Towers, be warned don't stay there stay at the premiere Inn down the road.
