We booked a triple room for one night. I called the hotel on our arrival day to let them know that we're arriving late. That's when they told me that they messed up my booking and they arranged a room for us in another hotel. They also told me that we can't arrive any later than 10.00 pm. Accepting that we got to the Lopes, collected the details for the other hotel and had to drive there for 20 minutes. It was in the middle of nowhere! There were also complications with the second hotel (not the Lopes fault) but the Lopes didn't care, I had the feeling they were just happy that they were rid of us. A good hotel would have called me in advance to let me know there was a problem with the booking. Then I could have decided for myself what I would like to do! Very bad service. Even if it's a decent place to stay, I hope for all of you that no problems come up or you might experience the same bad service than I did.
Nice location, extremely helpful and friendly staff. Room was spotless and everything worked as it should. Food was decent pub grub and good value. Only downside was that the square it is on faces a 'sports bar' which had live music on until late and was noisy. Excellent value for money.

A very charming place, it's quite old, with lots of original features, the room was surprisingly spacious, lovely breakfast, we were so happy actually to find this place. Good value for your money.
