Just a no from me. Overpriced and pretending to be something it isn’t. The atmosphere was stuffy and the staff not particularly friendly. Food was average and after the starters arrived lacking any kind of flair we decided to cancel our mains and go elsewhere. The point of ‘gastronomy’ is that you pay more to be served imaginative and good food. Smoked salmon trimmings dumped from the packet to the plate with nothing else just doesn’t cut it.
A tip for the surly restaurant manager — when you’re asking people to pay £22 a head for a main course, the answer to ‘what wine do you do by the glass’ is not red, white or rose.

First meal out since lockdown. Lovely environment. Felt spacious and safe. Fab food and service. Well done to the team.

We had dinner there tonight and it was excellent, great food, lovely relaxed atmosphere, fabulous staff, can't recommend it enough. If you have any concerns about coronavirus and safety, these guys have it covered. Everything ran really smoothly without stress or confusion. I was so impressed with how they've made it work in these trying times.

Perfect old world atmosphere warm and welcoming staff.

Fantastic wedding venue use of the pavilion and oak room. Fantastic staff special thanks to Phil who accommodated our every need all day, nothing was too much trouble loved every second of our 2 night stay for our daughters wedding highly recommend if you want a five star wedding service along with a great atmosphere and great food. Well done we couldn't of asked for better xxx.

We had our Wedding Reception here recently and we were so impressed with the service from start to finish. The day went perfectly and Jamie was a fantastic coordinator throughout. All our guests commented on his professionalism and the quality of the food served. We would 100% recommend this venue again to anyone considering a wedding or other such event in the future. Love this place. Can’t fault it, log fires in a relaxed atmosphere then a professional friendly bar/restaurant environment and amazing food. Never had a bad mouthful here!

Lovely food and service is very good.

I could have driven back home after the wedding, but I am so glad I stayed. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms fantastic, they cater for your every needs, the hotel is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Would definitely stay again.

My daughter treated me to Sunday lunch today. I have to say the service was excellent and the lunch has got to be the best I’ve tasted so far. Full marks.

Beautiful wedding venue/hotel/pub would highly recommend! Lovely interior, comfortable and very friendly and helpful staff. The garden area was lovely and the wedding reception and ceremony room were really nice spaces too. Food was yummy and a good selection of drinks to choose from 5 stars!

Nice place it's my local what else nice shaff good beer good food and Charles the owner will do over and above and trust me we have had our moments there.

The very top of the pub league, sheer quality with beautiful furnishings and a delicious restaurant aroma about the place. The beer is as it should be. You just know the food is going to be very good.

I attend this restaurant on a regular basis and I have enjoyed it every time without failure. However the staffing recently has gone downhill and the customer service is poor. When I questioned the owner about when my favourite staff members were not working he was too pissed to even answer me. Shame on you Charles.

Made a booking after reading a piece in the local paper. Once we arrived it took 30 minutes to be seated! What were they doing? Hand crafting the table and chairs from Sweden birch wood? Shamefully it only gets worse. Next the drinks order came, I'm 5 years T total and my non alcoholic cocktail came filled with vodka and rum! 10 AA meetings later and I'm finally back on track. Then the food comes Luke warm at best, with gravy thinner than water!

Enjoyable afternoon of food at The White Hart, Lydgate. A good selection on the menu in the brasserie. The staff were generally polite and helpful. The only issues were the portion sizes in the set menu. They were a little on the small side. Also the chips on the Fish & Chip main course need to be improved. They were dry, but not in a crisp/crunchy way and need some improvement. Despite the minor issues I'm still scoring it 5 stars.

Just had our wedding at the White Hart on Saturday and the staff were amazing from start to finish. A big thanks to Jacob who was our master of ceremony, he was very attentive and made sure the day went off without a hitch. The food as always was amazing. We had salt beef hash brown, lamb and sticky toffee pudding. All the guests commented on how amazing the food was. The events team were brilliant on the run up to the wedding and everything was so well organised and executed. Thank you so much to everyone at the White Hart who made our day so special, Emma and James x.

Form start to finish I found the white hart staff to be professional helpful and friendly. The venu is amazing, the food is unsurpassed. I would recommend this venue to anybody and not just for weddings. Maria and I could not of hoped for a better day and to beat it all compared to every other venue we looked the value for money is incomprehensible against what others charge for a lower quality venue 5

Ordered 4 meals 2 adults 2 children. 3 of the meals were great as you would expect from a place with a Michelin star. However one of the children's meals was tiny and breaded chicken was very tough and hard to cut into. My child ate the meal as she was so hungry but was still hungry afterwards. A McDonald's happy meal would have been more appetizing and this should not be the case when you are paying £7.50 at a place that boasts great food.

Beautiful old pub with excellent food. We just nipped in for the early evening menu but we weren't disappointed. They even let the dog in as we ate in the snug at the front rather than in the restaurant. We'll definitely be back without the dog to try the tasting menu.

We got married here two weeks ago and could not have asked for a better wedding venue. From start to finish, Mike, Ian, Phil, all the events team and the staff on the day went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. The food was a major factor for us when choosing a venue and having dined a few times at the White Hart and The Dining Room we knew it would be exceptional, and it was. Everyone we've spoken to since the day has told us how much they loved the meal and so did we. Phil and Jacob were brilliant at making sure everything ran smoothly on the day and were there to reassure us at every step, and the service from the bar and waiting staff was superb too. They also made the set-up/breakdown a breeze for us. The venue is just beautiful and exactly what we were looking for — particularly the Pavilion which allowed us to have a semi-outdoor ceremony with a bit of cover in case of any rain (thankfully it stayed away! ). Everyone really enjoyed the pizza out there in the evening too. The accommodation was beautiful too — both the cottages and the rooms inside the pub made a lovely setting for the getting ready pictures. I can't recommend the White Hart enough for anyone planning a wedding (or just looking for a good meal/night away). We could not fault a thing and we couldn't have had a better day.
