Spent two nights at this lovely old hotel in the Cotswolds with my husband and six friends. The perfect venue to meet with old friends. We sat in the conservatory overlooking the beautiful countryside to enjoy our evening meals. Enjoyed a steam train ride and explored the lovely villages around the area during the day. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed an early morning dip in the pool and jacuzzi before breakfast. Very relaxing! I would recommend Cricklade House to anyone in the area for a very relaxing break.

Location for our days meeting was good. The reception staff were lovely. I stayed in room (number 1) which was newly decorated and comfortable — Except… see below Room number 1 was freezing cold. This was even on a warm day with some of the hottest days we've had in history within the UK. I actually thought I may have have been sleeping in a mortuary. It really was that cold. I tried to turn the radiators on, but nothing happened. The bedding was very damp, to the point I slept on top of the bed, in the FREEZING room… The lounge bar had no beer on tap, so only bottled beer available and only three bottles of that in total. The young lady serving (blond hair) had zero personality. She really couldn't be bothered to talk to you. The gent serving in the dining room, not sure of his name but he was quite a large chap. Was basically just rude. His serving manor was all wrong as though everything was a chore. Once we had finished our meal, we were sitting and chatting at the table, he came over and said "if you want to chat please can you go to the bar so I can lay the table for breakfast". It was only just past 10.15pm… we challenged him to say that really, as customers, we'd like to stay at our table at little longer, he just huffed and walked away, muttering under his breath. The service was not great.

I have given one star as although the wedding was fantastic that was down to the family. Staff very unfriendly, unhelpful almost rude throughout our stay Before the ceremony not enough seats for best man and when I asked the staff were uninterested, certainly don't work to the ethos of make your wedding guests happy and nothing to much trouble! only one barman which wasn't enough especially in the evening. Reception nightmare as booked and paid using laterooms and then reception charged my family again with many people experiencing the same chaos over bills and a queue waiting to sort it out. However the manager should of helped the girl on reception as she was doing her best to sort things out Breakfast cold and greasy.

Nice afternoon cream tea. Really quite a peaceful sat on the terrace. Dog friendly as well so that is a plus for me. The bar menu is good and the food is tasty and well presented.

Great rooms — old English stone style but well maintained furnishings. There is a nice glass conservatory and bar area full squishy comfortable couches for drinks. Good spa. Gym facilities.

Very nice, a little in the years come golf hotel.

Relaxing stay. Attentive staff. Lovely food. Excellent views. Relaxing Jacuzzi. Lovely room. All that you could want.

Nice hotel, being updated at the moment. Very nice staff, good food and pleasant bar. Leisure facilities are good, pool was very quiet while I was there. Room was well appointed, large, clean and comfy bed. Pillows were a bit soft. I stopped over for 1 night on business. I didn't play golf. All in all very good and I'd go back.

Really great venue in a lovely location which was easy to access. I attended as a guest for a wedding reception and the décor was perfect for the day. Excellent staff on what could have been a difficult day due to severe weather issues, but everything ran smoothly on the day. Food was delicious at all at the highest standard. Would recommend.

Clean and relatively cheap, it's an okay place for an overnight stay. There are spa & sports facilities available to guests, a sufficiently comfortable if generic bar/food area, and golf if you're that way inclined. Tea-making facilities are basic with standard Nescafé sachets. The décor is a bit faded, but acceptable for the price.

We attended a Christmas party here and stayed over. We were in the rooms across the car park which were freezing. So cold we had to get an extra heater to warm the room even though the radiators were on. Not sure I'd really want to return if I'm honest. The food was lovely however not much can go wrong with cod. Wasn't bowled over I'm afraid.

This hotel is in a great setting and the views are amazing. I have been coming here for many years, predominantly at Christmas, unfortunately it's lost some of its charm. The staff aren't as attentive as they used to be and the standard of the food has slipped. I think I'll be going elsewhere next year.

It should be renewed a bit, especially for the price they have… Still, the place is beautiful.

I visited for a wedding reception. The venue was excellent and the staff very courteous. I would recommend this as the grounds are excellent also.

Was at a social function. Room was spacious n nice. Food was also lovely.

The room which the event was in was amazing. Very spacious and beautiful. The buffet provided was average. Prices of drinks were fairly high. But had a lovely evening over all.

Was a nice hotel and the evening meal was lovely. Pool was nice but maybe a tad cold. Some parts looked abit dated but bed was comfortable the grounds were quiet and relaxing.

We were quite impressed by a lot of things. Quiet environment because of its location (in the middle of the Wiltshire Downs), clean and spacious rooms, plenty of parking, great food, friendly, accommodating & very helpful staff. We will definitely visit again.

Lovely relaxing hotel with views to die for. Great food courtesy of the restaurant and very amicable polite staff. Great little jacuzzi by the pool too! Don't want to go home!

Food was great, they struggled with service for us as we were a large group.

Nice location with good bar and food.

Last year, my husband and I got married at this amazing venue. The staff were amazing, the food was lovely which made our day perfect. We have came back this year for our first anniversary and the experience was equally amazing. The staff were friendly and made sure that everything was perfect. Cannot recommend Cricklade Hotel highly enough and when anyone I know get engaged, I steer them to Cricklade as I know their day will be amazing. Will definitely be coming here for years to come.
