Great location, right on the top of Hyde Park, next to Oxford street with great shopping. No elevator and steep stairs, not so good for elderly maybe. Breakfast was ok.

Very small room up some very narrow and steep stairs, but clean and great location.

It's clean, but it's small, only basic equipment, no air conditioning, no cups, the environment of the third world.

Booked a room 4 months in advance.
Due to circumstances we had two separate reservations for two nights.
Two days before departing to London, I was called and told that they couldn’t accomodate us the last night due to overbooking.
A friend of mine booked a room three months later than us and he could stay.
So we were litterally put on the street, with no option to cancel the first night as well so we could find another place to stay for two nights.

Very basic accommodation by Edgware Road, with noisy staircase and thin walls.

Small rooms, Good breakfast.

No lift… toilets are outside your room… decent breakfast… great location…

Good value hotel. We had a small refurbished room, which was OK, but smelled a little like a hamster's cage.

The staff were very nice and clean.

Rooms are not bad, Wi-Fi was there and the breakfast is good.

It is a boutique hotel with basic necessities. At a very prime location in Central London.

Its a very safe place and it's center of everything. MARBLE ARCH is 2 min walk, Oxford Street is 10 mins walk if your shopping crazy and Buckingham Palace Big Ben, Covent Garden, Tafalgar square are all half hour walk so it's very good if your keen on sight seeing. Very clean and cozy place, even breakfast is very good. Staff are friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend the place and will definitely come back again and highly recommend to friends and family.

I stayed at this Hotel from 27/9/2017 to 1/10/2017.
I'm not a dull person but surely this Hotel is terrible.
I read some good reviews but most likely these people did not stay in my room.
A single without closet just a chair where I lay my things,
The bed and a bedside table.
The small bathroom with no soap door, towel rack and toilet paper holder.
Finally, the room was on the 3rd floor, all night long the noise of a water pump that was sticking and peeling off. A nightmare.
To my complaints "sorry, sorry" but nothing has been done to rectify the problem.
Hotel to avoid.

Grubby and in need of a deep clean.

Not good at all. Tiny room. Tinniest bathroom ever. Toilet outside the room crampped under the stairs. Very expensive.

Very tiny room, however it was very comfortable and in a great location. Breakfast and Wi-Fi included.

Minimum and uncomfortable single room. It doesn't tell you on the Web when you hire that the water is out of the room and this is a hoax and a disappointment. The ladies of the service are very friendly. They refuse to speak Spanish, only English.

Pretty good value for money, this hotel in zone 1 in London with which you can walk to many sites without having to take transportation. The service was very good. The room is quite clean, beds are very comfortable. There was a problem with the showers and got quick solution for problems caused returned us some of the money. The breakfast very full with great varieties of cereals, pastries, toasted, and tortillas or eggs. If I go back to London I will go to the same hotel.

Nice wee hotel. I was on the top floor and with no lift you do need to be fit but the staff are so lovely (TripAdvisor comments are negative but trust me I am fussy and I found this to be good). Breakfast is included — although if you are vegan take your soy milk. I had a great night's sleep and bargain is it is so close to Marble Arch and of course you have the vibrant Edgeware Road on your doorstep. For vegans — there is a As Nature Intended store minutes from the hotel. There are no tea and coffee making facilities so make sure you have bottled water.

Great little hotel close to Marble Arch. The manager is quite helpful in trying to sort out problems. The rooms are clean and neat, if on the small side, but perfect if you're just looking for a place to sleep while exploring London.

I stayed here this week and couldn't have chosen a better hotel, five minutes from Marble Arch, lovely area, helpful friendly staff. All in all would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting accommodation in London. This really helped make my stay more enjoyable. If I have any colleagues or friends wanting to visit, this hotel will be my first choice for them. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff who made both myself and my niece feel so welcome — many thanks.

Not perfect, and without luxury, but still good. The staff was very nice. The room is small, but clean and what you need to do when you get there (hair dryer, Adapter for the outlet, shampoo, soap, clothes hangers, chair, etc). The bed and pillows were comfortable and the shower good. The road makes a bit of noise, but with the Internet you can sleep well anyway. The Breakfast is Yogurt, cheese, eggs, fruit and cake (the bread can disappoint, but this is everywhere in London so). The location of the Hotel is super. Close to Hyde Park, Marble Arch, Oxford Street and Paddington Station (direct connection to the airport).

Great value for the money with nice rooms and close to Marble Arch.

I stayed here in May 2011, and loved it! It's within walking distance of the Marble Arch station. I stayed a few nights, and I loved the size of the room. People seem to forget that it's a converted Victorian townhouse — you're not going to get a Hilton suite! There was enough room for my bathroom, a small walkway alongside the bathroom, and the bed and a small wardrobe. It was downright snug, and I LOVED IT. Looking out the window, there were a couple of armed police on the opposite corner. Turns out Tony Blair lives in one of the adjacent townhouses so there's a 24/7 guard out there. Definitely felt safe walking to/from the hotel regardless of the hour! My room was clean and my luggage was safe. I've known people on various trips Ive been on to have things stolen from their rooms while out touring, so I was pleased to find a hotel where no one seemed to touch my stuff. The plumbing in the bathroom worked fine. People complain about carting luggage up the stairs (no lift) and not fitting it in their rooms. I was traveling for 2 weeks and my ONE suitcase fit fine. Perhaps the issue isn't the room, but more the overpacking? Just sayin'. My only complaint matches that of the reviewer before me who said there's nowhere to stash your bags when the room isn't ready. Most international flights arrive early in the morning, and since check in isn't until later, I was forced to leave my belongings in the corridor.

It's horrible — not recommended.
On the night of November 3, 2011 the roof of the GRIFFINHOUSE hotel room 16 was a crack that entered water waterfall mode. Entered so much water that noise woke us up at night, a great stream of water detached the ceiling painting and at 5 o'clock in the morning began the transfer of towels on the floor and holes to mitigate the impact of rainwater on the dirty carpet.
We did not change room or arranged the malfunction and not could change us to another hotel because the Hotel Griffinhouse you COBRA had already advance paid three nights
Other defects of the Hotel are the following: •Cortinas sucias•Moqueta very sucia•Espejo without hanging up on the broken suelo•Toallas and not change them to diario•Sabanas viejas•Paredes desconchadas•tuberias to the air in the hot little bano•agua, there is no hot water for two showers seguidas•No there is hardly room for breakfast and this is escaso•Cobran for leaving the suitcase on day of departure (not in my case) •COBRAN in advance the room at the time you arrive, until you can see it.

After many hours looking for a centrally located budget hotel in London I choose this. At the beginning I read any comments against but I can't because I was that it was not so. It is true that on the internet you see many opinions but I also believe that when it comes to the truth is a bit of luck so if it goes well and if it goes wrong. If you are looking for something economical.
Received us a lovely girl that even though he didn't speak Spanish not made us look silly and very willingly facilitated things. Another girl another turn very speak Spanish well. Both were very kind.
The hotel is located in an amazing area. Beside… everywhere. On maps, everything seems more distant but then you realize that there is so far away and that you like walking… It is located in a street very quiet, typical elegant district and high level. It is area of Arabs, with many shops and places to eat or smoke a Hookah, both in the Interior and on the street because there are many cafés and all kinds in terms of prices.
It is within walking distance of Hyde Park and four of Regent's Park. Two minutes walk from the shopping Street Oxford. There are buses on the street of to the side is a large and whether you arrive from the station victory as if you want to go can make you it fast. There is also a garden almost in front of the entrance.

I stayed few weeks back, location is perfect but hotel needs some work rooms are tiny and the place need bit of makeover. Staff were nice though.

My hubby and I stayed here in October 2007 and were given the room at the top of the first flight of stairs. So very cramped, no room for luggage. The room just fit the double bed and a small wardrobe and the floor actually SLOPED. Bathroom door didn't close and the shower tray filled up with water as you washed. Bathroom door way is so low my hubby hit his head on it, but he was trying to cope with the downhill slope in the room. My arm hit the ceiling light as I was changing clothes. Smells musty and the bedcovers were dirty. The sheets had long black hairs in them. Yuk. Do recommend you go elsewhere. Breakfast is miserly and down steep stairs that would endanger your life, as the door at the top swings back onto you due to the sloping building. I can't believe this place hasn't been condemned.
