Had a fantastic weekend break at The Old Bell Hotel. Staff were so friendly and the service was amazing. Thank you especially to Paf and Tristan. The hotel was of such a high standard of cleanliness and the food in the restaurant was outstanding. Will definitely be back and can highly recommend this gem of a place.

Had a lovely afternoon tea on Easter Monday was really delicious, lovely fresh sandwiches and the sausage roll was the best we have ever had, beautiful cakes and scones which were great too and homemade jam, although we had to bring the cakes home as we were full up, lovely hotel and atmosphere, helpful staff hoping to book a night in the hotel for our 20th anniversary next march this tea finishes off our Easter weekend.

Super busy tonight but managed to find seating. Lovely atmosphere, great service as always! Really enjoyable evening, thank you! We also thought the ribbons to stand united with Ukraine was a lovely touch 💙💛 xx.

We stayed here for our 5th Wedding Anniversary. We absolutely loved it, the hospitality was impeccable right from check-in, superb dining and great location. Perfect balance of old/ new with wonderful artichecture. Thank you 😊

My daughter celebrated her birthday here with afternoon tea. The service, value and attention to detail were all excellent. Staff were pleasant and attentive and the chef even provided a complimentary birthday sweet treat! We were impressed by the whole experience. Top quality. 🙂

Stopped and had lunch, well I say lunch it was so nice we had 3 courses, lovely staff amazing food, couldn’t ask for more.

We loved it! Super friendly, cheerful staff who made us feel so welcome for our afternoon tea. The food was delicious, cocktails were gorgeous and the new refurb looks different, fun, interesting and eccentric which made our afternoon even more enjoyable in such quirky surroundings. Can’t wait to come again! 😉

The new owners have turned this beautiful elegant hotel into a some tacky homage to Jumanji. No longer does it hold its charm, it just looks like any mainstream large city hotel that’s trying to be edgy and cool. You could be anywhere, not iconically England’s oldest hotel. The new decor and cream tea menu is a disaster, with burgers on a cream tea stand and dreadful trophy hunter decor… just tacky and cheap. A real shame 😔😔

On our wedding day our wedding party had afternoon tea here which was excellent both food and Staff. They made our day very special. We had accommodation for 2 nights First night with my Bridesmaids with dinner and breakfast both food and service to our room was very attentive and the staff where very caring to our needs. Second night my new husband and I stayed and again the staff and food were excellent. We would like to send an enormous thank you to all at The Old Bell for making our stay and Wedding day very special and to look back on with great memories. Thank you from Mr & Mrs Rake.

Wonderful food, excellent service (Jason was great) and felt very safe! Would highly recommend the scallops starter. Great night out to forget about the madness 2020!

We stayed here a week ago. The hotel and it’s surroundings are stunning.
Also dog friendly so we were able to bring ours with us which we arranged through Pets Pyjamas.
The staff were brilliant, especially the bar and waiting staff.
And a special mention to Rob who ran the bar late evening and looked after the security of the hotel overnight, very helpful and accommodating. D, M & P.

Best gin menu in town. Lovely, friendly staff. Recently attended the Gin Garden party which was a great time with fantastic music, delicious BBQ and many fantastic gins. Big thanks to Tom for a great night.

We attended the gin night and had a great time! The staff were so friendly and helpful, the hotel is lovely with a stunning garden and the live music (Felyx Fox) was great. The Old Bell Hotel in Malmesbury is a very lovely hotel and a great place to stay while doing the Great West Way. The comfortable rooms are beautifull and the food is very good.

Classic old British hotel. Amazing area and the garden, cosy cemetery on the side and lovely breakfast. The rooms are mostly small.

Just stopped in here for a drink around lunch time. I was given a potted tour of the hotel by a very enthusiastic young man. The restaurant was busy and looked very nice indeed. Uniformed staff very efficient and friendly.

Beautiful and small Old fashioned hotel.

Stayed for the night after a friend's wedding. Good clean room with great cookies and tea in the room. The shower was like a jetwash. Very helpful staff sorted me a taxi. Good breakfast too, would definitely stay again.

Fabulous lunch with friends. Food was great and sitting in the garden enjoying the sun. Staff friendly and great service.

Really enjoyable stay at this 13th century historic hotel. Good choice of rooms of different sizes and styles, extensive drinks menu, large secluded courtyard and lounges to relax in, and an elegant restaurant serving locally sourced creatively cooked food. Staff are young and attentive. The Old Bell is the perfect choice for a relaxing break in the south cotswolds with plenty of walks on the doorstep.

We chose the Old Bell Hotel for a Saturday drink and dinner with friends and a room for the night. Car parks were full but space available right outside entrance. Check in very helpful. Room was spacious and cosy. Bar area has lots of very historic features. Seating is perfect to spend time in. Drinks were excellent — local real ales and impressive cocktail list. We ate in the restaurant. Ceey traditional feel with a spoilt for choice menu. I had the lamb wellington for main, and will still be talking about how tasty it was in 10 years time. Great find. Highly recommended. We will be back!

We celebrated my in laws golden wedding anniversary at The Old Bell a couple of weeks ago. Private dining and afterwards a drinks reception. I can highly recommend it. The food was full of flavour and absolutely delicious, every member of staff were impeccable, from Organising the event, to serving dinner, to taking ordered. Special mention to Michael, who does make amazing gin cocktails! We couldn’t of asked for more. Thank you for making our evening so memorable.

Beautiful old building in a wonderful village, superb food, cocktails & gin list. Room was spacious and clean, of downside it was too hot even with all the radiators turned off.

Good place for a business meeting over coffee. Have met here twice for coffee and each time found a quiet corner mid morning. Small car park at rear, pay & display a couple of minutes walk away if that is full. Tasty coffee served with shortbread biscuit. Clean toilets with lovely hand cream!

Historic hotel right next to Malmesbury Abbey. The recent revamp has improved the facilities, bedrooms rooms are characterful and comfortable. If I have a meeting in Malmesbury — it's here.

Enjoyed sunday lunch in the recently refurbished 1220 Hotel, the oldest hotel in England. Setting, service and cuisine were all exquisite. We will be back.

Nice venue, hit and miss staff, enjoyable afternoon tea but could have been better — sandwiches not fresh but amazing scones.

Went for post concert drinks. Nice environment, lots of seating in the many separate areas. A very old pub restaurant and hotel with lots of original features inside and out. Service is friendly and efficient.

Lovely historic hotel in a beautiful location. The superior room we had was great with views of the town and abbey. Food was good, and drinks at the bar nice. Would defo stay again.

Just had dinner with family, the food was lovely but the staff were arrogant and the service was slow. No one asked if we would like coffee at the end of the meal. When we finally managed to get them to give us the bill it took more than ten minutes to arrive. We were tempted to get up and leave the table. Sorry we won't be back.

Just had a night in what was called a superior room but is now called a classic room. Very comfortable bed and clean bathroom but very hot … had to leave the window open all night which makes it a little noisy with people heading home late at night. Food was nice but not spectacular although the waitress was exceptional, and able to recommend steak preferences due to knowledge of the chefs cooking style.
A beautiful Hotel let down a little by the bar area which is one of the most uncomfortable I've ever been in, an odd mix of low tables and cafe style chairs no comfy sofa or armchairs and lots of empty space we only stayed for one drink and preferred to sit in the outside chairs even though it was a little cold for that.
The architecture inside and out is stunning and the dining room at night was lovely, made intimate by the candlelight and no music. I enjoyed my stay but at £165 a night which includes a fairly average breakfast it wouldn't be my first choice for a second visit.

Building is lovely… Really really characterful and unique. Great location. Bar was poor and there was absolutely no hot water, despite the lovely standing bath and shower units in my room.

We stay here 3 nights every year for WOMAD Festival. It's a haven of calm & beauty after festival hardships. Good breakfast menu in fine surroundings, garden for drinks and lunch, characterful and friendly bar and lounge for the late evening (thanks to the trusty night watchman).

I was on my way through the town on a long cycle ride and stopped for a sandwich for lunch. I entered wearing my cycling gear and was very impressed by the professionalism of the staff. They were very welcoming and the food was excellent and well priced (for lunch). I would highly recommend and would like to visit again, this time maybe slightly better dressed.

A lovely little hotel. Popped in for a quick lunch and drink while passing by the town. The food was great and the staff were very friendly. The setting right next to the abbey was really nice too, and the place had a nice and comfortable, old-time feel to it.

Quiet low-key fine dining. Charming and comfortable. Servers are attentive and polite. Food is tasty and quality comes through in presentation and flavor. I've had a casual afternoon meal in the back garden and an evening meal with my partner, both were good. The evening meal portions seemed small but each bite was packed with flavor, and I didn't leave hungry. Didn't have room for dessert. I would have given 5 stars, but for the price I expected a slightly larger portion — — so for the size given, I would have expected items to be a pound or so cheaper. No complaints. Good choice for a nice reliably good meal out.

Great food, a little pricey because of the location.

We had an anniversary meal here. Lovely place, food excellent. … seriously the best mushroom risotto I have ever had! Great steak too. Staff very attentive but not intrusive. Dog friendly. If you are in the area and definite must for a visit.

2 months stay in the hotel was an awesome experience. All the staffs are very helpful. Breakfast and food was awesome. Room and the surrounding view was unbelievable. Only one suggestion is each room should have a micro oven to prepare some readily available food, especially it will be very much helpful for people who are from India and staying more than 15 days.

Very nice setting for a meal or drinks although on the pricey side. I have heard good things about the rooms as well.
