New manager with a great sense of providing a community pub. Excellent beer kept well and 3 diffent meals tested over weeks. Consistent friendly community pub.

Even 1star is generous… probably one of the worst pubs I have ever been to… Somebody who knows how to run a pub and build a proper business needs to grab hold of this place and deal with it. It is a potential gold-mine but instead… a continuing failure!

DO NOT BOOK A FUNCTION HERE! booked a function room in December; turned up on the night, decorations, DJ, caterers and guests in tow… only to see the pub was CLOSED! My function ruined. No contact made to this day by the pub to resolve the issue after emails texts and phone calls. I gave one star as zero was not an option to write a review! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

A place to be avoided. I booked for two nights but only stayed for one. The carpet was dirty and half of it was missing. There were hairs near the tea and coffee. The vertical blinds, some of them were missing. No mirror or bedside lamp in the room. You had to stand at the bottom of bed to use remote control. The area had takeaways and a small supermarket. We pointed out our issues to the receptionist, she told us other people do complain.

Nice place to have some rest after a looo… ong day in London. Had a good nights sleep, nice bed and spacious bathroom. Not so quite in the daytime since it is by the main road. Didnt get a chance to try te pub but seemed a very popular place with good service. NB:Room we got didn't have ceiling fan or A/C hence if you are looking for either please be aware.

Used to be an old boxing training place where Duke Mackenzie used to train… they closed down after there had been a murder there but since they opened its quiet. Expensive on the drinks not worth going unless you want a quiet drink.

Stayed here as it was the only place we could find last minute. Nice big rooms that were clean and tidy. Wi-Fi was an issue as it would have come in very useful but the connection didn't reach the floor we were on, I recommend getting another router. Also the lighting in the hall was poor, no light on in the hall outside our room until the last day and it was just a bit of the pain seeing and getting keys out and in the door. Staff were lovely and very accommodating, would have liked to try the food in the pub below but there was none as they were changing the menu so I hope it's good! :) finally if you are a light sleeper I think you should avoid any rooms along the road as it's really loud all night even with the windows closed, it didn't bother me but be aware if noise affects your sleep.

Worst. Pub. Ever. Overpriced small selection of bland lagers. Doesn't serve food. Locals are either drunk, aggressive or both. Changed manager so many times but somehow always finds new ways of scraping the barrel. No idea how they are still in business.

It's ok. But feels like it's a service station on a motorway trying to run a pub. The staff don't love it, they have a limited selection of lager and not one single Ale. Today, there is something wrong with the drains, the whole place drinks and they've got a spotlight directed at the TV, when the only reason I came in was to watch the football. Very poor.

Used to be a great place many years ago with a pool table now a dump no food anymore toilets are a disgrace no card payment flat expensive beer never anyone in there any more how it's still going I'll never no.

Great welcoming service, they couldn't have done more for us. Bright well lit spacious venue with friendly helpful staff and great food. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Dirty pub, glasses are unclean, beer is flat more often than not, toilets are dirty, no ales, dark and dreary, music is usually awful and too loud, no atmosphere. Change in hands and investment is needed before it will be worth spending time here.

The last 2 times I've been here they didn't even have draft ale on tap. How this place survives is a genuine mystery. I won't be back.

Staff where friendly. But attending a anniversary party on the ground floor with garden access. However air conditioning unit didn't work! and while eating in the cool air of the garden at 9.40pm staff announces sorry the garden will be closed off at 10pm. Which they didn't inform the hirer's. Not good business.

Good price drinks and a lot of space. With a good outdoor area. The chicken burger I had was nice. Not a bad place for a cheeky drink!

I went down on a Thursday night, only because I had heard good things about the poker and I must say the things I heard were true. I almost left without playing as the poker room can be somewhat hard to find hidden away in the basement as it it. But find it I did and it was worth the effort. The poker is professional run by a husband and wife team and they run it for charity and not for profit so you can earn some good karma while you play. The equipment they use is second to none and not like any pub game I've ever seen and they attract a very good crowd because of it. On the night I went they had Spitfire on tap and it tasted well kept and fresh. Two brilliant members of bar staff keep my glass topped up all night and I didn't even have to leave my seat. The toilets were clean and when I wondered up stairs during the break the clientèle seemed friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be going back.
