Toilets are so small that you can't use your towel in it with the doors closed! A run down feel to the rooms. Wooden floor boards are giving way and uneven. How this is 3 stars is beyond me. I would struggle to give it 2

The hotel was okay, nothing special but for the price and location I would recommend it to others. One warning, the bed is HARD, not firm, HARD… like sleeping on the floor hard. The lady working the reception desk during the day was pleasant enough. A map of the area would have been nice. We got lost the first day when we went out to explore the area while our room was prepared. Ended up getting an area map from another hotel. Be advised, the hotel is on Leinster Square, but there's also a Leinster Terrace and a Leinster Garden in the same area.

Had a wonderful stay at the Royale Chulan! Fantastic front desk staff, great location, and a perfect room. The room was almost spotlessly clean and so comfortable. The small kitchenette was everything I needed for a good stay in London. The Wi-Fi could've been better, as I was on the third floor and had spotty reception but it didn't ruin my stay. As a solo traveler, I felt very safe in the location and enjoyed the proximity to two tube stations. Good food options in the area. I would gladly return to the Royale Chulan!

In the part of Hollander Park the hotel is small but clean
You are in central London and you can move quickly from all sides.

We were very happy with the room. Of course, the rooms are not exactly large, but you know that as a tourist when you come to London. We hadn't booked breakfast in the first place because there were so many options in the side streets and Tesco was also just around the corner. The hotel is very centrally located and you can stay in a maximum of 30 minutes at many popular attractions of London. We were very happy with the hotel because we really only enjoyed it for sleeping. A big thank you to the staff.

The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of London close to 2 metro stations. Several buses also pass including the 148 which serves Victoria. The area is very nice and quiet.
We had an "apartment downstairs. Rather quiet but little daylight. Correct size, clean.
It is difficult to say that it is equipped with a kitchenette… A plate, a fridge and that's it. Two plates, two small pans… even no corkscrews or bottle openers, no microwave… Impossible or almost to do would be what a little basic kitchen… This argument is purely attractive, it is clear that management does not want its customers to cook!

Air conditioning very noisy. Very powerful fan noise (heat pump? ). Tiny room, impossible to get to the foot of the bed. The right side against the window. Forced to step over to go to bed. Very cramped bathroom. Forced to open the door to have the place to brush the teeth in front of the sink. Very friendly and helpful staff. Interesting location near Hyde Park. Very small self-service breakfast in a room that must be an old room, far too small for the number of guests who have to wait for a place to free itself.

Very good value for money, great location.

Very helpful staff, the bed was comfortable and the hotel is very well placed (5min from a metro station). Small black spot however for soundproofing which is very bad. You can hear the other hotel guests in their room.

I'm sorry that I can find nothing negative to say about my stay at The Royale Chulan. The beds are firm, just the way I like them (great nights sleep), no matter how much I bugged the staff with questions they were always willing to help and with a smile. I am traveling by myself and the size of the room was just right for me (I was only in it at night to sleep and give my tired legs a rest). Only about 5 min. To Notting Hill tube one way and the same to Queensway tube the other. You can get to everywhere from here. I recommend this hotel and will book again. Thanks staff for a very pleasant stay in England (now about that snow storm).

Very unhelpful staff, wouldn't book a taxi, a transfer or tour for us. Room was freezing, bathroom was tiny, breakfast was terrible especially for the price. You could pay less down the road for a full cooked breakfast. Near some nice pubs, small shops and teo underground stations. They don't supply tissues, face washers, hair dryers or extra blankets. Even when you ask. Was a bit disappointed…

Correct. The room is small and the shower room very small.

The rooms are small but very very clean.
The street is noisy in the evening (passing cars) and the room is poorly soundproof.
The small kitchenette is nice it allows to have breakfast before you go to visit London.
Located in a quiet and chic area next to the Kensington Palace.

Good location. Within walking distance of Bayswater tube stations (circle line and district line) and Queensway (central line). Very quiet neighborhood with supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops, exchange houses. Room very small but with very comfortable bed. Good cleanliness. The staff was friendly and quite available.

At least they allowed me to check out a little later to make up for the microwave which I didn't get On the negative side, I requested, confirmed and was promised a microwave, which I never received. I had a double room, but it barely had room to swing a cat — my suspicion is there was actually no room for the microwave. The bed was the hardest I've ever slept on, and the shower tiny. Although there's a wardrobe, it had no shelves (except to cater for a suitcase at the top), but fortunately, there was a drawer under the bed. Vile smell coming from the kitchenette sink, which was never attended to, although I reported it. Most of the staff were helpful, but I wouldn't call them friendly.

Bed: Rock hard, only 1 duvet bathroom: very small but clean top breakfast: sufficient but without sausage and just toast no other bread.
Room General: Window leaking it pulls in.
We were given a slightly better room on the ground floor on request at no extra charge. Recommended, however, with extra charge or from the outset the rooms that book a little extra cost if you would like to have room for movement.
It's just fine to sleep. Would still not recommend it to anyone.

Small but decent room provided you are not in the basement where the rooms are ridiculous. Large and comfortable bedding but the sheets are not suitable and can not be lined… Breakfast is in a small room converted into a dining room with 4 small tables. Sometimes you have to wait for the seats to become available. Simple continental breakfast; cereals, yoghurt, bread, eggs, cheddar, tea, chocolate powder. Friendly welcome.

Location was great but breakfast was sub-par. Only 4 breakfast tables for the whole hotel and selection was very narrow. Air conditioning in our room was stuck at 30 degrees C for the entirety of our stay too which was unpleasant.

Well, quiet and comfortable. Good location. It has a mini kitchen but with almost no accessories, but to warm up an envelope coffee or a tea has enough. The fridge is going very well. Good heating even though it makes noise.
All in all, happy.

Nice room and comfortable bed, although I found that the bathroom was very tiny, but everything was proper cleaned, so congratulations for the housekeeping staff, they deserve a pay rise. Location is perfect, just in the heart of Bayswater Borough, close to Queensway and Bayswater Station which is just 5 minutes walking. Price when I booked was good, it’s a Malaysian company, so they really care about the quality of your stay. The Breakfast is the continental one, but you get the full English breakfast nearby easily.

Stained carpeting. Funny smell in the bathroom. Spiders in the room. At least the location is quiet.

Beds are a hard as a rock and staff are grumpy. It might be relatively cheap for central London but I still wouldn't stay here again.

A decent hotel.
Especially suitable for very active tourists.
The hotel is located in the best long distance to any public transport and nearby there is a wide range of different restaurants and pubs which are consistently very good.
Nearby there is also a shopping mall and several supermarkets as well as secondhand shops.

Although very well located, close to Notting Hill and Hyde Park, one step from two metro stations (Bayswater and Queensway) and in a quiet area, some of the reception staff leave a lot to be desired.
We booked 2 rooms from Madrid and upon arrival, we were located directly in the basement. We protested and moved one of the rooms, but the other didn't.
In the four days we were not removed or the trash. We had to ask for a set of towels and they didn't take the dirty. Between the bathroom was a ridiculous size, over full of dirty towels, there was hardly anywhere to tread. And since the reservation was already paid for, there was no solution. Another thing is that you get there and ask for a room. If you don't like it, you go somewhere else and dot. In any case, I think that as we protest we were punished in a way.
Although the hotel offer of London is not best, the one that there could have a little better served. And, on the reservation websites, you should point out that, once there, you can be placed where it suits you. It turns out that you arrive and they send you to the basement, with a locked door that gives to a patio and a window. The carpet on the floor, by the way, I don't know if they've ever been cleaned.
So we explained one of the receptionists, the building bought it — in investment plan — some foreign magnate, adapted it and inaugurated it.

Comfortable, clean, friendly, friendly staff. Located in a quiet area, well served by public transport, but close to many restaurants for all tastes and pockets. Good value for money.

Excellent value for money for a hotel with lovely staff.

Air Conditioning went out on the second night. They said their was nothing they could do because they were completely booked, though we saw maybe 2 other people there during our entire stay, so that was a little shady. Some of the help there was friendly and accommodating, while a few other workers acted suspicious. They did move us to a different room the following day. The room was clean and small as you would expect a old London hotel room to be. Location is within a short walk to 2 different tube stops. The neighborhood seemed as safe as you could expect. I didn't pay much for the room, so it was decent for the money.

Reception is friendly. Hotel located near China Town, 2 mins walk from Museum station and Coles about 5 mins walk. Hyde Park located right opposite us. Allocated room with great view of the park. Room is clean and with well equipped kitchen. Free use of washing machine and dryer too. Free breakfast was great too.

Comfortable, clean and pretty beautiful room, the bathroom is little small but good, execellent Wi-Fi but for the lower floors, in the upper ones it is a bit slower.

Our experience was very terrible. We arrived late on a Friday night and were given a room on the ground floor in which the sink (of the inside kitchen was leaking water) Obviously, they didn't check the conditions of the room prior to our arrival. Afterwards, we requested twice to get another room and the receptionist promised that they were able to give us another room. Much to our surprise, we were given a really tiny room. Given the fact that it was 2.30 we didn't feel like complaining because we were tired. At 4am the alarm of the hotel went off as someone was smoking on their room and we were kept in the corridor for 1h. The next day, they promised to change us the room but they gave us the same as the night before, without repairing the sink. After complaining they gave us another room, so in less than 9 hours we changed rooms 3 times. On Sunday after checking out, we realised that we forgot a ring in the room. We went to the hotel to claim it twice. The receptionist was helpful and friendly, but the manager kept changing her version after the third consecutive day claiming… the fact is that the ring disappeared… Anyway, the bathroom is really small, the rooms are uncomfortable, no breakfast. Definitely, not worth the money paid for when in that area, there are other hotels a lot better organised, nicer and for the same price. We are well unhappy and it is a NO go hotel in London.

Renovated hotel. Area accessible and comfortable room. They receive guests shopping before check-in free of charge. Good attention.

Nice hotel, very well located in Central London near Oxford or Picadilly, in a quiet area and close to the metro (Queensway station).

Small flat for the kitchen which is little functional.

Very cumbersome and do not change the sheets every day. In a week or only once and dwarf baths.

The hotel was renovated, but there are still some things missing. We stayed in a family room and the bathroom had a shower with no physical division from the rest of the equipment, making it awkward to have a bath trying not to mess the rest of the bathroom. We could listen every single step from the persons above us and at the middle of the night the heater started making a huge noise out of nothing. Otherwise, the hotel has good facilities and by having a simple kitchen equipment allows us to be more independent from the breakfast schedule.
