Best festive lunch ever! Food was fantastic and even though it was really busy the service was brilliant.

Food was delicious as always.

Lovely and friendly place. Very tranquil and great to walk the dogs. Staff were really friendly and allowed dogs to stay which was perfect for us on this trip. We wish we had stayed at the pub for dinner on the Friday night as it was steak night but we already had plans. The food smelt fabulous. The rooms were cosy and very clean. We really enjoyed staying at this hotel and the breakfast was fantastic! Great value for money! Will definitely return!

This is a what you would class as a tradational english pub, quaint old building with beams and low roofs with the floor on multiple levels, very cosy inside. The food was excellent with a huge number of specials available on top of the regular menu. I would highly recommend.

Excellent food; couldn't fault any of it. Well worth a visit; it's a bit tucked away but worth the effort.

A little off the beaten track, but very much worth a visit! I recently went here for lunch with a colleague. The standard menu is good, but we both chose an item off the specials board. I think it was braised pork cheek. It was very tasty and the service was warm and friendly. I will be going back soon.

Great English pub located in a cute village in Oxfordshire. Delicious English breakfast, and the dinner was excellent as well.

We have just got back from the red lion, we had a table booked in the bar by the fire, the food was amazing as always, staff were very attentive we can honestly not fault the quality of the food and service.

To be honest from the outside we weren't sure it was open. The real fire was just what was needed on a rainy Thursday. The welcome and the food were both great. Really smokey mushroom risotto.

The Red Lion is a beautiful traditional English pub in an chocolate box type village with some of the most fantastic food possible.

First time visit to this pub. Went for a Mother's Day lunch. Good choices on the 2/3 courses plus tea/coffee set menu. Our bottle of wine was delicious and the service good. Only disappointing thing was the lacklustre selection of cask ale.

Peaceful ancient Castro pub with quaint but very comfortable accommodation. You'll need to book early for everything as it"s extremely popular.

We travelled to Oxford today and came across this delightful little gastro pub where we enjoyed a very flavoured lunch with well kept ale. Great tastes good service and sensibly priced. Thanks you to the chef and waiting staff. Would seriously recommend this to anyone and will call back ourselves when next in Oxford which won't be too long!

We stayed at The Red Lion last night. My husband was reliving his younger years in Blewbury. So glad we chose to stay here. All the staff were so friendly. We had dinner Friday night in the lovely restaurant which was one of the finest meals we have ever had, the presentation was amazing. Breakfast was delicious too, full English with everything you could think of on the plate, once again presentation was amazing. Our Bedroom was spacious and very clean, bed and pillows so comfy. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area. Thank you Phil.

Booked in advance just in case. Welcoming greeting and table was ready for us with glasses of iced water. Enjoyed a beer before our starter of chicken liver and foie gras, chutney and toast. For main course opted for the Roadt cod loin with scallop and pea butter. This dish was out of this world! Freshest cod cooked to perfection and the sauce was simply heavenly. For dessert the basket of summer fruits with mascarpone. Delicious. This £19.95 lunch special for three courses was outstanding value for money. Just perfect cooking! The pub itself dates back to 1512! And is in a picturesque village. Wholly recommended.

The red lion pub is throughly recommended from myself for any single travelling business women out there staying in one of their rooms over the pub. Was super looked after and the divine evening meal, wine, and then breakfast next morning was super! This northern lady traveller gives you certainly 5 stars.

Most amazing place. The food was fantastic. The wait staff were friendly, helpful and just terrific.

Brilliant food, great menu choices for vegetarian too. Well worth the money. Have been a few times and the service is always excellent, however Sundays is touch and go. Small but important point for wine lovers, great list and superb glasses to serve it in. Big love for this place.

Superb food. 6 adults and two children and all had something different for a change and not one complaint. All food was excellent and top drawer. Although the service was good it could have done with more staff at the busy period but don't let that distract you!

We stayed yesterday, the food was delicious over the three meals from lunch to dinner last night and this mornings exceptional breakfast, beautifully presented and served by lovely welcoming staff. The room was well appointed if a tad too warm overnight. One tiny observation/criticism could the chef give us vegetarians a bit more choice on the menu?
