Clean room, friendly staff, large variety at breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Awful experience backed up by utterly appalling customer care. My daughter and I stayed in room 1, immediately opposite the reception desk, on a Saturday night. First impressions were good; the room was large and airy, and appeared comfortable. Things took a turn for the worse when it came to actually sleeping though. The large gap under the door meant we could hear every movement in the hallway, and no doubt vice versa. The curtain didn’t close properly, and the alignment of the gap and the street light was such that the light shone directly on to the pillow on the main bed. After a few hours of broken sleep, we were woken at around 6.30/7am by the sound of people walking through the main door. Any chance we may have had of getting back to sleep was then scuppered by the constant thudding on the floor above. I was later told this was the child of a guest, running across the floor. Breakfast was, at best, poor. Cheap sausages, insipid microwaved bacon, and watery scrambled eggs. It is telling that the first thing we did upon checking out, was go for breakfast elsewhere.
I raised my complaints with the encumbent consierge, who did not apologise, but made excises about light pollution and inconsiderate guests, rather than acknowledge the faulty curtain, poorly hung door and lack of sound insulation. He advised that I would need to speak to a manager, but none was available until Wednesday. I left my contact information and asked for a call when they returned.

Stayed at Balham Lodge several times before. Rooms are very comfortable (even if the ensuites are not large) and breakfast is excellent — well prepared and plentiful.

Absolutely lovely place! The room was amazing and really big.

We stayed here on the 18th — 19th November 2017 and it was a beautiful stay. The receptionists were nice and helpful, the gentle man on night duty organised a taxi for us the next day. The room is spacious, neat and well decorated. Breakfast was good and the ladies were nice expect for one old lady who made it obvious she got a problem with other skins, otherwise will definitely stay here again.

Comfortable and friendly Hotel. There is a bit of variability in the shape and size of the rooms: there are large and other narrower and uncomfortable (L-shaped that leaves the beds apart and makes it difficult to see the television).
The bathroom in my room was without heating, but in the other friends room there was the radiator and it was very hot.

Some rooms are too small, but otherwise you can not ask for more from this little establishment on Bedford hill. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated, and well maintained. And they are very quiet despite the hotel location on a relatively busy road. The breakfast is nice and rich for a lodge. The staff is polite and helpful.

I found the staff very kind and helpful. The room was good… Had all that I needed. Tea, coffee, etc. TV in the room. A very pleasant stay.

Nice house with a comfortable room, but really small bathroom. Be prepared to go up to the room through some stairs carrying your luggage. Free breakfast doesn't have lots of options, but it's ok. As a guest house, if you plan to arrive or leave during the night, let the host know. It's not so close to the train/tube station, but you can walk or get a bus easily. Don't forget to buy your Oyster card for zone 3.

Great rooms. A bit hot and the fans they provide aren't great. Besides that the rooms are clean and the location is decent!

Very lovely englisch Guest House. Very Clean and cosy rooms. Good breakfast. Great Price. Close to London Downtown. I would always recommend the place. We have stayed there 3 times already. Love the place.

A delightful B&B that was ideal for SW4 festival! Rooms and house was stunning, and was great value for money.

One of the best places to stay in London, I had a wonderful time, and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Only four stops between Balham and Victoria Railway Stations if you go by National Rail. Good Internet and telephone service and costs were quite reasonable. Also, the alternative taxi service was good and very well priced.

Beautiful place with lovely English style.

A stone's throw to everything you need in a town ranging from Post Office, eateries, shopping, leisure, library to transport.
