Stumbled across this gem of a place. The T-bone steak just melted in your mouth and my friend had a very tasty gammon steak. I would highly recommend this stunning country Inn.

A warm welcome always, so long as it’s Janet you see! joking! John’s lovely too. Great food so can’t wait to get down there this Saturday to celebrate the end of lockdown!

Had a lovely takeaway tonight from The White Horse, delicious Fish & Chips, definitely recommend!

Food is amazing and proportions are generous. Everyone is friendly and say hello as soon as you walk through the door. Will look forward to sitting in the beer garden during the summer.

Had a wonderful evening here. Very friendly staff. Owners Janet and John super friendly couple. I didn’t book a room in time and there were none left on the night so next time I will book earlier to avoid missing out. Don’t make the same mistake. Book in advance. This is truly a lovely old 15th Century Inn. Has a wonderful atmosphere steeped in history. I really would have loved to have stayed here on my recent visit. Listening to people at the bar (who told me they were regulars) they were all welcoming and friendly too. You just get talking to people. It’s that sort of place where you feel good and relaxed. Have nice meal and enjoy a family evening out. Or have a meal there. The surroundings are nice too.

We had a very yummy Game pie here last night. Landlady and staff very welcoming and friendly. We would recommend the Pie.

Just had an excellent lunch at the Whitehorse Inn. Service was great and unhurried. Great selection of drinks and the food was amazing! We went traditional, with two of us going for the fish and chips, while I had the sausage and mash and mum opted for the risotto. All agreed that the food was delicious and the portions generous. Give it a try — you wont be disappointed.

Warming friendly and licrly garden and food great for kids family's singles couples. All round great place.

Great Sunday lunch reasonably good portions, nice and friendly, nice beer.

Had lunch here today. Roast lamb dinners were very nice. The roast beef dinners had only one slice of thick cut beef. Not really enough for adult men. The cod fish fillet had been cut in half to make 2 portions and the chip portions were measly. The chicken and mushroom pie was awful. Not much chicken and pieces of white wet chicken skin. The amount of chips on the plate was also measly. We did ask for more chips and we did point out that the chicken and mushroom pie had lots of chicken skin in it. When I paid the bill the barperson who had seen the wet white chicken skin told me that the chef only uses skinless chicken … which makes me wonder what the hell the white wet mess was!

Fantastic traditional local pub… new management Jon and Janet are doing a great job of breathing new life into the pub. Roast dinners on Sunday have greatly improved with the introduction if a new chef… as has all the menu. Beer garden as always great for the kids to run around in in complete safety. Keep up the good work!

The White Horse used to be a great pub, great service and good quality food. It has recently changed management. The food is terrible and the service is appalling. The new management have no idea how to run a country pub. Great shame.

This has been a good pub in the past. But just lately the food seems to have gone down hill. Staff are good though.

Stunning little country boozer. Amazing food and friendly staff. Beautiful garden and dog and child friendly. It’s a must!

An excellent place for great food and excellent local beers. The garden is superb and kids are more than welcome.

We only stayed for the one night, but it didn't take that long to realise it's a little gem. A beautiful thatched hotel with a lovely garden. The rooms were perfect and in keeping with the building. The staff were amazing, so friendly, welcoming and willing to help us with all our requests. From directions, taxis to allowing us and extra hour to recover from a 3am finish. Food was amazing and the fresh cooked breakfast was a life saver. If you need a hotel in this area I would highly recommend it.

Although next to the A303 it's still a good stopping place. An updated country pub, with good parking. Had a decent starter & excellent pudding. Main course not quite as special as the "fine dining" as advertised (hence not a 5 star), still good though. Good comfy seating & very pleasant surroundings.

Amazing Sunday dinner and even better normal menu. The prices are incredibly reasonable with the portion sizes being even more generous. Definitely worth the trip regardless of the distance, especially for the fish and chips which are amazing and enough to feed a small family of 4!

Can not fault the staff, food, the atmosphere, absolutely lovely place to have a quiet drink or a 3 course meal. Cant recommend it enough.

This is an amazing place to go for food, ambiance and wonderful service. But more than this, they have given ny dad a new lease of life, because these guys care. We were there last week and for a Monday it was an extremely busy lunchtime. The staff worked so hard but still made us welcome. They are a credited to the Inn.

Had a fabulous meal here today. Excellent service and food. Would highly recommend. Very close to the Thruxton Circuit (5 minute drive).

We had a lovely lunch last Friday. We were visiting the racetrack at Thruxton and was running late and in need of a quick lunch after a long journey. The pub was excellent taking our order and delivering the food to our table in 15 minutes even though the pub was very busy. Service like this is so hard to find and was really appreciated. Thank you.
