Worst hotel ever. If I had paid ~£30/night for this hotel, I wouldn't complain. But at the very least, the one thing you expect a hotel to deliver on is a good night's sleep. The noise outside was immense thanks to large drunken crowds of people gathering right outside the hotel window. The hotel need to address this noise issue or inform potential customers BEFORE booking, and amend their prices accordingly. The price is relatively extortionate, given the terrible customer experience.

Never judge a book by its cover! Great check in from very friendly reception staff. Reasonable car parking charge. Great location. Fantastic shower Only negative is the rooms could be cleaner.

Absolutely fuming with the level of service, I accept ibis is "budget" but the service doesn't need to be. After spending the night, keep in mind check out is midday the following day, extremely rude 'house keeping' staff let themselves into my room without knocking. I literally stepped out of the shower around 5 minutes prior. Not so much as an apology and swift exit, merely stood looking at me telling me he is room service! Soon left my room when I told this individual to get out and reminded him that my check out is 12noon. 20minutes later, a knock at my door… The same individual, simply say "house keeping". Again, this time very firmly, I reminded him my check out is at 12noon. Following that I just left as quick as I could. I went to complain to staff at the reception but they simply didn't care, to be fair they seemed overwhelmed by the influx of two customers at the desk.

Cheap and minimalist Hotel. All within reach. Train and bus station for all destinations within 5 minutes walking distance. Shopping center, harbor, and restaurants.

A bit noisy as next to mcdonalds but didn't bother us too much. Hotel corridors quiet. Reception staff helpful. Quite small rooms. No shampoo or shower gel, but it is budget!

It is fine for a 1 night stop off — the room has a double bed and a single raised bunk bed. It is close enough to walk to the city centre to get a full cooked breakfast or whatever takes your fancy. Otherwise the breakfast buffet is £5 each. Clean and quiet. Parking costs £7 for 24 hours and you can come and go after checking out.

For small money sufficient, but I can not recommend it, because my room did not exactly shine and my window was directly above the drive switch from a 24/7 McDonald's.

Great little hotel. Stayed 3 nights. First night had noisy neighbours which is a bit rude. Told front desk and music went off within half hour. Bear in mind it was 12:30am. Breakfast a bit dear for what u get. I would recommend eating out. Staff all friendly and happy. Good layout and very central to amenities. Train station 4 minute walk… retail park bear by and McDonald's drive through next door. Rooms cleaned daily and the cleaners were great and friendly. For a budget it's a very good hotel.

The room was exactly what we needed, not as small as expected with a great shower and comfortable bed! Loads of lighting and mirrors which was good as we booked it for a place to get ready for a night out. Staff were really friendly and parking is available. Perfect for the price.

I slept there for one night. The room was clean, the view was good and the staff was lovely. The only problem was with the TV, which I completely forgot to mention when I checked out for previous costumers. Apart from that a very nice and affordable place to stay.

Compact basic rooms, no tea making facilities in room. Breakfast options are basic too but guests can pay for full breakfast in the sister ibis 100 metres away. Excellent location if not the most scenic. Reasonable value for money for a last minute booking. Would pay a bit more for better facilities next time.

Hotel, simple, clean, friendly, breakfast, kids stay free, Wi-Fi, TV and good location (economic).

Small room but OK overall. My room looked directly over the McDonalds drive-through so there was some noise. No kettles in the room so bring your own. Shower and toilet were decent. Towels and small bars of soap are supplied by the hotel. They also serve a nice all-you-can-eat continental breakfast for around £6. Overall, it's ok. A decent place to put your head down for the night.

I have stayed in cheaper, nicer more peaceful places. We had to pay £7 to park our car. On arrival to the room there were chips on the floor. We were kept awake all night, by immature drunks playing in the corridors from 3 — 5.30 am. I don't usually leave review's but I will never return. Oh the shower was nice one star!

Cheap but too basic. The heating didn't work. Area not beautiful.

Nice location. Handy for shopping and city centre. Fuss free check in. Free Wi-Fi. Comfy bed and great shower. What more do I want?

For the price the hotel was fine. Reception staff were friendly and made paying for the parking £7, easy. My room was clean and functional. I stayed on the 4th floor and there was very little noise. Some have said the beds are hard, I found mine to be fine. Breakfast was basic, essentially cereal or pastry. Locally there are a few restaurants to fit most budgets.

Simple clean hotel. Rooms are pretty silent, but cold in the winter. Polite and helpful staff.

Budget facilities but not good enough for the price. Much better hotels in the area for less money with higher standards. The room was comfortable and clean but couldn't get the heating to warm up. Convenient location.

Cold bedroom and the heating system doesn’t warm up properly plus was very noisy. Staff was very nice and gave a small heater for me to use while staying. Room relatively clean. Had doubts if the bed sheets were actually clean/changed after last client, but the bed was comfortable enough. Would have been nice to have a kettle in the bedroom. It’s ok for 1-2 nights but no more than that. Good location though — close to train station, shopping center and multiple stores.

Basic but clean. It's budget so there's no kettle in the room but free tea and coffee in the lobby. Room is small but comfortable. You pay for what you get. Staff were great and continental breakfast was excellent. There a 24 hr McDonald's across the road so can be a bit noisy. I keep some earplugs in my travel bag so slept fine ;)

Ideal to spend a night before taking a cruise. Clean, good breakfast buffet.

I booked for 1 night with my 2 daughters. Our room had a double bed with a bunk on top. Comfortable and clean. The cubicle shower was clean and as it was a power shower very refreshing. No wardrobe, but had 2 hangers a day several hooks for clothing. If on first floor at back of building you can hear the drive through crackle from Mcdonald. The price very reasonable.

All right the q is expected of an Ibis, receptionists very friendly.

Good hotel, great price, friendly staff. However the bunk bed above the double bed is a health hazard. Each time I've stayed here someone has hit their each on it. Please put padding on the edges of the bunk bed to make is safer.

If it was basic and cheap you could live with it but basic and expensive is insulting. After a days work not even the facilities to make a nice cup of tea. Do yourself a favour and spent a few quid more… or find a youth hostel, pretty sure they are better equipped nowadays.

Good, clean accommodation. Only grip is from her indoors! No power point next to the mirror making it impossible to dry or style hair with a view into the mirror… a must for the ladies. This is the same across all Ibis budget chain. The designer of the hotel was obviously bald… My wife's comments not mine, LOL.

Nice bathroom, no lights. Wi-Fi cable can not be used on the Internet to play machine pillow is not clean, water is not a cup of drink is only flat, clean room. Parking meter.

Stayed for a night. Very clean and comfortable cosy rooms. The shower is in the main room which is odd but it's actually a good idea! Staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. No fridge or teas in the rooms but unlimited use of the hot and cold drinks machine in the foyer. It is budget but much nicer than some places charging £100 a night that I have stayed in. Totally recommend it.

Location is nice as there is a few restaraunts and shops just around the corner. Rooms are nice clean and tidy. Nice and cheap too.

Hotel was much nicer than I was expecting. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and it was decently sized. Location was great & very convenient — close to food, shopping center & anything else you may need. (Like Ikea! ) Staff at the front desk were very polite.

Cheap and cheerful, great for an overnight stay when you just need a room! We had to be at a wedding before check in but reception let us have our room keys early so we didn't have enough to leave the wedding to come back. Rooms are always clean and the free pastries are much appreciated!

Clean rooms, 24/7 reception, nice staff. Showers in the rooms, reasonable price. We paid 105 pounds for two nights and three people. Very comfortable beds, good for a few days because of closeness to train station and ferry to Isle of Wight. Bathroom is in the room without any extra door. If you step out of the shower you are in the middle of the room, not best solution but okay when you travel with friends. Breakfast not included in price.

Hot as balls. Air conditioning ineffective. Cheap though as I booked six months ago.

This is a really basic hotel although price per night is not really cheap (I paid over 280£ for 2 nights, incl 20% vat). Rooms are clean but small and really hot. I could not open the window though, as my room was facing a MacDonald drive-in and the smell of fried food was unbearable. Internet works ok but other amenities are missing: shampoo and bottled water are not in the room, as well as a phone. I did not like that at night there are homeless people walking in trying to get a room and junkies in the parking lot were loud until past 3a. M. I must add that the staff was very friendly. However, I would not recommend this hotel even for a short stay — for the same price you can definitely find better places.

Firstly, confirmation email never arrived. Then once in the room, no TV service, had to get staff member to help. Husband ended up fixing by reconnecting loose wire hidden behind a panel. Kept awake by rowdy guests in hall way — NO PHONE to call reception to complain — too intimidated to walk passed them to reception, tried sleeping with head under pillow! Awoken by horrific screaming and shouting coming from McDonald's behind the building at 3am. This continued for an hour — husband got dressed to get assistance from, reception to come and listen. He confirmed that they had called the police several times, but we would not get a refund as it was McDonald's fault also he could not do refund, only manager could. No manager on site over the weekend. Still noise also coming from other guests — we could even pin point the room the 'party' seemed to come from and let staff know. Left hotel at around 4am. Next day called to speak to manager who was 'too busy' to deal with refund request and was leaving it to receptionist to 'investigate'. Got a very apologetic email and offered 50% refund, which we accepted quickly before they changed their mind! Really gutted to have missed our kid free lie in : — (Pleased to have got some compensation, but will never stay there again. Steer clear if you actually want to sleep!

The clue is in the name of this place! Came here as a party of 5 and literally booked a room for us to put our heads down for a couple of hours. You are literally paying for a room and a bed and that's it. The room was clean but the top bunk bed didn't appear to be made which then begs the question — Were the sheets changed? Hotel receptionist was a bit blunt with myself and other guests and appeared to lack customer services skills. There is nothing wrong with this place. It's basically the Ryanair of the hotels.

It's the sort of place you only really want to stay a night. Cheap enough that the very basic facilities provided are OK. You just wouldn't want to stay longer. That said, the bed was clean, although the mattress was a bit hard. The shower was fine, and clean. The toilet was perfectly OK, and clean. Plenty of sockets for charging stuff, and adequate Wi-Fi if necessary. Location was great, too. Space in the room is a bit limited. But it was inexpensive. I didn't try the breakfast, because this one is right next door to a McDonalds, so I had a McBreakfast instead!

I stayed here for one night — budget is a good summing up! That staff were friendly, the room clean, nicely decorated. But you get the bare essentials — no kettle — plastic cups and the room was cold and noisy facing the road. But the bed was comfortable. It was ok for an overnight stay, but if I was on a family holiday I would go somewhere else.
