My wife and I stayed at this hotel last Saturday night. The welcome was superb with the doorman, the concierge and the lady at the check in all engaging us in a very polite and friendly manner. This carried on throughout our stay. The concierge was fantastic. He seemed to go that extra mile in just about everything. My wife happened to mention that it was my birthday and the Marriott staff just seemed to revel in the opportunity to display their wonderful attention to fantastic customer service, which I must say was some of the best I have ever experienced. Our room was upgraded, which is a perk of the Gold Elite membership that I have. It was still quite small but that’s to be expected in London. The quality of the room however was excellent. Very comfy bed; Nespresso machine; TV with decent sound, which is a first for me in a hotel room, and a marble bathroom with a very fancy toilet (which puts a smile on your face). The gym and pool are very nice as was the executive lounge, (another perk of Gold Elite membership) which had a very good spread of food, all prepared to a high standard. We had evening dinner in the Lanes Restaurant on the Saturday night. The service there was as wonderful as we had experienced throughout our stay. I do not really have anything negative to say which makes this in some ways an unbalanced review. Maybe we were just blinded by the superb service we received. I would recommend staying here and I really do look forward to going back again soon.
