Reviews of The Crown Hotel 4*
Clayton Crown Hotel is my home sweet home in London, this is where I always stay, its employees are very friendly and helpful, and our room is always clean and safe for us, it’s close to my favorite restaurants too!
Very nice rooms, staff are lovely and it’s close to everything you need!
Would like to thank the staff for a amazing birthday weekend. So helpfully and full of smiles. They could not do enough for us. The rooms are fantastic value for money and the food was divine 🙌 the full English breakfast was so full of flavour a massive thankyou to the chef 👩🍳 the whole experience was amazing 5 STARS 🌟 ❤❤❤❤❤
Staff were 100% helpful went to a Xmas party there today.
OMG arrived today am STUCK here till Friday and absolutely the worst service I’ve ever seen in all my life of traveling we are stood at the bar now for 30 mins and still awaiting to be served as he rooms are not clean filthy thick with dust I was impressed upon first appearance but my god I feel like it’s just one thing after another and don’t get me started on the plugs in the room talk about the biggest design fault had to get an extension lead to use them …. Whilst writing this yep still not served after a long drive from Ireland all we want is food and bed and looks like no food here KFC next door.
Attended wedding reception there today, held in The Grill. No complaints about the food or the service. All very efficient, and the food was excellent. On the way down to the car park in the basement, I noticed water pouring from the corridor ceiling. Is there a leak?
Lovely and very helpful staff very welcoming. Always love staying here.
Had a blast here when I visited last November. Spent a lot of evenings in the bar with my friends and the bartenders were so friendly and so helpful when it came to fun local things to do! Would recommend 100%
Lovely hotel but worst moito I've ever had. Stay here but don't go near the bar!
Great Location, Friendly Staff, Comfortable Rooms.
Absolutely stunning hotel 5 minutes walk from Cricklewood station and easy access to London Kings Cross. Hotel Restaurant is open and great food as well as great staff. Highly recommend.
Great location to discover London. Leisure facilities and parking. Comfortable 4star rooms.
Super helpful and friendly staff! Perfect parking. Tasty food!
Great night very spacious — warm friendly staff.
I stayed here for business for almost 50 nights price was ok staff and management was excellent. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable… Very peaceful sleep though out my stay… I will differently be booking here again and recommend to my contacts.
Budget friendly, spacious, clean, great breakfast, polite staffs, near transport plus BONUS GRAND PIANO for my son to enjoy. Three times been here.
Lovely clean hotel, great size rooms, nice swimming pool! Bar and food very good, very good for the price, 5min walk from cricklewood train station.
Very good hotel calm and all the staff cooperative.
Nice neighborhood with easy access to transportation and restaurants. They to took at the usage of carpet.
Quiet and clean hotel with lots of shops and restaurants around.
The bathtub used for shower is too small for a big guy like me and the simple fixed browse is not really up to date. No fridge and complementary water. Complementary water is a must have in modern hotel and doesn’t cost the world.
Currently staying here at the moment for my birthday, really dissapointed with the rude staff at concierge.
have asked for a manager to call me last night and still not heard anything.
Great place and friendly staff, just need a bar fridge in the room.
Whilst moderate value for money considering the hotel is only 6.5 miles from Leicester Square, the hotel rooms are somewhat dated, in-particular the shower and toilet Our sink was blocked, the shower you physically cannot get into an appropriate position! Dated design and makes it look and feel a little unhygenic we didn't eat in the hotel so can't pass comment on the catering Roof in main reception area was leaking Not one person of three staff on reception was English, neither was the Manager — 4 staff — not one English — not a problem as such but doesn't feel as welcoming as it could Also two of the reception staff were not familiar with the hotel systems and had to ask for assistance being unable to open the car park barrier Also had problem with key card for room despite having to get it reset twice, it would not allow access into our room.
Nice hotel with big rooms. Cleaning in the rooms requires more attention. Competitive price. 20-30 min with public transport to the city center. The surrounding of the hotel are nothing special. Nothing to see, mostly ethnic restaurants.
Had a very pleasant stay here with my daughter. Close to the tube, but I would say it is more like a good 15 minute walk and not the 10 minutes stated! Attentive staff on reception, very helpful. Dealt with a problem with the safe letting me put my valuables in the hotel safe. Had a good meal in the pub and enjoyed a complimentary drink whilst listening to live music. Only criticism is that the cooked breakfast is not kept hot enough!
Our stay in the Clayton was adequate however it could have been better. The air con in room 144 was broken as the temperature couldn’t be lowered below 25.5 degrees, which was rather uncomfortable considering the temperatures outside. Also there was no cold water from any of the taps. All of water was piping hot, and even when leaving it on for a number of minutes the temperature didn’t get any cooler. The TV in the room was very temperamental. It wouldn’t turn off, had to switch off at the wall, and also it wouldn’t allow you to move back channels or lower the volume without having to turn it off and on again. As I said the hotel served its purpose as a place to sleep, however I doubt I will be returning unfortunately.
Too warm, the air-con was set at 21.07. during warm weather it was too warm. After 2 complaints a manager found me a fan. windows do not open no view (wall outside room) left the room very dark sink did not empty, even after this was reported to reception. the room was very spacious and it was clean and very good value for money. £320 for a family room for 3 nights for room only. also nice friendly staff.
Short trip to London booked, this hotel booked on a recommendation. Hotel is great, staff friendly, right outside the door shops and very important but the bus stop to drive to London in. We didn't book food, just overnight. Rooms large and spacious, clean etc. Only point deduction because our room was seemingly in the basement, direct view of a wall. Nevertheless, I would recommend the hotel to others.
Stayed here with my 8 year old daughter for her birthday. Staff were really friendly and she loved the pool. Great location and easy to get to the tourist spots. We will definitely be staying again.
Ancient building, interesting architecture.
Definitely not worth the price, for a 4 star hotel it lacks a lot things! I was staying with my wife and 3 months old daughter, I was as given a room number 315 that was close to the bar hotel and they were having a party on the first night that I stayed, I find very inconsiderate as I had a baby with me and the music were really loud and the other guests were really noisy too, we couldn't sleep properly! For a 4 star rating the carpets leading to the room were ripped and stick, inside the room wall sockets didn't work properly, curtains were stained, mirror in the bathroom damaged, the room didn't smell nice and was small! On my second night I arrived around 20:00 to park the car and there was a white van blocking the car park entrance that no one knew to whom it belonged to! The front desk people weren't helpful at all, specially when I had my baby daughter crying in the car and I needed to get parked properly so we could feed her! Overall it was an awful experience, I thought I was treating my wife to a nice and relaxed weekend but it quickly turned into a nightmare! Very unsatisfactory and disappointing.
Amazing and inexpensive for the quality of the services, definitely stayin here again when I'm in London.
Great hotel to stay in London. Very good value for money, nice pool for relaxation and impeccable gym. 10 minutes from St Pancras by CrickleWood station which is located 300 meters from the hotel.
Average service, some mishap with the room but everything sorted out. The structure though beautiful, deserves to be a little ' renewed.
We had a really lovely and relaxing stay. The room was really nice, clean, comfortable and quiet and was a really good size. The hotel facilities are great too, especially the pool which we really enjoyed. Room service was fast and really tasty, as was the breakfast Overall a really lovely hotel that is brilliant value for money and one I will definitely be using again!
We really enjoyed our stay at Clayton Crown Hotel. It was easy to get to and from the hotel with different buses. The rooms were nice and clean and staff very service-minded and helpful. The only thing we missed a little bit was a small fridge of some sort to keep beverages cold. We strongly recommend this hotel to everyone!
Good hotel. Room okay. Breakfast for everyone. Is recommended.
Overall, I had an amazing experience at Clayton. When I checked in, the room I had originally booked didn't have a window, which made my heart sink. Your reception kindly found me a different room, which just elevated the experience. The next morning your concierge drove me to the studios down the road and I left my case in the back because I was in a rush. He returned and delivered it without me even asking. I was really impressed and look forward to staying again.
We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel and were very pleased. Very good breakfast with lots of fresh fruit in quaint rooms, a very large and clean room and an always helpful staff which understands problems to solve quickly. We would love to come back!
The location is still in Zone 2 and the bus is just outside the door. When you travel all day in London is perfect.
Clean rooms and a good breakfast. We had rooms on the ground floor that didn't allow us to see outside although there were no windows.
A bit decentrated but very well connected thanks to the coaches and the Metro. Nearby many shops for any need.
Nice Hotel and experience. Poor check in experience this time as information and instructions sent prior check in were not followed or checked with me when making a decision. Was sorted after a very long wait. Improved breakfast experience. Car park a little expensive. Have stayed at hotel annually for many years now.
A hotel in good location with good connection to bus lines and conveniently located shopping. The staff is friendly and helpful. We would like to come back on our next trip to London.
Very recommended. But let's go to the details, the glance at the lobby is great, cozy spacious and clean and the check in operations were quick and friendly. The spacious room clean and quiet, change timely shower towel and relaxing bathtub.
It is not close to the center but about 600 MT passes the subway that takes you anywhere… Here in London.
I preferred the bathtub to the pool.
A good establishment in general. In the Chek in Request room change as the first was in a basement and with enough smell of humidity but the one I got after was correct, spacious and good, although no view as the window faced a wall.
Friendly staff.
Especially the transportation to and from the airport.
Good room service.
Only it is away from central London but well connected.
Beautiful building inside very spacious. A very big function room downstairs and grand staircase. The entrance is a very well done modern piece of architecture against the older building. I especially liked the bar. The area isn't the best but hotel is an oasis from the high street. Parking is tight and limited but secure. Convenient location for London and Wembley.
Short trip to London, booked this hotel due to a recommendation. Hotel is great, staff friendly, right in front of the door shops and very important but the bus stop to drive in to London. We didn't book food, just overnight. Room large and spacious, clean etc. Only point deduction because our room seemed to be in the basement, direct view of a wall. Nevertheless I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
Hotel is recommended. Breakfast includes everything you could wish for. The rooms are clean and tidy. The public transport is very good. 15 minutes to the city.
Impeccable on London and close to the subway. Breakfast at the top.
I enjoyed my stay here. I spent nearly a week and couldn't be happier with the staff and the service they provided. Any issues were taken care of and all questions where answered with a smile. Quite a nice place to stay and will be sure to return.
This hotel is an absolute gem. I have always stayed in central London at high end hotels. Chose to stay here at the Clayton because a very close friend lives a short walk. Wow was I impressed! Where to start? Staff, absolutely fantastic! Room. Fantastic. Bed was very comfortable! Large bathroom modern shower and remodeled. And built into a 200 year old pub! Awesome all over. And a quick £12-15 Uber ride into Soho and Mayfair. Sold. This is my new spot. Don't hesitate.
Overall 5 stars! Loved the food & Pub spaces, really comfortable. Staff was all nice and upbeat. Only criticism was the bar seemed understaffed many times while we stayed for the week. Weekends seemed they were able to manage better, a lot more people seemed to be available. Room 401 was amazing, great city views, large room & bathroom. My husband and I have always stayed more central London and our friend who lives a few blocks away from the hotel recommended to us this hotel. We have decided to come back on our next trips. We come to London once or more a year & it’s only an uber around to where we want to go, so for the value it’s great! Coming from a tourist town myself Monterey, California, I know quality hotels and value. Cheers!
Attended Annual Dinner & Dance here. Food was delicious, service was fast and organised. Tables cleared fast. Great choice of venue. Great that guests can book rooms to stay over afterwards! Thank you Clayton Crown Hotel.
Nice city hotel in London.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet could be a bit more varied (different types of sausage and cheese) The pool is impractical to reach as you have to walk through the entire lobby.
After showering it is hard to get out of the bathtub as it is very deep.
A very good, attractively priced hotel. Ideal as a starting point for a London sightseeing. Convenient transport connections. Staff very very nice and accommodating. We weren't here for the last time.
Hotel is above the local standard. Unfortunately, the heating of the bath room is saved. In gym, 2 devices are defective.
Great hotel. I would stay there again. Very friendly staff.
All shops nearby, bus and metro stations also, good restaurant and charming rooms, the reception and the service are friendly and efficient.
I only know the pool, where my grandson is learning to swim, but he's in London.
Pleasant. Shops nearby. I'll advise you.
The reception should have a minimum of languages since in a hotel is something essential to be able to communicate with the clients.
Great room and good breakfast. Not central but very well connected with both the bus and the Metro. Great value for money.
To be that it is located in Zone 3, there are many means of transport to move everywhere. The hotel is very clean with excellent bedding and very friendly staff. The only counter I found is that the room does not have a minibar or cooler to keep a fresh drink. A curious detail is that the hair dryer is not in the bathroom but in a drawer of the dresser in the room. A little cumbersome to dry your hair.
Place in accordance with the descriptions. Is closer to a three-star French. Bus stop right outside the hotel. 30mn from Oxford Street by bus. Another advantage is the hotel is 2mn walk from Cricklewood station which leads directly to Luton airport in 35 mn. Popular area with shops and fast food. Ideal hotel for a stay in London.
My Partner and myself have travelled widely over the past few decades. However, this hotel, was special and worthy of a review. The room was perfectly lovely, clean, adequate and comfortable, with one of the longest bathrooms we have ever seen (403). The hotel itself, was very clean, with lovely friendly staff. We only ate the inclusive breakfast, as we were out the previous evening, but it was really nice, and the bacon was something extra special. Good quality, back bacon, perfectly cooked. The pool is wonderful, so warm, it could be a jacuzzi or spa. We spent many happy hours in the late afternoon, swimming and relaxing in it, and again from 7am for a couple of hours. When we return to London, it will be our first choice for accommodation. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Very good value for money Hotel.
I had requested and chosen from about 2 months the last floor non smoking room. Unfortunately at the time check-in I had not booked the requested room.
Came to London for a short break and to do a bit of shopping before Christmas. Hotel was spotlessly clean, staff were courteous and helpful throughout. Didn't have a chance to use the pool but the rest of the facilities were spot on. Bed was lovely and comfortable, room was good and the hotel is a five minute walk away from the station so very easy to get into central London. Nice restaurant but if you fancy going out there are plenty of other places to eat around about. Will definitely be going back again.
Nice 4 star Hotel. The breakfast is full cooked or continental and very nice. Rooms are big. Cricklewood has good travel connections via Tube, Thameslink and Bus It is near Brent Cross shopping centre. It also has plenty of local shops & takeaways.
My partner and I stayed at The Clayton Crown Hotel for 3 nights and we had a really lovely and relaxing stay.
Very pleasant overnight stay with the wife. Room was large, with a small window which looked much bigger thanks to a cleverly placed mirror, quite pleasant. Was relatively clean, limescale on the shower head, slight black spots on the grout and the ironing board was broken (didn't ask to have a replacement, sure they'd have obliged though). Overall standard were good though, comfy bed blackout blinds and quiet. Would recommend.
2 rooms get, both without working windows. Beds are very comfortable.
Really enjoyed our stay, rooms, food, facilities are great! Nice clean hotel. Only down fall took a card check fee payment on my card prior my visit and still has not went back in which was included in my holiday cash. Other than that could not fault.
The staff here are fantastic and make the hotel what it is. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you would expect. It would be nice if you could pay for room service by card, which with 4G card payment these days would be fairly simple. The only flaw is that the TV reception is awful, I have stayed three or four times this year, and the TV never works — several channels are pixelated or not received at all. I would suggest the reception system needs servicing. Other than the TV, an excellent hotel.
We had our wedding ceremony & reception at The Crown in July this year. We had a fantastic day from the moment I arrived in the wedding car I was helped inside as sadly it was raining but the staff were on hand with umbrellas. There was someone on hand all day right up until 2am when we finished up. The food was fantastic and everyone was amazed how wonderful it was considering how many people we had our wedding the service nor the food could be faulted at all. Alot of our family and friends took up the offet of special room rate and all enjoyed their stay especially the breakfast, we didnt make breakfast as was so tired but would recommend anyone looking for a venue to pick The Crown, Cricklewood. A massive thank you to all the staff that helped myself and my new Husbands day special.
On checkout I tried to explain that you had already charged my card and were attempting full payment again. However I needed to leave for the airport so I just made the payment. I emailed immediately afterwards advising of the double charge and have not heard anything back. I would appreciate if you could resolve this asap. Update — I've tried following up twice since the below response and I am still not receiving any communication from the hotel in return.
Great service clean and relaxing with gym and a small swimming pool. Good public transport links if you are not driving as car parking underneath is limited and costs 15.00 a night. Amazing breakfast and built in Chinese restaurant and bar.
The rooms are very clean and the staff are very friendly. Well served by public transport and the subway. If you want a hotel to spend your holidays in London, the Clayton is definitely the right one, even for the really affordable value for money. Everything is perfect.
Nice hotel attached to a Victorian era pub. The pub has a nice ambience, a wide range of drinks and excellent food. I have only used the hotel for meetings and found it clean and welcoming. Staff go out of their wayto help customers. There is plenty of seating space and a swimming pool for guests. Cricklewood Thames Link station is a few minutes away and buses to central London stop directly outside the hotel.
Excellent, well-groomed rooms, clean, structure with internal facilities: swimming pool, gym. Very competitive price.
Excellent in everything, quality, price and service. I'il be back.
A great place to stay! Staff and duty manager very efficient and helpful. The girl who cleaned our room kept it immaculate… lovely large room! Air con was brilliant as I like a very cool room. Had a great stay in the Clayton Crown and would recommend it to anyone. The bus stop was right outside the hotel and bused took you into the centre of London.
It was a very good stay at the hotel, specially the availability of the staff in the reception. Breakfast was OK but it could offer a wider variety of pastry and bread. The room on the upper floor was very good and spacious but the windows allow a lot of noise from the street. Easy to go to the center due to the amount of buses available. In an overall opinion we all did like to stay at the Crown and we for sure will recommend the hotel.
On Arrival I did have to wait for over an hour and a half to be allocated my room. The staff did take my luggage to the room which was nice. The breakfast service a bit on the slow side but this is a fresh plated cooked breakfast so will take some time. The continental selection was nice and fresh and the toaster actually toasts and not warms the bread. Black and white pudding is also a nice change. The bar prices are reasonable but we did stay in the bar as the lounge area adjacent to the hotel lobby does charge more than the bar area. The room was spacious and the bedding comfy but we did only have one set of towels for a couple so had to ask for more. The car park is very tight very tight indeed but the cost for that is reasonable too. The walk to the tube is a good walk so would advise the bus down. All in All was a pleasant stay with attentive staff and would use again.
Stopped there, coming to London. Location The room was very clean. The room was very clean and very clean. The breakfast was very close to the hotel, but it was also very nice. The café is a huge number. There's a very large number of shops in the vicinity where cheap and good food is sold. There are many Arabs and Africans in this area, but they behave very quietly and politely. The nearest subway station is going to take about five minutes on the bus if it's about 20 minutes on foot. Highly recommended for habitation in London.
The rooms are as per the pictures on their website. They are very clean and beds are nice & comfortable. Toiletries are replenished each day and service personnel at the hotel are very nice and helpful. The Breakfast is FANTASTIC. It has a really great spread and certainly something to look forward to every morning. My family & I give this hotel top marks in terms of service, food and accommodation. We recommend it highly. Though it's not in the city center, it is so convenient to go to town via a short bus ride to the tube station or directly to Oxford. No problem at all! We will definitely stay at Clayton again the next time we visit. Thank you Clayton Crown & to every single one of your lovely staff — Well done!
I stayed in the Clayton Crown Hotel in Cricklewood and was very impressed with the. Hotel and hotel staff.
I attended a family wedding and the food was excellent both for the wedding and for breakfast.
The staff in reception were very helpful and friendly as were all the staff throughout the hotel.
I had a wonderful experience overall and would definitely recommend it.
We had lunch in the bar and it was not as good as the wedding breakfast.
It was served nicely but it was a bit cold.
So chef take this on board as generally we had a wonderful experience overall.
Good bar, planning event and the staff are welcoming, informative, helpful and efficient. The building is nice too.
Very cean. Nice workers. Far from tube but bus stop right n front. Good restaurants but very slow service for food.
We have stayed many times at this hotel in the last 8 years. It is near to the M1, easy to find, has parking and is a lovely place to stay. Buses to Kilburn tube stop outside the door, or you can stay on one that takes you right to Oxford Street. The building is a seamless blend of old and new and the rooms we have stayed in are spacious and warm.
We thought this establishment very good. The room was clean and comfortable. The persons who work are very kind, they are able to answer or solve quesoins. We stayed there 4 days and we found satisfaction. The breakfast was perfect. We enjoyed to be there.
I went for a coffee. It was good with friendly service.
We normally stay with out Middle Easten guests here. The hotel is perfect, large size with a pool, both contemporary and historical (joined by glass to a old English pub! ) Down sides are the "difficult to park" parking garage that cost £20 a night! All in all we prefer to have our guess here due to its accessibility to local middle Easten communities and to the M1.
I was put in room 211 on the ground floor. Was generally pleased with my room as it was a good size, very comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was in a good state. My colleagues' rooms were not to the same standard as they had mould around the bath and this needed regrouting and the the silicone replacing. I hotel was extremely noisy at night and I did not sleep well. There were lots of doors banging and other guests being noisy on the corridors. This could be improved with better sound insulation and some polite notices in corridors. The gym is ok and I have seen better in other hotels. I was disappointed to learn that it did not open until 7am as most open at 6am. This time could be changed to make it better accessible for business guests who have to be at early meetings.
This is my fourth time in this hotel. If you stay in the Northwest of London, this is a lovely hotel. This new year's Eve party, you won't be disappointed. We spent the night here, rooms very nice and bed very comfortable. Breakfast is included in the room rate, species richness. I definitely will come again, lovely, staff very good, service was great.
Rooms were clean, staff were very responsive and helpful :)
Loved it the staff was very friendly The beds very comfortable really Great atmosphere the food was Excellent very good place to stay Would stay again.
Excellent room, Wi-Fi very good and free, friendly staff and overall a really good hotel.
Stayed there on vacation for a little over a week. The area wasn't fantastic but, the hotel was pretty good (a little over 4 stars). Didn't like not having a window in our room, there was a fluorescent light that simulated sunlight… the room safe didn't work (the batteries that worked the power lock on the safe had corroded). I felt like I needed to take a shower after entering the pub, smothered by cigarette odor. Those were literally my only complaints. Rooms were spotless, tea service, hair dryer etc. In room, bathrooms were fantastic, front desk was great with help as well. The area itself was bordering on sketchy but, everyone was nice for the most part. Great local restaurants, fantastic fish and chip shop and tube service was minutes away… Solid place to stay! Would likely stay again…
Great pub with plenty of room on those Friday after-work gatherings. Have had some fantastic evenings here over the years.
Nice rooms with a cool pub.
Excellent hotel… big clean rooms… love it so much! The staff is very friendly and kind… amazing people! Such an amazing hotel and I don't know the reason they don't have refrigerators in their room! But even though that, I am looking forward to visiting London and of couse your hotel again! And for everyone interested in this hotel transportation using jubille line is very easy! Regards from Greece…!
Very clean big rooms, friendly staff, convenient bar and pub, worth every penny! Highly recommended.
Nice room very warm good meal at the hotel pub.
Lovely, very clean, conformable and close to many stations and facilities.
As "Father of the Bride", spent two nights here last weekend as part of a wedding party. Cannot speak too highly as to the helpful staff in every department we came across. The Duty Manager Conran was an absolute star arranging things for us, especially when we were let down by a car company for the bridesmaids. One of our party was in a wheelchair and they looked after her wonderfully. I've stayed in a few hotels in my life, but seldom have I come across this level of care. Thank you to you all.
Well, this is a little jewel in a vibrant area of Cricklewood. Close to many transport links to the central London and the hipster areas of camden and and kentish town and the lovely hampstead heath. The staff are nice and the atmosphere is mellow, especially good after a day/night out in town. And yeah, they have an indoors swimming pool.
