Note: I may change this review's score upon receiving refund for my room My sister and I went down to London for a treat to see Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. After initial difficulties with checking in early we got back from the theatre that night to a nightmare. The room we booked was a twin room, we'd been provided with a double. Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked so once I raised the issue the best staff could do was provide us with a put up bed. Which was retrieved from a dusty outside storage room alongside a winter duvet which was provided without a duvet cover. I'd like to have said this was the end of our problems unfortunately the longer we stayed, the more we discovered. The room itself was underground in a room with no AC, with a window that didn't open (nor did the blind) and an extractor fan that didn't work. Now it was a hot day in London that day but it was at least 5-10 degrees warmer in the room and certainly much more humid. We were provided with two desk fans but they did little to cool the room down. Resulting in one of the hottest most uncomfortable nights sleep I've ever had. And this is in April, had it been summer the room would have been dangerously hot. Unfortunately the problems with the room didn't stop here. The room was unclean, floors and surfaces in the bathroom looked grimey. The toilet paper hadn't been replaced despite a minimum still remaining on the roll. The duvet cover on the bed was ripped and tatty. The ceiling was damp and the skirting boards had scuff marks all over them. After relating most of these issues to the concierge on duty I was told to speak to the manager in the morning. However come morning, following a pretty terrible breakfast I was told that the manager was unable to speak to me. I was instead given the hotels card and told to express my frustrations through email. I am now awaiting a reply from the manager and hoping for nothing less than a full refund. Had it been earlier in the day I would have found an alternative place to stay but my sister and I were exhausted and it was close to 11pm at night when we checked in. I will update this review if a full refund is given. 24/04/2018
