Everything was very charming and great atmosphere plus cocktails lovely.

People often spend their time just to write complaints, but would be correct express at the same time, also good feedback when needed.
The Black Lion is an Amazing venue with great music and atmosphere that's why I use to recommend to our friends and collegues, especially for one person that is working there (Roko) which is an add value to this place! Since the start I always think He was the owner, because living in London since 8 years, never seen an accurate, professional, fast, kind, good manners person like Him. He takes care about everything managing every situation also if the pubs is busy or short staffed offering a first class customer service. (My friends and colleguese were impressed too).
I recommend this pub to everyone!

Horrendous! Came back to our room after a long day in work to find all of our belongings had gone. After half an hour of the manager searching for our clothes they were found in another room dumped on a bed. No consent was given for our belongings to be touched. After this we were looking for a socket to charge our phones, when pulling the bed there was a rat just about alive behind it on a tray of rat poison. This place is disgusting and terribly run.

Ate in the restaurant, meal was beautiful I had the lamb, the burgers where huge and tasty.
Service quick, staff friendly.

Had a wonderful xmas day dinner today. All went sailing well. Could not recomend any more. Friendly staff and manager. Would come again.

There are a good amount of pros and cons with the Black Lion. Pros: 1. Short walk to overground and underground. 2. Room was clean. 3. Accessibility to food and drink. 4. Economicical Cons: 1. Noise from pub below. (kegs being delivered, glass bottles being discarded after pub close, and shouting, ect…) 2. Section of Kilburn seems a bit sketchy and dirty. 3. Above a pub and smoke from patio makes it's way into the room. 4. Have to walk through the pub patio to get to the B&B entrance. Overall, this is a decent place to stay if you are on a budget and only need the bare minimum in accommodations. I just wish there was a more thoughtful approach taken to the entrance so I am not required to walk through smoke, people and pint glasses.

The Black Lion is the gem of Kilburn. It’s a gorgeous old fashioned bar and hotel that’s cosy in winter and airy in summer. Everyone is welcome here and the clientele is diverse and the vibe chilled. The food is good and the drinks are always good quality (wine, beer, spirits). The staff are friendly and welcoming and skilled at making very yummy cocktails. But! If you want the best cocktail ask Maya to make it. She is the Queen! We spent a very merry New Year’s Eve drinking Passionate Kisses and Maya is the expert. This place is our favourite London bar. Great customer service!

I had done a good review of this place in Google with five stars three months ago, but I'm afraid I have to change it. I went with two female friends to watch a football match and the staff was not able to deal with a racist, sexist customer who was harrassing us. We were asked by some of the staff to ignore the racist sexist man, instead of them dealing with him in the right way from the beginning. Neither me nor my friends are going back because of this. It is a shame.

Can't go wrong with the Black Lion. Huge boozer on the Kilburn high road. Good beer but unfortunately the fish and chips I had wasn't the best. However, I'm putting this down as a one off and will try the food again when next in Kilburn.

Cozy Pub. I Got here when football fans rested here. The Atmosphere is magical!

I went on a Friday night. There's loads of room so it didn't feel too packed. The beer and food selection is pretty standard. 10/10 for the ceiling. Probably the best pub ceiling in England.

Simple bed, no breakfast. Rooms are clean, big enough and comfortable. The beds are quite small, I guess they would be less comfortable if you are tall. Good price/value. Very well accessible from centre of London with public transport, interesting neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and bars. The black lion bar is also worth a visit, very big cocktail menu and a good Sunday roast.

Big pub with a warm atmosphere and plenty of space. The kind of place you go to if you want to actually be able to hear the people you're going with. Food and drink doesn't really separate this place apart from any other pub and the prices are about average. But the space available and the lack of crowding makes this a lovely pub to socialise in.

Beer — 0/5 No cask ale! Interior — 4/5 Gorgeous heritage interior. Questionable choice of contemporary wallpaper in the dining room and snug which contrasts jarringly with the original panelling and decorative plasterwork. The sole remaining partition screen has at some point been modified with a varnished plywood opening. Ambience — 4/5 Lovely, cosy and welcoming.

Cozy pub, with a good range of beers and cocktails. 5 minutes walk from Kilburn underground station (Jubilee line). We had a very good dinner. Food was excellent as well as the service. We had a burger which was massive and delicious, and lamb with an amazing mouth watering cream. The restaurant section is beautiful but a little cold, the rest of the pub is cool. I only tried this place for the beers, after yesterday I will definitely go back for its food as well.

Booked tickets to see a band, missed them. The bar staff had no idea what they were doing. Sat around for hours waiting for somebody to turn up to check us in when they turned up they kept us waiting. All our planning to get there on time was pointless, we said the time we'd be checking in on the booking. Never staying here again, terrible place, had a cocktail menu up and didn't even sell them because nobody had been trained to make them. Lovely.

Great value for money! Room was pleasant enough, however the TVs need updating as they are too small for the size of the rooms. Food in the pub was very nice, however we were disappointed to discover that the advertised deal of 2 for 1 cocktails was actually an old offer from the previous management and hadn't been removed from the booklet in the room.

Unfortunately, despite booking, there was no breakfast. The bathroom was very moldy and too small for 4 people. The friendliness of the staff at the reception is to be improved. Pub was great.

Room a great value for money. Location is great for the city with Rail, Underground and Bus services on the doorstep. The Bar is fantastic with a really cool atmosphere and great choice of drinks. The food is great with discount for hotel users. Staff were all very helpful.

Arrived from Australia and realized our error in booking the dates for a room. Staff were very unhelpful and would not refund or change dates. White wine was warm. And had shit choice of alcohol.

One of the best pub ever! Great atmosphere, delicious beers, gins and whisky with huge variety. Perfect music, in terms of choice and sound. Perfect place for a calm and relaxed beer with friends. The staff is great, kind and efficient! One suggestion, grab four or five friends and have a drink on the couch next to the fire place! You won't regret! Oh I was forgetting the location… what a nice place with perfect set of light and what a ceiling! Best place at least in Kilburn!

I have lived in Kilburn and have been going to the Black Lion regularly for the last 7 years and have never been disappointed by the service or the food. I have a feeling that the negative review below only tells part of the story. Never ever have I been treated badly by Maya or any other members of staff, who have served my friends and I in different establishments in the area for a while. Disregard the review.

Fantastic pub. A pity they only have two cask pumps though, and none of them were on when we were there. Open fire by the chesterfield sofas and overall outstanding atmosphere compensate for that though.

Needed, at short notice, a place where a large group of friends could meet, eat and talk. This fitted the bill. The food was good, staff excellent and our company satisfied.

A bar with great character. Drinks were good and the staff was awesome. Didn't have the food. Staff was It was a bit warm inside but not so much that it detracted from the charm or relaxing atmosphere.

No big luxury, but everything you need is there. Bus stop in front. Tube only minutes walk away. Stunning pub, with great food! Friendly staff. Breakfast is not much but will do.

Lovely, friendly pub which is a firm favourite for me and friends. Delightful interior (has to be seen! ), nice wines and great food in bar or elegant restaurant area. Big leather sofas, open fires in Winter.

The staff are fabulous and the food in the restaurant delicious! I believe all (most? ) of the staff are Italian so they're good fun. I had the tomato mozzarella starter and was instantly impressed by it's presentation (not the normal alternating slices). Very fresh and seasonal tomatoes so very tasty. For main I had lamb and asparagus. Again, in season produce, just as the Italians would. My boyfriend's steak, chips and onion rings looked immense though so they've not abandoned their pub roots.

There is not much to say about this pub, if not a single thing. If you want to drink a glass in a pub by the beautiful atmosphere in the area of the NW, this is the right place. The furniture is beautiful and seems to dive in a real Victorian Pub the old style. The beer selection is not overwhelming but decent (it happened to me to find the beloved East Coast IPA). And so to the wines and The spirits from the affordable price. And in most of The usual plus that you would expect from an English pub: the Monday burgers 2x1, Tuesday quiz night, and still jazz nights and dj's…
Of course there is also restaurant space and, for those who want to stay, the place is also a guesthouse with 14 rooms. In short, something precious in the heart of Kilburn.

Lovely place to have a drink and a bite to eat. The bar area had comfy seats and a live jazz band were playing whilst we had a pre dinner drink. Once in the restaurant we received excellent service and my food was delicious.

I think this pub is one of the most Beautifull spots in Kilburn. Friendly and amazing professional staff. All the team work really hard to give the best customer service experience ever.

The Black Lion has very striking decor — very ornate and impressive as you walk in. You'd expect this type of pub to be bathed in darkness, but instead the large windows let light pour in and it's very pleasant on a sunny day. We went for the Tuesday pub quiz which was fun and pitched at a good level — not easy but not ridiculously hard. My only gripes are that as a vegan the menu offered very little in the way of food, with no vegan-friendly mains, and it would be nice to see a few craft beers from London breweries on keg. Worth a visit if you're in the area, or coming for the quiz!

So nice looking pub, waiters kind and cool, very good at guiding you through the discovery of english beers. Go for happy hour (5 to 7) and for the special live jazz night every wednesday! And staff is totally pro for any demand in the guest house part, with cute rooms, high top roof and windows. A little bit noisy for sleeping but that's the city life, and i'm used to country yard quietness :)

Very beautifuly decorated and cosy place! Service was really great. Rooms were very basic but met all our needs. The food at the restaurant was 5 star! One of the best meals I've had in London! Will definitely go back!

The Sunday roasts are out of this world. Get the beef and you won't be sorry. The staff are similarly excellent. Vado in the kitchen is as friendly as he is a genius with the food! The best pub in NW6!

Welcome to the institution of the British pub (decoration wise) : spacious, heavy furniture, fireplace (sort of) and a star attraction, an amazing ceiling! I only had drinks, but it seems the menu is tapas, not what you usually find on a pub. Worth checking out for the awesomeness of it.

I am sorry to say The Black Lion disappointed. The range of beer is limited — nothing really of interest at all and only 2 beers on tap (Guinness and a larger). They have an wide and interesting range of Gin and Whiskey but they were let down by the fact they use postmix tonic in their G&T. The roast had great gravy and a good yorkie but my pork belly was just a block of fat with very little meat.

Absolutely gorgeous pub. Shame it is badly managed. Took us almost 10 mins to get served while the barstaff was happily chatting away to one of her Italian friends while nibbling away at some cold take away food she had left in plain sight behind the bar. Decided to try some cocktails since the draft selection was virtually non existant. The Fireplace sour which was advertised as containing fresh pineapple, came from a juice carton box. The bosten shaker looked pretty full to me, yet all I got was a miniscule rox glass with the rest of the cocktail probably being rinsed down the sink. Thanks Black Lion, I will go to the Priory Tavern next time or even Betsy Smith is better.

A lady at the windmill (sister hotel) stated £70 for 1 night b&b. £35 taken from our company account before arrival, so theoretically, another £35 taken from our employee on leaving. (50% split said by the woman) When leaving he was charged a full £75 on leaving — not the price agreed, leaving an overcharge of £40. When called to discuss, a man at the black lion said the woman at the windmill didn't mean £70 but £75!? I don't think so, I know what I was told and my bank statement doesn't lie. To cut a long discussion short, only offered £35 back, not the £40 owed. Very poor service from both parts, if they knew what they were doing, my employee would have been charged properly. All the drama over £5, yet they don't think about the act of upholding their word which would make me go back for repeat custom for our employees on business trips. Needless to say, will not book again from now on.

Ordered Tapas for the 4 of us outside on the seating provided. We had the fish goujons, prawns, chick pea, buchetta, calamari and mozzarella. The menu states that the food is freshly prepared on the premises and it didn't disappoint. Truly authentic food which came as a pleasant surprise for somewhere on kilburn high road. So if you're looking for a local place that served quality food then look no further.

Nice pub, it looks really good. Some offers to grab 2 cocktails at the price of one. If he look at the quality of the furniture and decor of the place this is one of the best pubs I've been to. I've been quite late so it was particularly quiet, really nice.
