Awful place they should be truly disappointed with themselves. No way is this place a 4*. I booked for mothers day just gone march 2015. The reception staff was rude and didn't look at me while I was checking in, she asked for my credit card and didn't explain what she wanted it for then said ive only "Pre Auth'd it" just in case I damage anything or I use the mini bar. Cheeky mare Im 38 and I don't have a habit of breaking anything. We went to our room which was in the basement and as dark as a hell hole. We opened the door and we was so disappointed it was un true. I had booked a triple room as my niece was with us as well. The room was not big enough for the single bed that was shoved in the corner which was blocking the entrance to the wardrobe and the mini bar, the duvet on the supposed king size bed was a double duvet which was too small for the actual 2 single beds that were pushed together. So both mum and I were cold during the night. There was damp all over the walls and ceiling, there was 2 broken plugs in the room which my niece didn't see and cut her hand as most of the plastic surround that was protecting the wires was missing, the window was jammed so we couldn't shut it, we over looked the fire escape and staff entrance which was awful. I had paid for 3 people to stop but there was only tea / coffee for 2 people, 2 cups 2 glasses, 2 set of towels, 2 sets of bath products. There was no room to move around the bedroom. We went for breakfast in the morning and we were offered toast and a cold boiled egg, it was supposed to be a continental breakfast there was no fruit, yogurt, choice of cereals, choice of pastries except when asked we were given 3 of the smallest croissants ever seen. My niece ask for a glass of orange juice and she was tutted at. There was no refills on hot drinks and the staff were extremely rude. When checking out we came up the stairs from the basement and there was a stair that not only had the carpet had come away but you could see right through to all the wires and stuff below the stairs, it was very dangerous as it moved a lot when you stood on it. I handed my key back and the reception girl didn't even look at me or ask me if I had a nice time, I then said you took a pre auth from my card yday for £20 can you confirm this has been cancelled as I haven't had anything from the mini bar and I was told that if everything was ok it would be cancelled but she would have to check. There was 4 bottles of water, 8 cans of soft drink, 3 chocolate bars and 2 packs of crisps so hardly a mini bar.
