My wife and I were there three weeks ago. Since then we have traveled the Uk including Scotland in a motor home. The SOUTHSEAS LEISURE PARK was by far the WORST and most EXPENSIVE camp site we have visited. The showers / toilets were so filthy that my wife refused to use them. It is nothing more than a disgusting overpriced SEWER. Don't even consider the place. If your stuck for a place to stay in Portsmouth, you would be better off staying in public toilets than staying at SOUTHSEAS SEWER PARK.

The worst camp site ever visited — we've been camping for 30 years — and the most expensive. £40 a night for disgusting blocked toilets, over — flowing bins, untidy pitches. The staff didn't even apologise when we complained. And this is mid April. Goodness knows what it's like in the summer. Avoid!

Southsea beach… Nothing better on a sunny day. The east end is perfect for walking your dogs but don't go too far or you'll end up in the nudist beach.

We went for a meal, over priced for less than average food, they bought out the wrong dish and tried arguing that it was what we ordered? Very strange!

Have family living there but you feel out of place when your just a visitor.

Really nice relaxed atmosphere. Not the cheapest but very central.

Very nice peacefull place right next to eastney beach.

Been going for about 15 years, family has been going for 40+ years, unfriendly staff, the place is run down, overpriced for what you get, as a family we won't be going again which is disappointing, many people on the sire shared the same view as us.

Next to the Solent overlooking the Isle of Wight. Easy access to pebble beach. Good showers.

Advertised caravan as large ground floor room. Smelled of sewage near toilet on arrival, bedrooms which were advertised as larger than average barely fit the two beds that had been placed in each. Advertised as having balcony, there wasn't one.

The place was extremely nice, close to the beach, although a little hard to find if you're going there for the first time.

First of all the place itself is absolutely gorgeous! ; southsea, I mean, the location' right on the promenade. View's are amazing. Lovely beech, Lot's to see and nice walks. On the other hand the caravan park is a total let down, the staff are unhelpful, ignorant and so matter a fact. I strongly recommend Portsmouth and southsea but stay away from the over priced under cleaned caravan park.

I've been reading the reviews and personally I disagree. So the place is not the best, but I go there every year with my family and it has some aspects such as the location and the memories you can make that give it a special place in my heart. It takes a second to walk over the fence to the lovely beach and the entertainment at nelsons bar is seriously… unique. You don't have to love it at first, but in time you will.

We arrived Good Friday 2016 with our touring caravan, and found the site under construction for static caravan plots. The touring plots seemed to be dis organised and some of the electric hook up sockets broken, and pitches not very well maintained. The toilet block had had a bit of a make over but didn't use them as such a strong smell of paint. The site in general is a mess and I would say unsuitable for children. Dogs allowed on site but are not allowed in the tacky clubhouse you tie them up outside! yeah right Great location such potential what a waste.

Don't need a good toilet or a shower? don't mind dog poo on your door step? This is a contractors camp.

Staff are friendly, caravan clean though not well maintained 4 lights not working the curtains weere thread bare with holes in and did not cover the Windows matrices were very old and thin squeaked constantly, but the site was clean well maintained in general, right on beach so that's a perk.

We are due to Holiday at the park on the 18th May 2015 as part of a Sun Holiday. However they canceled the holiday without any explanation (apparently all the Sun Holidays were canceled) leaving plenty out of pocket. They seem to bare no responsibility to ensure our Holiday isn't affected and neither have the Sun Holidays even offered us a refund or option of another park. What a disgraceful way to treat prospective holiday makers. Never had a Park cancel a break before in my life.

As previously mentioned great location and potential, however our caravan was dirty and quite old. We paid £291 for 3 nights. We had a long list of issues which we raised with the "standards manager" after arrival and nothing was done. After countless wasted calls to the manager we had no option but to open a case with trading standards and our credit card company.

DISCUSTING! if only I could show you the photos of what I have to stay in. Asked if we could pay to upgrade but there was nothing else avilable. Bunks are dirty, cooker is filthy, fridge is rusty and dirty. The vent looks like its never had a wipe around. There is a splodge of jam in the cuboard. Yoghurt stain on table. My bunk is broken so when u sit on it u fall through! The splash back is greasyer than a kebab shop. I could go on but I think u get the picture. Iv seen the manager go to three othe identical caravan who seem to be having the same problem. Stay away. Do not book please trust me.

When I stayed here in 2007 the site was well maintained, equipped with adequate facilities, smiling staff and not too pricey. Returning in 2014 was a shock: I have stayed on campsites all accross Europe, including London, central Paris, Berlin and Rome, but NOWHERE I had to pay such a ridiculous amount of money for one night (one person, tent, bicycle) : 25 pounds! I asked why it was so expensive, and the grumpy lady at the reception said that they were the only campsite in Portsmouth and close to the beach. The place is run down, dirty, the grass is in poor condition (I was there in August) and most of the showers were out of order. When I found a functioning one, it turned out that the water was so boiling hot (no temperature knob) that there was no way any living being would survive a wash. Never again. Avoid this place.

Wish I had seen the reviews before we went there. They are very accurate! Loos and showers filthy and broken, our electric hook up was unsafe/broken so we didnt plug in, no lights in the mens showers, we were put amongst motorhomes who live on site so got woken early with them leaving for work! Complained about the facilities next morning, all they did was fill in a maintenance form, no formal apology or offer of any refund for the fact we just stayed there and didnt use any of the facilities! DONT GO THERE.

Have stayed twice, 2013 and this year. Must say the facilities have gone down hill since last year. There are alot of builders and eastern europeans onsite staying in the caravans. Its not really a kids campsite tbh now. Shame really. Apparently theyre waiting for a big holiday company to confirm investment then there revamping the whole site. Once thats completed I may try it agaon, but until then ill not be returning.

Great location with such a huge potential. Ideal for people that don't use the toilets and showers. The shower and toilet block is quite old, filthy and not took care of. The place is also not cheap and im not sure if they are reinvesting the money into it.

I am originally from Portsmouth and I have to say how embarrassed I am to have such an awful site representing a great city. Avoid this at all costs, firstly Reception not clearly marked and not sure where you were meant to park up to book in which led to us having to manoevre our caravan. Once in reception an unfriendly welcome as the warden was engrossed with her computer screen and eventually said (with no eye contact with us) she wouldn't be long. We always extend our last day and when I enquired about this I was advised that would be £12.50! The site was already expensive for what you get so thought they were really pushing it at this stage. The site itself is neglected and dirty with no attempt at any form of 'landscaping' I couldn't wait to leave.
