Friendly staff, great food and covid safe…

We stayed here for 2 nights in one of the Shepard’s huts. They were cosy, clean and very comfortable! The staff were very attentive (especially Jenny the waitress) and the food was gorgoeus! As were all the cocktails we had! They even have a beauty hut offering massages and all sort of beauty treatments and the massage I had was incredible! Will definitely be back and 100% recommend this inn to anyone looking at staying here!

First time visiting today for lunch with friends. Food was really good and staff very welcoming. The carvery was amazing. Will definitely be back again.

Stopped here for lunch with my sister and our teenage children on the way back from a weekend away. Have to say that it was the best meal out we have had in a long time. The food was great. Delicious and very generous portions. We were seated and served as soon as we arrived by very helpful and welcoming staff. What topped off our visit was Bernie, a local who entertained our hard to impress teenagers with his amazing magic tricks. Will definitely be visiting again 5 stars from us!

Visited today, the pub it self is a nice place, our waiter was friendly, the man serving the carvery meat was miserable and hardly spoke, the roast wasn’t bad except the beef was so chewy we couldn’t cut it, gammon was nice, had a roast before and been lovely but today it really wasn’t, the server really could do with being a bit more friendly and maybe smile and look like he enjoys his job, if not why work there,, he really was a misery.

I asked for some glasses of water with our drinks and had to ask 3 times. Think the girl serving us was new so did not complain. Salad with food and something wired tasting on it. Asked which desert wanted and she got it wrong. (not listening) did we want cream or ice cream with desert and then told my choice not available after she left to get the deserts. Apart from that a nice sized pub and quiet, but we did stop at 4.30 for dinner so not a surprise quiet.

Carvery — food lovely. The magician made it a fun lunch out. Pleasant staff and food arrived very quickly for those not having the carvery.

Stopped here on the way home from Cornwall (diverted to miss traffic on A303). The best carvery, I will be stopping here again.

Very quiet no food until 6pm I wasn't the only customer disappointed with this!

Quit and clam place to live n eat… we have taken English lunch with delicious chicken liver pasty as appetizer and cream pasty as desert… nice indoor and outdoor seating facilities. With few number of accommodation facilities… its a perfect place to have a break before or after visit of stonehenge.

Friendly Assistant Manager checked us excellently. Food was great and breakfast was included. Reasonable cost.

Lunch of the third choice of a main meal taste lackluster, the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Terrible evening meal dry meat and veggies were soggy or like bullets, roast potatoes were deep fat fried!
Room wasn’t great either, shabby and in need of maintenance and update. Breakfast was just as bad with fresh produce sat on side with no cooling provision, again mainly deep fat fried. Barely warm.! Shame they don’t respond to their emails as quickly as they take your money.

Took my mum and aunt, both in their late eighties for lunch. Mum and I had the carvery — very generous meat portions and lovely choice of veg. My aunt had the chicken tikka & rice, which she enjoyed. Good friendly and helpful service.

The room was clean and nice. The breakfast was also of very high standard and the staff couldn't do enough to help you, they were all very friendly.

Lovely place, clean and friendly. Needed thicker duvets for winter, and access for Wi-Fi kept dropping but other than that a great stay over. Breakfast was greasy and toast was burnt.

Very disappointed, have been several times and although never wow was ok previously. Chef grumpy, almost intimidating. Beef dry, my partner who loves carvery just so he can have a plate of meat and potatoes left his. Vegetables luke warm and gravy like water. However after a three hour walk was very hungry so tucked in but soon put off my dinner by a rather loud inappropriate conversation between members of staff discussing contracts. May I add something similar happened on our previous visit, however we did not have the children with us that time so didn’t take as much notice.

Well I must say we came in as a family for a carvery and were very disappointed, at first glance everything look good, we went to get to get our meat and the chef was rude and abrupt and the meat was very dry, then the potatoes and veg where on the cold side. When we sat down all we could hear was the head waitresses voice getting louder and louder talking about other members of staff with the chef! Also felt like she was not dressed appropriately for the role as she was in trainers rather then shoes. Because of this we shall never be returning to the Stonehenge inn and shall telling people to boycott it.

Quiz night was good fun! Carvery was off that evening but the normal menus got something for everyone.

I had a single room at stonehenge inn for one night. Staff were so friendly and made me feel welcome. Room was warm and clean and I had a comfortable night. I had a lovely meal on the night food is excellent wit a good menu and the breakfast in the morning was most enjoyable. I will certainly return again.

Well located near Stonehenge, meal correct, breakfast correct. Great room for 4 people and clean. Negative Point is the soundproofing of the room… a lot of noises were coming not from the street but from the next room : we heard the coughing, the snoring and the TV of the neighbour. Well for one night only as there's no intimacy.

Me and my wife stayed here to visit stonehenge, lovely food a warm friendly welcome from all the staff, great room with large bathroom with everything we needed, the breakfast was plentiful, great location all in all I would highly recommend the stonehenge inn and we will stay again.

Great meat selection if you like carvery, bar staff are friendly and helpful and also good for kids as they have a play park to the rear of the building.

I enjoyed the carvery and beautifully prepared meats and veggies, but the roast potatoes nearly made me cry — I would gladly trade you my oldest child for that recipe! The Yorkshire pudding and the gravy sauce was divine. All that and a pint and I was a happy one. Wish I didn't live 6000 miles away.

Simple, hearty carvery that hits the spot but isn't anything to write home about. Big screens in the bar if you like football.

The Stonehenge inn was a wonderful experience. We went as part of a Stonehenge tour and it was well organized and coordinated with the tour company. We got the carvery meal and it was wonderful and filling. Good beverage selection including several ciders.

Stonehenge Inn is primarily a carvery although it does serve other food if a roast is not your thing. It is clean, bright and airy. It has the normal events to gather the crowds such as bands, open mic and others, details found on the website. Beer and Ale selection is average, nothing outstanding. Beer garden is concrete, gravel with a children's play area. Majority is secluded and dogs welcome. Staff are warm and welcoming. It's a nice pub but don't expect traditional village pub look. Plenty of parking over the road.

Being my 'local' I was, like most of the village very excited when this opened as a carvery. I love a good roast — who doesn't? So I tried it. Couldn't fault the meat, but I only eat a tiny amount of meat, it's the veg, potatoes, roasties and gravy that float my boat. Sadly theirs sank like a stone! But, in fairness, I thought I'd give them a 2nd chance a couple of weeks later, realising that as it was a new venture they were maybe trying to find their feet so to speak. Alas, the 2nd visit was no better. A while later I went for lunch with a friend and avoided the carvery. Had baked camembert which was stone cold in the middle. They changed it no problem. My daughter and myself went again, played safe and both ordered camembert — again, both stone cold. By now I'm thinking never again — but it is my local so I tried again. This time I figured ill have a chicken ceasar salad. They can't possibly mess that up. Can they? Well, yes they can. No parmesan shavings (vital ingredient! ) So they absolutely plastered it with the horrid dried parmesan powder to the point that it was totally inedible. Sent that back pronto. Next time, (yes I know, I'm a glutton for punishment! ) I asked if they had any parmesan shavings — excitement — yes they did. Yippee. And it was perfect! Hurrah! I thought they'd finally got their act together. Until today. Celebrating 2 birthdays, a group of us went up. Carvery looked ok ish so I thought I'd brave it. Order at the bar.

Warm and welcoming from the moment we got there. Accommodation was lovely with a great view of the countryside from the window. Room was supplied with tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The food was lovely in the pub bit itself with its own carvery. Would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again.

We had come away on a weekend away, we stayed in the beautiful Glastonbury, on the Sunday on our way home to Kent we visited Avebury stones and to get lunch in the Red Lion. Absolute disaster rude staff, and after showing us to our table and where to order, go to the bar and told no more food this was 2pm! Was told to go to shop! So we left very hungry, next pub no longer serving food. So we headed to Stonehenge and planned to visit a garage just to eat something! We then saw this pub, half heartedly asked if they we're still serving. Of course my lovelies come in sit down! Absolute heaven the staff were all so friendly, our waitress was great and a great asseset to your pub. Gutted we didn't get her name but short hair and slim. The food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend well done to an all day food pub!

My friends and I had a good lunch at the Stonehenge Inn. We had the carvery plate, which had a wide array of vegetables from Brussel sprouts to cabbage to several types of potatoes.

Very impressed at how the staff managed to deal with a LOT of diners on this busy Sunday lunchtime. Many of the groups had children with them (including us) and they were looked after with colouring and crayons! Food (carvery) was plentiful — piles of meat — and the veg servery was replenished regularly. It was clear that the staff were under pressure but they remained courteous, and welcoming. We were not rushed through our meal though, and so ended up having desserts which we hadn't really intended to do! Had a really nice time there and will be returning.

More of a bedsit feel to entry way and corridors. Stock piled in corridor and staircase area. Room well appointed although a very noisy place. Breakfast poor quality and the chef looked like he had just done an oil change on his car.

Not far from Stonehenge itself. Had a fantastic hot chocolate and will be going back for another and the food meal was displayed well with new and old recipes from your Sunday roast to BBQ pull pork and nachos. Over 4 stars really like the staff and layout.

Food was cold. The veg looked dry and had been sitting for awhile. Meat was dry (beef) pork looked under cooked If had 0 stars I would of gave it that. Seeming Toby was down the road should of gone there instead… staff more interested in talking to each other then looking after customers. Chef looked like needed good wash!

Had an amazing lunch there on Sunday. Booked online and table was ready for when we arrived (early). Very busy, yet staff were wonderful and had everything under control. The carvery was hot and more than ample. Thanks to all the staff for a fantastic dining experience. And thanks to the brilliantly talented magician for providing us free entertainment too.

A good carvery, prices are fair expect better than average fair food. Limited ale selection but has Doom bar so not all gloom.

Nice staff and pleasant inside and out. A play area is out the back for the kids too with gates to keep them in/out the different areas.

The room is big and beds are comfortable. Also the bathroom is big and equipped with a bathtub and a shower. Only the service at breakfast could have been better.

The best Restaurant in the vicinity of London, when it comes to Carvery — style Buffet with a delicious Roast as well as a variety of side dishes. With just under 10 pounds per Person for a plate of the Buffet is in the price, unbeatable. Definitely the Alternative to the Sunday Roast in London, the Lich, in my opinion, neither the taste nor the quality is good. In addition, there is the Carvery Buffet at the Stonehenge Inn not only on weekends but every day.

My son and I called in for some refreshment late afternoon on Good Friday. We ordered 2 ciabatta sandwiches and waited and waited. The carvery looked tired and uninteresting. There were very few people in the pub but the staff seemed harassed and the organisation chaotic. Twice we went to ask how long it would be before we got them and we were just told that they had got a new chef and it would be soon. Almost an hour later we asked for a refund and left. It was the worst pub I have ever been in.

The food there is fantastic, especially the carvery, and it's all reasonably priced. The bar area though has an almost sports bar feel to it and it does tend to get quite packed in the evening.

Great food, friendly and polite staff, definitely the best around, better than any big name. Recommend.
