My first time staying at Best Western Smokies and I'm sure it won't be my last. Although my room was a little dated it was very clean and comfortable. They staff were friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, even with a large wedding taking place at the hotel I was left feeling like "my stay mattered".

This hotel is conveniently located with good parking, quite at night with friendly staff, good place to stay just outside Manchester. Best Wi-Fi I have had at a hotel in the area. Breakfast was excellent Only negative was no room service menu.

Really like this hotel, nice location just a short drive from Manchester, good parking, landscaped grounds, good quality breakfast, and very good service. Room was very clean. Seems very well run. Excellent value for the money. Noticed there were conference facilities.

Fabulous place to stay. Great sized room. Food was lovely. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Went for the Sunday Carvery today (6/5/18) there was 10 of us including 4 children, the food was excellent with plenty of choice. The waitress and chef where a billiant will definitely be going again.

When I booked this hotel, I thought it was in Manchester. It turns out that it's in Oldham. Although we had to taxi/Uber places, it turned out to be a lovely property. We explored both Oldham and Manchester, and I personally preferred the pace of Oldham to Manchester. The property was older, but clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend the restaurant. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff went above and beyond to treat us right. All and all the stay was very pleasant.

I was at a Christening, the room was very nice but we had over 100 people there and only one bar staff, yet in the the main bar, down 2 flights of stairs from our function room, the bar had 4 guests and two bar staff. Surely logical would dictate put the staff where they are needed.

Excellent rooms clean tidy refreshing, staff friendly and welcoming. Bar and food service are well worth visit. Food excellent good value for money xx.

Stop here frequently with work. The staff are always excellent and the food is good. Some of the rooms have been refurbished and are great. If you do get one that hasn't be refurbished they are showing their age but still very comfortable. The people who work here make this a great hotel and I wouldn't hesitate making a recommendation and in fact have on more than one occasion.

Another great nights sleep at Smokies. Very professional staff, good quality food and very comfortable rooms all at a very competitive price. What more could you ask for!

Overnight stay in one of the premium suites "Palace". A good size room, good in room amenities… tv, fridge, tea making facilities, iron, ironing board, safe. But the carpet needed replacing, it was (looked) filthy, heavily stained. Staff were attentive, breakfast adequate and plentiful.

Visited for a New year's Eve dinner dance. Place was nicely dressed for the event. Food was good especially the steak. Drinks averagely priced for a hotel. Service was slow & chaotic due to a flood in one of the rooms which meant that two parties were merged. Entertainment was a band which I enjoyed. Despite the failing of the event to run smoothly I would recommend & would attend another event.

The place is really nice. Staff are lovely. Well organised. Nice food. The only let down is the parking. It's a nightmare. If you are disabled I suggest you get someone to drop you at the door then they go and park.

Large hotel with broad range of different type of rooms. Rooms are generally large, comfortable and clean. Tea making facilities in the room and decent size desk. Breakfast is served from 6.30am which is ideal for the early birds. Reception are helpful in ordering taxis if required. Eating on site in evening plenty of choices with bar meals or a decent restaurant.

Good hotel, only it is very far from Manchester and in Oldham there is not much to do and less at night. The parties in their bar are good and the people of Oldham frequent it a lot and they are all very nice.

Room 117, ground floor. Nice, warm and comfy. Cooked breakfast in the morning was great — unlike the normal dried biscuit of black pudding, you are treated to a moist and succulent bloody delight! Three scrambled eggs were really tasty too, pesos because the chef hadn't cheapened the dish by adding too much milk.

Nice food with good portion sizes. Staff friendly and helpful. Reasonable price. Dining area was nice and clean with good music playing (Northern soul/Motown).

Lovely place to stay. Brilliant function rooms. Staff very helpful and good at there job. A must stay just for there breakfast. 5

Recommend best western hotels. If all like the one in oldham great service good food. Very very polite staff.

Great for family evening weddings ecs with available hotel for crashing out before moving on good place inside.

Attended a wedding here. Was really nice. Rooms clean. Bed was huge. Didn't have towels on arrival but quick trip to reception and this was quickly sorted. Bar staff were great and kept the residents open until at least 4am once the function room closed down. Missed breakfast so can't comment on that (served 7 until 10 am) but the wedding meal was very good. Would happily stay here again.

Ample parking and good clean rooms. We were very satisfied with our over night stay and will definitely return.

Location is OK and has an overflow car park for when weddings roll into town, room was a good size, clean and well stocked, reception pleasant and efficient, lift available should you be above ground floor, all in all a good hotel.

Thought it was going to be a nightmare because there was a wedding on but no problem at all. Couldn't hear the celebrations going on so the stay was very good. The room was very nice.

Attended a wedding reception here and found the space great, facilities were lovely and everything accessible.

It was a nice enough hotel, I had a curry in the bar the first night I was there. It was a bit rubbish. The food in the restaurant including the breakfast was very nice and the staff in the restaurant were really friendly.

Good service, food is nice, rooms are a good size. Currently refurbished the bar at the moment so only restaurant available but plenty to do near by.

A bit of a hit and miss. Location is fairly decent and quality of room is fairly good. Bar area felt understaffed and unfortunately, parts of it was being refurbished (kept tidy and clean by the contractors so not like a construction site). Breakfast was typical standard fare and again felt understaffed. It's okay but could be better.

Good value for money, rooms were clean. Beds were nice, but not as comfortable as I would expect. Car park is relatively tricky to navigate and usually full.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with an outstanding breakfast served. Overall a great experience. Recommended.

I went for my work christmas party. We had a great night. The food was ok and the entertainment was fantastic.

Christmas do. DJ was really good and I normally hate functions like this but he had everyone doing dances together with some good games.

Just returned from a stay at' smokies' for my nieces wedding… absolutely fabulous! beautiful room with enormous bed. Staff so helpful and always smiling… food stunning and hot! hope we hold all our family occasions there …

The hotel chef's are excellent in accommodating customer meal requests. I asked if they could provide soya protein based meals such as shepherds pie. They did, and these were excellent. I also find the hotel reception staff (Jay and Aimee this week) are upbeat and very helpful.

Excellent staff nothing to much trouble, very clean rooms and very quiet. A pleasure to stay at.
