Beautiful hotel, really wonderful staff, highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay recently. The atmosphere when you walked through the door was so relaxing and the staff were excellent.
The suite was out of this world, so comfortable and luxurious. We will definitely be coming back for another visit.

Amazing hotel with beautiful unique character rooms. Stayed in the Earl of Bolingbroke suite which was fabulous, complete luxury and spotlessly clean. Very helpful staff. A warm, friendly and extremely comfortable hotel. A hidden gem, highly recommend for a special occasion.

One of the most amazing hotel we have ever experienced. From the amazing front desk staff to the stunning private garden terrace. I cannot say enough great things about the hotel.

This hotel is beyond stunning. Staff is brilliant, personable, & detailed. To be honest, it feels like you are staying at an outstanding manor and being cared for by friends. The hotel is inviting, has incredible attention to detail, as well as immaculate. Neighborhood is very safe and Spitalfields Market is a stone throw away. I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

Location is great, Liverpool street station only 6-8 mins walk and 15 mins walk to Bank. Staffs are so friendly and nice…

Wonderful stay at an exceptional hotel. Tucked away in bustling Spitalfields, yet when you step inside the door you enter an oasis of calm with a wonderful grown up vibe. Fabulous decor and a real sense of luxury. Can't wait to come back.

Room is small but cozy. I guess the price I paid is mostly for the history, culture and decoration. The hotel is within walking distance to the Liverpool train station.

Centrally located right downtown easy to get to everything period.

Excellent hotel in Spitalfields. I've stayed in some great hotels in different countries and this rates in my top 5. It feels grown up, with a sense of fun! Comfortable and spacious, quiet and private. We stayed in the Henry William Pickersgill room. Tasteful, classy decor with a formula which works throughout the hotel. I like the way the lift is tucked away out of sight, so it looks more like a country house than a hotel.

This hotel is wonderful if you like the cosiness of old English culture. It was truly fantastic.

Stayed for our first wedding anniversary and were allowed an early check in without any problem. This what luxury should be like. All the decor and details are consistent with the original dating of the building in the early XVIII century yet the comfort and service are up to and better than any modern standard you'll find in a regular 5star hotel. Amazingly positioned just minutes away from Liverpool Street station and the hip. Side of Shoreditch with Old Spitalfields market and Brick Lane literally around the corner.

To put it simple. This is my new go to hotel in London. Skip the Hiltons, Marriotts and the like and book a room here.

Wow! What a beautiful hotel! I booked a two night stay as a birthday treat for my wife and we were very kindly upgraded to a suite upon arrival. The Obadiah Shuttleworth room is beautiful — lovely decor and very characterful with a comfortable bed. The bathroom is also very nicely decorated with a quirky ‘throne’ for a toilet. This is the only thing that I would pick up as less than perfect and that is only because it’s probably best suited to 18th century physiques! I’m not …that large but it’s quite snug on there… The hotel is situated very close to Liverpool Street station and round the corner from the buzzing Spitalfields Market, full of bars, restaurants, street-food pop-ups and market stalls. Despite this, the rooms are very quiet so we both slept very well. The staff were also excellent. Attentive and professional, without being intrusive. The free cake in the Tapestry room was also appreciated! All in all, we would definitely recommend this hotel as a charming, characterful retreat; well placed in a vibrant part of town.

An amazing hotel, feels like staying in someone's house. No restaurant or bar but a drawing room where you can pour yourself a drink (and pay at checkout) and a library to read in. Great service too.

Classic English building and decoration. A shirt walk from Liverpool Street and Finsbury Square as well as Brick Lane and Shoreditch makes it a good choice for business and socialising in the area.

Good if you like the area. I thought it would be a bit more lively in the evenings in the area but most shops close by 6p. Hotel is charming buy my room would be too small for 2.

Close to Liverpool Street station, in the Spitalfields area, it has definitely very thematic rooms, and the expectations are not disappointed once you arrive here.
High degree of cleanliness, you can sleep peacefully.
The service has been impeccable so far.

Everything was fantastic — service was efficient and polite, the room was extremely well decorated and had all the mod cons, and the location is perfect if arriving into Liverpool street station as we did. Close to spittalfield market and brick lane, which are great for strolling around! All in all a wonderful stay!

Great personal classic character hotel in a vivid area of culture art, food and street markets.

This is a Great hotel situated just off Folgate St next door to Dennis Severs house. The hotel is decorated in a lovely Georgian style with Amazing bathrooms with equally lovely Showers reconstructed with vintage copper piping and marble. The beds are very sumptuous with some even being four poster. The staff are warm and welcoming and the Buck's Fizz breakfast was very nice.
