We had dinner in 116 last night and the food was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The hostess (from Canada we think) was amazing! First time for us experiencing a tasting menu and it didn't disappoint. We will def be back again when we are next in London.

We have been visiting this hotel for the first time, and we stayed here for 3 nights (7-10 October). The hotel is located in a very good and beautiful place with lots of good things to do in the area. Hotel is beautiful and the staff is the best. But one person has stolen a peace of my HEART, the door man “John” who has been working here for 33 years, he is such a charming gentleman. My heart goes to John he is warm loving and very helpful man. One of a kind ❤️ John we give you all our appreciation and love. Kind and best regards

We have had the most relaxing 24 hours here, the service has been amazing. Staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The stay topped off by the most amazing breakfast in bed.

Wow! The best experience myself and my husband have had for a very long time from the second we called in for afternoon tea.
The meet and greet gentleman outside was fantastic and very professional about COVID procedures. Very friendly staff inside, amazing service, immaculately run, the food was perfect, they go above and beyond to please. We would definitely highly recommend to family and friends. The next time we visit London we will be booking our stay here.

We came to The Athenaeum to celebrate a significant birthday and we are very happy with our choice. Right from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome as exceptionally well looked after by their friendly manner. We had a beautifully — designed suite overlooking Green Park which had all the facilities and comfort expected in a 5 star hotel. They even sent up champagne and cakes for my birthday — a lovely surprise on our return from shopping. A pity the spa was being renovated during our visit but that gives us something to try when we return!

Just had an amazing spa day with my friend and were so impressed with the service and treatments on offer.
I went for a full body wrap and loved it as never had one before my friend had a massage she said it was one of the best. To finish the day with a glass of Prosecco was just amazing. Thank you girls.

The hotel is in a great location in London and has very nice amenities. We had a discrepancy regarding charges on our bill which the hotel was very kind to work with us to correct. Would recommend!

I was giving a ground floor room situated out of the main building, which I had to cross through the service area. After a complain I got changed to the main building and given a 4th floor room facing the park. Pictures of the lobby and rooms are far from what it looks in reality. Very disappointing.
When I asked for the business center, I learned the hotel didn’t have one. I was sent to use the concierge desk computer as they didn’t have a dedicated guest one.
Some of the staff was indeed trying to be helpful as they could, but overall a bad experience. Shame…

Experience English afternoon tea, meals can be continued, tea, lady-level enjoyment, service staff kind, always pay attention to the use of meals, will come to ask if you want to add meals.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel. We booked a room for a nice stay-cation and it was awful. We were put in a room in a separate wing and had to use an other entrance on a tiny street where we had to jump over people smoking weed on the steps. The room was dark, dated and the bathroom was tiny, you could be using the toilets and brushing your teeth at the same time! The main lobby smells really weird and looks nothing like the pictures online This should be a 3-star and not a 5-star. The mini bar is overpriced compared to other hotels in the same market. Definitely not the dreamy relaxing stay-cation we hoped for. As someone who works in the industry, I would never recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful! This hotel is a real 5 star, clean, quiet, delicious food, and the prices are Great! And the location of the hotel is epic, near the green & the hyde park if you’re planning to stay here you must try out Hard Rock Cafe it’s 3 min away from the hotel.

We used one of the meeting rooms then went down to the lounge for a drink later on. Food during the day was excellent. Great selection of cocktails and whiskey at the bar. Excellent location.

Love love love. Love the location right between Hyde Park and Green Park, so close to Green Park tube stop, which is a great hub stop. We always stay in the apartments, so we have our own entrance, a kitchen with laundry, lots of space. And we love the staff. We really consider them friends. Gym is small but functional. Cool bar with inventive cocktails if you're willing to let the bartender guess what you'd like. Breakfast is so-so, but room service has a good all day menu.

I enjoyed a great time at this Hotel. This Hotel is based in a good location & the rooms are amazing with luxury interior! Philip who works at this hotel was also very welcoming to my partner and I. The other staff was also very helpful. I would definitely come back here.

I went to the spa for two express treatments using a virgin experience voucher. I had a lovely time, and also had an hour's use of the sauna, steam room and two hot tubs. Make sure you arrive a good fifteen minutes before your treatment is scheduled to begin to allow time for changing and for the masseuse to arrive.

I did a groupon spa day and 3 course meal deal here for my sisters birthday treat… changing room facilities were a bit small… but the staff and service made up for that. We had a half hour massage and half hour body scrub treatment and felt amazing. The food was lovely, with generous portions, washed down with a great prosecco.

Great location. Amazing bed. Thought shower was repeatedly flooding, so I couldn't take longer then 5 mins shower. The bathroom wasn't consistently resupplied. The staff listened and apologized willingly, but it didn't go beyond that. It could improve for solving part a bit.

Hotel was great and the staff we met going into hotel were very friendly. This was also the case with the staff in the bar. Good friendly chat. The hotel was fresh, clean and I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there. We had a meal in the restaurant and I would rush back to it. Meal was only just average and our waiter had no personality at all. It felt like he couldn't be bothered to be there. Disappointing considering it was a 5 star hotel.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in London, manager rude and not worthy of his position and rooms are not up to standard. This is not a 5* hotel, misleading and very expensive.

Really lovely hotel with lovely spa and restaurant staff. We had the afternoon tea and treatments on our visit and cam definitely testify to the greatness of the scrub. The food was pleasant and it the atmosphere was made all the more cozy by the snow pelting down outside.

A 5 star hotel, but the employees have attitude as of a 1 star hotel… uncultured, uncivilized. Do not waste your time and money there. Their hotel manager under every review copy-pastes "this certainly doesn't represent Athenaeum hotel etc. " at the same time cheaply advancing to solo female travellers offering his email address, as if to discuss the issue. so cheap and pathetic!

My partner and I enjoyed afternoon tea with free flowing fizz yesterday afternoon. The food was lovely and plentiful, especially the smoked salmon on a crisp bread. The sparkling wine was very nice and our glasses were refilled several times. The waiters, Luigi & Michele, were very attentive and friendly and replenished our food whenever we requested additional items. We were even given a box of cake to take home.
Although we felt the room and furnishings were not exactly comfortable, we would certainly go there again. The friendly efficient staff and excellent food made it a memorable experience.

My godmother treated to afternoon tea at the Galvin for my 30th birthday. The food was delicious and plentiful. Staff always asking us if we would like more sandwiches/cakes. They offered us some more cakes to try and brought it out with a candle and chocolate decoration to say happy birthday. This was a really nice touch and both waiters who served us were attentive, polite and lovely! Will be coming back again soon!

Really good customer service, nice surroundings and the most comfortable bed! Only downside is that there are lots of lovely food items in the room that you might be tricked into thinking are freebies, but are actually very expensive items that aren't included in the room price.

Stunning hotel with friendly staff. Had set course lunch downstairs at Galvin's which left us surprisingly full as we didn't expect such portions at a place that offers fine dining. Well exceeded my expectations. Would recommend the normal menu too as it has unlimited bubbly!

A fantastic spa afternoon at The Athenaeum. I have visited the hotel numerous times for dinner, lunch and afternoon tea and have always had a great experience. The staff are always polite, attentive and helpful. The food is beautiful and the modernisation some of parts of the hotel over the last few years have made it one of my favourite places in London.

Had a lovely day being pampered on my birthday three months ago with the facilities & continued with lunch in the restaurant. Staff were very attentive… would love to repeat this experience. Location is excellent as we had a London day out! Thank you for making my birthday a memorable day.

Very nice hotel in center of London. Great location near Piccadilly and across from Green Park. Restaurant does a great breakfast and a decent dinner. The rooms are clean and modern.

The food is excellent and there is a smaller cosy bar bar serving great cocktails. The rooms are more comfortable than super luxe, the feel is definitely more old school. Excellent central London location just near Green Park tube.

Didn't really make much use of the facilities as I was attending a meeting in a conference room but staff couldn't have been more helpful in helping me find my way around. Toilets were immaculate with flannel hand towels for drying hands. Tastefully decorated. I felt a little out of place in jeans.

A wonderful hotel in a great location near Hyde Park & Buckingham Palace, as well as a few bus stops and tube stations. Great staff, especially in the bar. It's also a close, lovely walk to Picadilly theatres and shopping.

Afternoon tea at the Athenaeum Hotel in Mayfair is a must-try. The service is fabulous and the food tastes exceptional. The next time you're in London, make a point of strolling down Piccadilly to the 5 star Athenaeum and spending a few hours enjoying afternoon tea.

Stayed for my sister's birthday. Was disappointing to see that the public areas do not match the rooms. The rooms really are dated. Would stay at the Sheraton next door next time as that really has had a full refurbishment! The bar was very nice however with an excellent range of drinks.

Afternoon Tea at Galvin (At the Athenaeum) was perfect. Food delicious, staff excellent but unobtrusive and location relaxed. Don't waste your time at the nearby Ritz, walk a few hundred metres and get something exceptional :)

I visited The Athenaeum solely to use the spa facilities. The spa is nice and impeccably clean, and we were given a complimentary glass of champagne each — though we had to request it rather than it being offered to us by the staff. The facility is a bit on the small side, and they had overbooked on the day I went so there were at times people just standing around awkwardly in their bathrobes as the two hot tubs, sauna, steam room and even seating area was full. I had a full body massage, which was good, but would have preferred a bit more communication from the masseuse — for example she waited until the end of the massage to ask if the pressure was ok.

Lovely place, only if you are a member or know someone who is a member.

We had a lovely afternoon, service was excellent and our waiter went the extra mile with the kids. The youngest had fallen asleep when we arrived and they put cushions on the chair so she could continue sleeping. The waiter made the experience special for the children, letting them smell the tea leaves and offered different sandwiches that they would like. The service was relaxing and we didn't feel rushed at all.

High end Hotel offering a complete and impeccable service. The location is a short walk from Piccadilly and the centre of London makes it a great choice.

Really disappointed in my experience at the Athenaeum, not good enough to truly consider it a 5 star hotel. Public spaces were nice, and recently redone. Bedrooms were a bit more dated, and some of the trendy lighting technology has stopped working, but overall the rooms were fine and bed comfy enough. Bathroom feels like it is well over twenty years old though — in an "aged badly" way rather than a "classic look" way. Toilet and tub were cheap, worn and ugly. Shower fitting was a botched job, that nobody should have signed off on. Mould on silicone in bath. And the toilet cistern was the slowest and noisiest I've ever experienced — it took 5 minutes to refill, seriously, I timed it. The tiny gym wasn't much better, two out of five machines were broken, peeling paint and wallpaper on the walls and discarded tissues left lying around. Overall it was just a lack of attention to detail, which is what sets a real 5 star hotel apart from the rest. In a 3 or even 4 star hotel these things wouldn't matter so much. But if you claim 5 stars you set an expectation you have to live up to, and the Athenaeum failed to do that.

Perfect location, attentive service, good table but not really defined reception in the lobby, set of lights in the room not easy to master.

Surely the Athenaeum deserves high praise for the compliments regarding menu items made by Robert Ludnun in his book The Jason Directive.

So nice after the refurbishment. Really elegant and great drinks in the bar. Rooms are beautiful but make sure you get a Green Park view if you can. The view is worth the extra.

Stayed here on a business trip and really enjoyed my stay. Very helpful and friendly staff and nice location with Harrods and Hyde Park only a few minutes walk away.

Staying in the hotel itself is a very comfortable experience, because hotel rooms are great, there are quality service and excellent location. In the hotel has a small gym was excellent. Is a park next to the hotel, ran a very good step. Finally, very sincerely recommend this hotel, the hotel's whisky was very impressive.

My friends and I lived here for a good time, the food and service were very good. Everyone is very kind. Hotel sunny with beautiful Christmas decorations. On Wednesday night, complimentary cocktails and snacks are additional surprises.

We've stayed at this Hotel 3 times before, but now it has been taken over it is awful. We booked to stay and then eat in the Michelin star restaurant. What they failed to tell us is that "the exciting times" due to renovations would mean that the entire hotels facilities would be down. No Spa, No Bar, No restaurant (that they let us book for the night we were there). The room service in this hotel used to be me and my partners tradition, Cheese and ham toastie after a night out… I can quite safely say the £35 toastie is now the biggest joke of the whole hotel. They did however give us complementary champagne and chocolate strawberries. They should be offering a room only service at the moment as that is all they can provide.

This is one of the most wonderful places to stay in the world! No, not just London, the world! The staff goes well beyond what is expected. They made it a point to get to know me personally. I can not express how much I enjoyed my stay at the Athenaeum. Thank you so very much for making my stay with you the best experience in my life!

This has become my favorite hotel in London. From the moment one is greeted by John at the door and is checked in by a friendly and attentive staff who have even made the effort to remember ones name. The rooms are beautifully appointed, with the necessities that a business traveller requires, including: teapot, and an espresso machine. A small container of fresh milk can always be found in the fridge for ones morning coffee. The downstairs bar is very comfortable with intimate clusters of comfortable seating… a great place to bring a client or friend for an afternoon gin and tonic. They have a very nice small gym and spa. Unfortunately, the only drawback is the the steam room and sauna close by 8PM (the time that a busy business person would love to have available after a long day of seeing clients! ). One also has to be cautious of indulging in their superb English breakfasts.

English Club. Honorable't. Best English atmosphere. Here you can smell the Empire. Food is very good. But you need the invitation of a Club member.
