The Swan Hotel

Fantastic service from all staff, nothing is too much of an ask, on one occasion the kitchen staff prepared a dish off menu upon request, for which we were so grateful for. Someone always stops by our table for a chat and check in, making it a nice homely atmosphere. We love coming back!

Sandra at the Swan organised my daughter’s party at very short notice and arranged DJ and decorations. Gorgeous food provided & loads of it! Lots of compliments from people. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you! 🥂

Always a friendly face to welcome you a cosy large pub complete with largish Garden.
Latte are always lovely. Plus for those weary traveling people it an Inn!
a perfect place to drop into and sit in or outside in the back or on the High street.
First time back in since lockdown finish.
Felt very comfortable back in or outside I sunny weather.

Had my little boys birthday party here in the function room it was all laid out lovely decorations food etc lovely pub friendly staff and amazing food Sandra and the staff were outstanding would highly recommend and will be booking again 👍

The Swan provided a warm, welcoming stay when I needed it most. The building has great character and is in a perfect location in the town centre. The staff are very friendly and I love the dog. The food was delicious and great value for money, especially the afternoon tea.

We had a delivery tonight and it was 5* really yummy great portion size and hot on arrival.

The pub is wheelchair accessible and upon entering we were met with lovely staff. The menu is extensive and ordering was quick and easy, procedures were put in place for social distancing but it didn't take away from the fantastic atmosphere. Food arrived quick, hot, homemade, huge portions and extremely tasty! The Swan is excellent value for money, dog friendly and the staff are so attentive and wonderful. The locals make you feel welcome and they cant praise Sandra, the landlady, enough — which is fantastic to hear! Within a couple of days of our meal we have already booked to go again! I would happily make this place my local. No wonder this pub has won pub of the year in Thornbury! Thankyou all so much for all your hard work. We can't wait to come back xxx.

I highly recommend the swan the food is really nice and is always value for money Especially the rice pudding which is lush. The staff are friendly and you are sure to have a good night out x.

Great atmosphere & outstanding service at a great price.

Probably the worse Sunday roast we have ever tried. Overcooked vegetables looked like a mash (broccoli & cauliflower). Roasties made from frozen. The meat was chewy and tasteless and everything was cold. Could not eat that!

Had Sunday Lunch delivered to our door! Generous portions and really tasty! Thanks a ton, just what the family needed! X.

The Swan has been delivering lovely hot meals twice a day to my mum & other self isolating elderly residents in the same block of flats, as we could no longer get a supermarket to deliver. Mum was 89 today & the landlady Sandra found time to source a local bunch of flowers, sign a card from all her staff and bake mum a delicious birthday cake in addition to running the kitchens on her own over Easter. It absolutely made Mum’s week. Huge thanks to Sandra, her husband and the delivery team; fantastic customer service above & beyond.

Swan Thornbury have been very welcoming and friendly every time I have visited. Food is v good and facilities excellent. Venue is of a good size and has spacious outdoors covered seating at the rear and a skittle alley.

Great night watching music staff are fab to.

Stayed at The Swan for 2 nights was attending a wedding in the area. Lovely little B&B where you are welcomed the minute you walked in and every time we bumped in the owner we were asked how we were. They even remembered we were attending a wedding and asked how it went. The rooms could do with some updating but were comfortable and very spacious. Had plenty of room to fit a travel cot with out falling over it. Food was good, big breakfast that set you up for the day and they made a small breakfast for our daughter. The only criticism I have is the fact that there are no en-suite bathrooms or baths. We were travelling with an 8 month old so having to walk down the corridor to sterilise her bottles or fill the kettle to make up her milk was a challenge as was trying to give her a wash. We had to sit her in the bottom of the shower with us which wasn't easy. Other than that had a very pleasant stay.

The swan is in a beautiful historic building, with many original features from different stages in history. Unfortunately theres also a lot of shabby, cheap looking factors to the interior design such as the carpet etc that generally don't feel very clean and seem to have gone without updating or repair for many years. Reasonably priced drinks and food, plus regular theme nights for anyone who enjoys that stuff (or enjoys a free drink for dressing accordingly). Service can be slow and/or unfriendly at times but on most occasions decent. Love the pub dog.

Love this place. Whenever we are out and about in Thornbury we head here for some good reasonably priced food. Pay off the character is provided by the owners dog who is very friendly.

This is an old coaching inn. The building is full of character. It has a few hotel rooms. They serve food. I usually have tea and a bacon roll for about £2.50. My husband likes their beer. Dog friendly too.

My partner and I stayed for three nights at The Swan and every morning we woke up to a great breakfast with the option of cooked or continental. The owner Sandra was very helpful and friendly! We stayed here on a Friday night with live music downstairs and we couldn't hear a thing and slept very well. The accommodation was the cheapest we found in the area but it was great accommodation. There was two full bathrooms shared between the three rooms, plus the the option of a bath on the next level down. Direct links to Bristol, in under an hour almost directly outside the door. We would definitely recommend staying here.

What a way to finish a parkrun, a short walk from the run to a lovely pub with a roaring log fire. And at 10am on a Saturday a parkrun special — A hot drink and bacon roll good value and tasted great. Only down side is as his was just a tourist visit for the parkrun I won't get to go each week.

The bar staff are very pleasant here, however the food is disgraceful, my partner ordered the faggots which couldn't be cut into! They tasted as though they were freezer burnt, awful awful food! As anyone would do when trying to eat non edible foods we sent it back and asked for either a refund or another choice off the menu (still paying, even though we shouldn't) the manager then came to see us who I can only describe as abrupt, then told us we can't have a refund and can't have another choice off the menu! Disgraceful managing and unfriendly, awful customer service would never recommend this place for food! I'd only go for a drink here as long as I don't bump into the abrupt manager! Absolutely terrible to think this is good customer service!

Great pub for live music and welcoming staff. Defo worth a visit, best pub in Thornbury.
