Friendly staff, we were served quickly, our food came promptly and was spot on … highly recommended!

Booked for a stop over on our way to Devon from Bucks. Beth who I think was the manager was brilliant, attentive and friendly, humoured the kids. Great place that's work in progress, they are going to make this place very special. Perfect for what we needed. Thanks Beth for looking after us!

Food was Ok, 10 of us eating on a table. Only one barmaid who was also the waitress. So other people waiting for drinks whilst she was serving food. (Poor girl) We all had between 5 and 6 chips each. Which was a real let down on the meal. Won't be going back in a hurry.

Beautiful courtyard, great entertainment and lovely comfortable room all in a gorgeous old pub. Plus has a fantastic cottage that can be rented that u could happily live in let alone rent for a night.

Food was nice but had to wait forever then to be told what I wanted wasn't available. Would go back but not on a Saturday night.

This place has an enormous amount of potential and we look forward to visiting again when all the projects are completed. The food was Good, the service was brilliant and nothing we asked was too much trouble. The accommodation was roomy but a little over priced for the standards we experienced.

Small choice of the usual beers, freindly staff, reasonable food menu and tired accommodation.

The lovely lady who served us did a brilliant job; very friendly and efficient. The food and drink was most enjoyable.

Lovely place offering a superb selection of home cooked foods and nice drinks. Great staff and friendly atmosphere so always great for a visit.

We had a very nice meal, the portions were excellent and they also do small portions which is great for sm eaters.
The staff were very helpful and attentive. Would definitely recommend a visit as we will visit again.

Yummy Sunday lunch homemade feel to it! Plus if you fancy a full English Breakfast in the new snug before 1200 well good.

A very cosy place, on the way to Bath. Nice place for relaxing, quite. Rooms are well maintained, staff are well behaved and helpful. Safe for family. Designated car parking.

Nice food and likeable staff. Solid place to go for straightforward food.

We visited on Sunday for their "Carvery". It was roast dinner and all the trimmings of Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, roast parsnips and bacon wrapped sausage brought to the table along with a large selection of vegetables and more if we required. Our party of four enjoyed the meal immensely. The meat (2 had roast pork, one had beef and the other had vegetarian sausages) was perfectly cooked and the veggies consisting of cauliflower cheese, red cabbage, broccoli, mashed swede and baby carrots were also great. The price for the four of us was very reasonable. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The only downside was that we had to wait a while for the food to arrive. But we didn't mind as we had time to chat with our friends and it was certainly worth waiting for! We liked it so much we shall be going back very soon. Well done to The Crown!

The best roast I've ever eaten and fair price too must visit.

Great food all homemade. Bathroom bit shabby but understand all rooms being done up. Loved are stay here and would stay again.

We stayed in rooms 2 and 5 and rooms and breakfast were reasonable but both bathrooms were disgusting.

Pub looked OK. Friendly young lady. Room 1 was a little dated OK for the head down.

Don't believe this is the same place now, we dropped in here last Sunday for carvery was told they were only doing plated roast, it was delicious! Came out within ten minutes of ordering superb.

Staff really have a tough job on there hands. Food very poor, bar area really nice, clean and cosy parts to sit. The rooms, well completely different story! We stayed in family room, first look, did look good until we looked further Tiles missing around bath, black mould around bath and on ceiling. Only aloud 2 teabags, although 3 in a room. The evening meal, well,. Nearly all the food was returned, or not paid for. Perhaps the CHEF? Couldn't cook or wouldn't cook? He was very aggressive when the complaints started rolling in, and not just from our party.

The online menu bears no resemblance at all to the actual one when you arrive at the premises. There was only one draught lager, no draught cider. The seafood consisted of octopus with one prawn, the ale pies were tough and chewy chips almost burnt and the rib eye steaks were tiny. Not the best night out. Having said that the service at table was good if a little slow between courses.

Lovely, varied menu. Beautifully cooked vegetables. Downside was availability of dishes.
